Thanks! Hopefully i get the chance to target them again this year. If i do I’ll make a how to video on cleaning them. Otherwise if you look back through my channel i made a catch clean cook video on burbot like 3-4 years ago
Good to finally see some ice! Just got back from a 4 day sleeper shack on lake of the woods. Fishing was a little slow. Ice just got deep enough to put shacks out. But, a large Crack was making it hard to get out very far. But, still got 2 39" northern, 1 32" northern. 6 big burbs! A few walleye, sauger and jumbo perch. Great trip!
Nice day on the ice! I love burbot too but haven't had one in over 20 years. Used to catch them on Green Bay all the time while perch fishing when I was a kid.
Sure was! Im sure there’s some big burbot out on Green Bay, i don’t think I’ve ever caught one out there yet though myself. We just boiled them in 7up and dipped in garlic butter tonight 👌🏼👌🏼so good
@@CNCoutdoors they're good fried too! I remember we fried them once or twice and they were good that way as well. Never tried the seven up though, just boiled them in water like lobster.
Great first day of fresh ice, super timing! Good for you! We got first ice here also in Michigan. Got 12 on Friday. Never tried 7 Up for burbot. Thanks Great Video.
I miss fishing bago....Thanks for the video!...Crappie fishing in the spring is Awesome....Well.....All fishing in the spring is amazing....From panfish, catfish, walleyes, To everything swimming...Good catch though!Ya the weather has been brutal!
I’m surprised that you don’t use a baitrunner or baitfeeder reel for your dead stick? It’s a reel with two different drag systems. Flip one lever and able to put reel in free spool mode or select a little bit of resistance. But when you make ½ to a full revolution on reel crank handle it switches off and back to normal drag settings. I myself have a couple Okuma Ceymar baitfeeder reels and love it. So simple and easy
I’ve been thinking about picking a few up but honestly i just don’t really want to spend the money when my system works just fine. Maybe someday though 😂
Thanks! These ling were all completely stuffed with shad and seaweed. I’m thinking they were eating dying shad laying on bottom or stuck in the weeds. Pretty interesting. Your right though I’m sure they wouldn’t pass up a tasty perch also
Man i wish i can share pics i just found a back water lake wont name it but in north east wisconsin on state land average perch were 11 to 12 inchers was a great day till it got warm for that week.
Love to see hard water! If you’d ever be interested in doing any informal guiding this ice season I’d happily be your first customer lol. I’ve got all the gear I need and have fished bago but would enjoy learning a thing or two from you in person. You’re consistent success is awesome to see, I hope to get there some day 🤝
Definitely good to see!! Sorry but the only people I’m interested in guiding are friends and family. I’m going to try and make my videos a little more educational this year so i hope that helps. Takes a lot of miles, work, and money to figure out the Winnebago system lol but ya gotta love it.
@@CNCoutdoors No worries brother, your videos are already loaded with great advice. I’ve learned a lot from you and I look forward to learning more this season! Good luck out there 👊
They definitely do bite very good at night but somedays in the right situation they’ll bite during the day. When they spawn in February you can catch them all day
Ice is definitely getting soft right now with the warm temps but i think it’ll hold on just long enough for the next cold spell. It’s definitely not a great situation for the sturgeon guys but they will get out. Even if they have to walk out and use pop up shacks
That Ice basically looks like it FLASH Froze considering how much was open just the day before! How much you wanna bet someone will be driving out this weekend! 👀
I didn’t take any video of cooking these but i did do a catch & cook on burbot a couple years ago. ruclips.net/video/TAf1_23Ihmw/видео.htmlsi=2zBrupQ9ka8zNZYR
awesome catch..do those burbots usually bite during the day on that lake? what is the average depth to fish for them n what type of areas would one find the burbots on bago?
Thanks! For this time of year i think it was a little strange to be catching that many burbot, especially during the day. Typically the best time to target them is early- middle of February when they spawn up on shallow rock structure. Then you can catch them all day long but typically 1st and last hour of light is best. Or after dark
Gotta have those days! I’m sure you learned something at least. Winnebago is red hot right now for perch. Pick any bay you want on the west side and fish in 8-12’. Cowling, north asylum, south asylum, fugleburg, black wolf, and Wendts are all good areas
Nice to see some ice in the area finally! Was starting to think the lake wouldn't freeze before battle!
No kidding! This cold snap should build quite a bit of ice this week.
Love the videos as always my dude. You should make a video how to cut up a burbot. Only one I ever did turned out terribly but tasted good lol
Thanks! Hopefully i get the chance to target them again this year. If i do I’ll make a how to video on cleaning them. Otherwise if you look back through my channel i made a catch clean cook video on burbot like 3-4 years ago
Great video. Can’t wait to see more from you!! Keep on fishing 😀

Yes it is!! That sounds like a pretty fun trip, lake of the woods sleeper shack is definitely on our bucket list for sure.
Great video, great detail in your videos as well. Burbot for the win!✌️🏆

Awesome day on the ice!!! GO PACK!!!🏈
Oh yeah! GO PACK!
Spikes and tiny spoons seem to be the jam on Bago for the perch.

Hey i live down the block from lake Winnebago
Good day fishing ! "Go PACK GO" !!!
Go Pack!!! 💚💛
I've always thought Burbot were a night catch only fish.
They definitely do bite very good at night but somedays in the right situation they’ll bite during the day. When they spawn in February you can catch them all day
Try some black beard tear drop jigs!! Cory carries them. Great bait
I’ve heard good things about them!
@@CNCoutdoors you will like them!!!
I've been curious about the ice over there. Do you think the sturgeon spearing season will happen?

@@CNCoutdoors I appreciate the info

Thanks! 8lb line
Awesome video. Those Bubbet look like fun. Do you skin them like a bullhead or catfish? Hope family doing good. Keep up the great videos

With the amount of perch in that water now days there has to be a school of 14-15s ?
Oh definitely. There might even be a state record or 2 swimming around this year

You should learn the definition of big cause that burbot wasn’t big
Felt pretty big on a 26” ultralight perch rod lol sorry i get excited sometimes. Ik they get much bigger obviously..
