My grandpa has a 1960 International 434 Diesel runs great and drives very awesome the Diesel 434s are more common in Europe, the Nordic states and UK, greetings from Finland 😁
Good day Dave from Ontario. A neighbour has 444 gas for sale, can't get it running right R those tractors prone to have problems with either distributor or carburator . R those down draught just s good as up draft. Thanks
The newest a 444 gas could be is somewhere around '74-76 so around 50 years old and everything wears out over time. The distributor and especially the carburetor are a couple of wear items that are problematic with those tractors, not easy to find and that British Zenith carb was always finnicky. There have been after-market carbs available at one time or another but they're around $900. Ontario used tractor parts may still be able to get them. 519-523-4922 Take care Don!
Hi Dave, I am in the Ottawa valley and am working on my 354 international. I'm pretty sure my govenor is not functioning as well. Any idea where I might be able to source one out? Also is it possible to diagnose the problem without taking it off completely? Any input would be great thanks!
First thing, make sure the linkage from the governor to the carburetor is set properly. If it still is not working you can take the plate off the side of the governor to see if the spring is broken. If you need parts you can contact me, sales@chowntractorparts.com Thanks for watching!
i own a 434 too and i must say, goddamn! i thought mine was beat up, yours must have been in a full on crash since the engine had been replaced at some point... nice video tho :)

The diesels are more common here also but there are still quite a number of the gassers left. Thanks for watching!
Great video Dave, I'll keep it in my backpocket for my own 434!
I am glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
What was the problem with the original governor. Just wondering why it wasn't working or if it was rebuildable.
Thanks Bud👍
I haven't checked yet, the customer brought me the tractor and another governor so I changed it for him. Thanks for watching!

Was there ever a proper IH tool for adjusting the water pump pulley? I used a hammer and brass drift while thinking ‘there must be a better way’.
Not that I have seen, there may have been a dealer tool for it but I have never seen one. Thanks for watching!
