Thanks for this tutorial. Nice spa my man. First time owning one and I'm about ready to shut it down. Didn't really know how much work to put into it or if it needed something specific. Looks easy enough.
What I learned later was that if you keep it empty for a long period of time. Your rubber seals will shrink or even pop if they are old. When I refilled the tub a few months later, I had a leak for almost a month. It took a while for the seals to expand again. I don't empty it for the Summer no more.
This is just a video on basic draining of a hot tub. There's still water in the lines that could get funky just sitting there over the summer. How do you get that water out?
I personally have not removed any water from inside the hoses, that didn't drain by gravity. I suggest if you want the hoses completely empty, you would need to blow out the lines with an airtank. Or disconnect the hoses inside of the walls. But, that sounds like it would create future problems by tampering with the connections. I would stick to gravity draining unless you are removing the hottub.
