  • The giant african land snail (Lissachatina fulica) is the biggest land snail on Earth. The adult snail is around 7 centimetres in height and 20 centimetres or more in length. In many places this snail is a pest of agriculture and households with the ability to transmit both human and plant pathogens. It is also keep as a pet in many countries.

    GALS should never be stacked or placed on top of each other as they can cannibalise their shells

    Im a recent owner of a baby Giant African Land Snail. A close friend of mine kept me an egg out of a clutch, which hatched on the 12th November. My partner and I decided to call them Shelby!

    The temperature and humidity your snails need really depends on what species it is, there are over 20000 species of giant african land snails. Don’t EVER bathe your snail or hold it under flowing water. They can get really stressed and die.

      Crushem if you dont want em, or keep em, they hatch in 1-2 weeks i think

      They are edible, and good for people with high blood pressure. They are not dangerous.

    These snails are so cute theyre the most adorable illegally imported invasive little criminals I've ever seen, god bless african land snails

      That's really quite simple just cover their body's in salt or put salt all around them, they soon srivvle up and die, sad that you feel the need too do this but I know this works, never tried it on my GALS but it works for normal garden snails and slugs so should work on these guys too, sorry minds a pet si won't be covering him in salt. Hope this advise is helpful, don't forget if your talking lots of snails you all gonna need alot of salt too 😂

      ​@@madmuttleyzolladyowtlawski9577they are also invasive in my country. It is t that simple. They breed really rapidly and I'm not exaggerating when I say we eliminate 100's weekly and still no dent in their presence. I'm not a fan of poisoning. Best we can do is eliminate as soon as they are seen.

    Great pet he says.. just watch out for the Rat lung worm disease that causes meningitis ( brain swelling and death) in humans. 😮

      Now I'm scared mine came from Nigeria found him in a box of hybernating snails meant for someone's plate not this one mate he made him self at home escaped from his tank took me over hour too follow all his trails but found sleeping safely in my slipper😂😂😂
