Thank you! And yes it was soooo heavy. Yeah anything over 20km starts to get super tough - it's mainly all the hours in a day spent carrying a heavy load! But what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger, right?!
Woohooo!!! Been dying for the next adventure! I keep rewatching your Bibbulmun series in anticipation of my own E2E starting, looking forward to the Hume & Hovell series
@@GreatWalksoftheWorld thank you so much! Hoping to kick off April 1st and be mid way by my Birthday on the 15th 🤞🤞 Still watch your Bibb series on almost a weekly basis, absolutely love it! Really enjoyed the H & H series also
WOO! Just yesterday I was rewatching your Kiandra to Kosciuszko videos as I prepare for my own attempt this Summer (fire gods willing) and was lamenting a lack of new Great Walks of the World videos. I thought the worst when I realised your website was gone too, so I'm very glad to see this episode. I am a repeat viewer of your Bibb series (to me, the gold standard for RUclips hiking series) and y'all were a big inspiration for my own switch from blogging to video making on RUclips! Glad to see you back!
Covid kind of killed us. We had to cancel a bunch of planned trips and then new commitments made it hard to restart. Thanks for the support. We're gearing back up again, and Steve will soon be going overseas for a hike to finally make it international.
@@GreatWalksoftheWorld I hear you, and totally understandable. I had grand plans and momentum with my hiking and blogging that was completely killed, and both of my big interstates trips when things were looking better were cancelled just days before departure thanks to first the Delta wave and then Omicron. And then I had new commitments as a father than have meant some of those plans are now pushed into the distance future. Oh well. Looking forward to seeing your future adventures, but also glad that I now have a stack of new GWotW content to binge in the short term at least :)
@@thelongwaysbetter HnH was something we shot before the bib and it's a bit rough. Certainly not the polish of the Bib. Hopefully I can edit weeks 2 and 3 soon, as the filming got better as we went. Shame about your trips, but congrats on the bub. :) A future hiking companion no doubt
Hi Caroline, great to see you on another Oz hike! I haven't watched the rest of this trail's vids to see what you thought of this trail yet, but I have to say The Hume and Hovell is my LEAST favorite backpacking trail in Australia. Wait, strike that. I REALLY hated this trail! It started nice enough, but then it just became a series of dreary, pointless, boring road walks. For reference, and just in case someone reading this comment is looking for some hiking ideas for Australia, here is the Australian trails part of my CV, from favorite to a bit less favorite. Bibbulmun, Larapinta, The Great North Walk, The Great South West Walk, Six Foot Track, Cape to Cape. The H&H Walk is all alone on my "Don't waste your time on this trail list".
Hey! Thanks for sharing. I will be honest - H&H was not my favourite trail either. But, it really toughened me up - it was my first ever proper long distance hike. I gained so much physical and mental strength and resilience. H&H got me fully prepared for the successful completion of the Bibbulmun Track (and the unexpected emergency there too!)
Caroline makes a great video. I’ve got a mate Steve who does these kind of walks and I’m always encouraging him to start a RUclips channel to share them.
To be honest, it's awful. We did it to show the whole track, but many people skip it and start at Wee Jasper or Fitzpatrick Trailhead. The walk to Tumut is nice, and then it's mainly bush tracks and fire trail until a day out from Albury where it's road again.
@jeffsparkes1517 Fair enough. It's rough and not the greatest, that's why it was parked for a while. We shot this before the Bibb series. But hopefully some people will enjoy and get a sense of what the track was like.
Do you want a refund you sound like you had to pay to watch it and didnt get your moneys worth ,she went to the trouble of doing the videos for free for the public to enjoy, lm sure its not easy .anyway l enjoyed it, but yes the bibblmun was probably the best.
great to see a new series on youtube, i have missed you.
Hi Steve and Caroline so glad to see your faces again 😊 much love
Hey mate, nice to hear from you. Hope all is well and you've had some more adventures.
Great to see you out on the trail again guys! Caroline, your pack looks so heavy!!😳 Well done though, 32km day 2 would hurt me too.
Thank you! And yes it was soooo heavy. Yeah anything over 20km starts to get super tough - it's mainly all the hours in a day spent carrying a heavy load! But what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger, right?!

We hope you have an amazing time. I only have week 1 as a rough cut but thought it was being wasted hidden away. I'll try and get the rest cut soon.

What about doing the Heysen trail in south Australia that goes through the flinders rangers, that would be great to watch
Would love to but at the moment it's finding the time.
Oh yes I would love to see you do this one as well.

Yeah they should do it. Share adventures and encourage people to hike.
Oh, I'm not sure if I liked the look of day one and two 🤔 lots of road walking.
I'm glad you are back doing the videos again 😊

@GreatWalksoftheWorld so glad you showed this section, thank you for doing it.
Are you serious!?!?!???
About?
Totally agree I was so disappointed after the awesome content and scenery of the other series.
Gave up watching 😮

@@GreatWalksoftheWorld that you’re back making more amazing content!!! Is this a dream???
