Special thanks goes to www.youtube.com/@GaryAfterlife for making an exclusive and powerful remix for this trailer!
Visit his channel and watch his video of the remix. I donated him some exclusive static camera sceneries of the redux versions of Dig and Dug ruclips.net/video/T6AvwsAo8y0/видео.html
And thanks to all the people who join my livestreams and to the donators who support my work!
Also without all the effort and the work @oldunreal.com put into the unofficial 227 patch development for Unreal, this project wouldn’t exist!
And in general thank you all for your patient and mental support ❤
O... Yeah ! My Respect.
Sky town looks absolutely incredible! 🤩
Krull0r I'm so proud to be featured with your amazing work. So much talent and skill in the creation of your worlds. Honestly thank you for taking an interest in my music, it's been an honor and a privilege. :)
Thank you so much Krull0r for all your stellar work.
Unfortunately, Epic Games are still unable to pull their greedy nose out of their Fortnite moneybag and remake the game that actually brought them where they are now.
Maybe it's time for you to contact folks at Nightdive Studios for a collab? Just like you, they are real passionate about giving new life to legendary games of the past.
Moreover, they have publicity and resource to get folks like CliffyB and Siren on board.
Congratulations Krull0r! This trailer has already 28k views after just 5 days where the previous has 30k after 5 years!
Krull0r the lonely warrior from the Vortex Rikers that will save Unreal for us all!
Beautifully said! 🍺🍺
Thank you! Well said! ❤
Tru he returned to napali start war agains Skraarj with prisoner 849 !
Wow. It's been 25 years... I'm old. But not too old for this game.
25 years, that is....unreal.

Invigorating comment 💪
To this day, Unreal remains one of the most atmospheric games I have ever played. The gameplay still is quite good, albeit the way the story was delivered with these logfiles was rather dull. But the music. The colourful graphics. The lovingly crafted environments.... The Nali. Their world. It sure is still just as unique and breathtaking as it had been then. So I'm looking forward to any way to relive that.
nipple hairs
Cyberpunk2077 has logs much in the same way to expand its lore. Neeless to say ..looking forward to this coming out after it's been so lovingly curated thanks to Krullor...when its ready :D
Thank you very much for this nice comment! I can agree by 100 percent!
Have a great weekend :)
No one plays Unreal for the story.
@@AlphaZeroX96 I did just that playing blind just over 2 weeks ago and got as much enjoyment out of it as I could. Would say that deliberately paying attention to what world building was present in the manual and in the data logs was a primary factor in getting me invested in the adventure as much as I did. It was enough to get the imagination going.
True, I was able to quickly notice that it obviously wasn't quite what I was used to coming from the likes of Valve's shooters created in later years but I still wanted to like it. Eventually I just adjusted my mindset to something from before I was used to being spoiled with narrative driven storytelling, and by the time of the Lonely Abbey/ISV-Kran I was rather accustomed to the way Unreal does its storytelling. I'd say it peaked around Nali Haven and Bluff Eversmoking for me in that aspect. And the interactions with NPCs and set pieces also helped in ways that genuinely surprised me, like with the Mercenaries rolling the dice or whatever for example. Stuff like that I really appreciated.
The only reservation I kind of had was the ending portion of the game, which felt like it was kind of missing a few things. Though it probably didn't help that I beat the final boss on my first attempt in a tense and grueling battle with my weaker weapons, only to accidentally double tap off the edge on my way to the escape pod without having saved beforehand. So I repeated the fight, but this time using the Flak Cannon and it was a cakewalk on hard difficulty. Then instead of trying to jump up to some platform I went through the corridor and somewhat anti-climactically realized this is where that godlike end title theme plays. Only to realize there are no end credits, and yeah.
I did load up Return To Na Pali afterwards to not leave on a sour note like that, and was pleasantly surprised to see a cutscene and actual dialogue from the same voice actors. So I'm looking forward to seeing what is up there now.
This is why I love PC gaming and it's community, keeping classics like these alive decades after the games were released.
God, I still remember it like it was yesterday - It was the early summer of 1998. and I was 14, just managed to somehow nag my parents into buying me a 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics...Then firing up Unreal for the first time, after only seeing 3-4 screenshots in the local computer magazine...while my mom was calling me from the dining room to come to lunch, I just couldn't hear her (I mean, I could and I did, but at the same time, just - didn't...) as my jaw was on the floor, because I couldn't believe what was going on on the screen. That legendary castle fly-by...And then, later, the first step outside, on the surface of Na Pali. Nothing since then, - and I mean *nothing* - ever gave me that feeling of being completely mesmerized by the graphics, music and the atmosphere (Crysis in 2007. _maybe_ came close, but only visually). It was just something else.
And now I'm certain that when the Redux comes out, I'm taking time off work to play it. I'm not kidding. :) Krull0r, my man, you're absolutely killing it!🍺🍺🍺🍺
You just described my experience so perfectly, it's Unreal! Everything you've said including about Crysis being good visually, but different, and Unreal being Unreal - is 1000% fact! Thank you for sharing the thought!
Same for all of us, man! THE SAME!
@@SafyreWorks Cool! So glad to see there are so many others who share the same experience. It's just one of those things that stay with you to till the rest of your days.🍻
@@alfiorossi467 Yep! As I said to another fellow "Unrealer" (yes, that's a word, I just came up with it xD) - this particular experience is one of those that really stay with you permanently. 🍺
@@RandomlyDrumming So true! As is the term "Unrealer" - to capture the magnificent common experience. I just re-read your comment, and went through the spine chilling experience in my head again. The opening Fly by, waking up inside Vortex Rikers, music kicking in when entering the deck, stepping out of Vortex Rikers, hearing Dusk Horizon kick in as I took in the two suns, the cliff, the lake, the waterfall in the distance - all in Voodoo 3 glory - Gosh I knew it was going to be an experience of a lifetime! And it certainly was. Almost like the experience of Unreal is the only real thing, and this real life is what is imaginary! Shout out to all the Unrealers!
Unreal Redux is a love letter.
To an entire era of gaming and our youth :D
This rework is beyond measure. 10/10. This is simply the best version of Unreal ever made by human kind. Thank you for all blood, tears and sweat. That is incomrehensible amount of work
Praise be upon this, and Vandora.
Bravo! Bravo!
Unreal Forever. 🎆
Incredible work! I'm sure this'll become the definitive way to play Unreal for the decades to come!
As someone who remembers exactly how amazing Unreal was the first time I played it back in '98, I can only say thank you for working on this incredible looking update!
Not only have you brought the original game back to life. You've kept it faithful to the original, not even A+ developers manage this. Looking forward to playing it as its so hard to find the original 👍 and hopefully this this will come with some new excitement 🤣😉
Keep on doing what Epic decided not to do!
Happy 25th Anniversary to a beloved game.
-Epic, why did you kill it off? ;_;-
Okay, so I rewatched it for like 7th time, and it's still not enough. I think I'm in love. But for real, that's master craftsmanship. Can't wait to try it out!
I can’t wait for this trailer to drop!
Damn!! I've kept myself on hold to play Unreal Gold only to play it with this Remaster!!! Looks insane, will be a mad trip once it's completed.
Also, the game looks more atmospheric now.
seeing this makes me more mad that epic delisted the games. this is so damn cool
Yeah baby, get excited for this one...trust me ;)
Edit: Many thanks for the support just noticed in the description (= really appreciate everything, cheers bro!
Thank you so much for the remix! I had so much fun cutting the video material and sync it to your remix!
I’ve also added a link to your RUclips channel in the end card + there will be a direct link to your remix once it’s uploaded after the premiere.
I also added a pinned comment under the video which mentions you :)
Thank you 🎊 🎉

Dude your mixes are incredible! Amazing watching this all gradually coalescing into absolute Magic! Cheers
@@johndenise5639 I appreciate the kind words (= I thank Krull0r for the amazing graphic and visual skill that helps carry my remix. 🙏🌠🔊🎶
I first explored the world of Na Pali at 14 on my parent's old Pentium 3 tower, can't wait to do it again at the ripe young age of 35! Thank you for putting this much love and care into the flawed gem that Epic forgot.
Looks great! Can't wait to play!
WOW! Music, graphics, feelings - take my money :-)
Can't wait to see this finished, it's like reliving my high school years when begging my parents for a Voodoo 2 card and waited for weeks at Fry's Electronic to drop the price for Unreal back in the 2000 era.
Absolutely stunning work.
I'm working on a huge beefy review of the original Unreal, perfect timing to see this lol. I'll definitely sent people this way so they can see this incredible project too!
This is seriously impressive. It looks like it'll make the already incredible experience of Unreal, even more... Unreal ;D
Still to this day, the game is one of the most atmospheric I've ever played. And one of the most influential to me as a game/level designer. Thank you so much for your work on this!
Thank you so much!
Sounds Awesome! Can’t wait for it! If you have a final review video I could share it in my community section :)
Also feel free to showcase some unreal redux footage or screenshots in your video 😊
Take care and thanks for your motivating words!
Omg this looks so sick! This is how the game looks in our heads as kids! Kudos! Bravo! Voila!
Exactly this was my intention ;) Reworking everything how I remembered it as kid :D I really appreciate you like my interpretation of visuals ;)
Redux is probably the most gorgeous mod for Unreal so far, you always manage to make areas look new yet very familiar, amazing work as usual!
The work you've been doing is nothing short of incredible. I played Unreal kind of late, 2009 for my first time through it despite being a massive UT fan since 1999. And it still grabbed me in a way very few games, let alone shooters, ever have. There's something very special about it, and what you're doing with the Redux makes it obvious that you... get it, for lack of a better phrase. You see the magic of it hidden behind "just another pre-Half-Life shooter." It's so atmospheric, so incredibly well conceptualized, and what you're doing just brings all of that even more to the forefront. This is excellent work, I'm so glad I found the project, and I've loved seeing the progress on it.
And just remember, Epic doesn’t want your money! They don’t want you to pay for this game! They don’t give you an option to pay for this game! But you should still play it! Even if you don’t have it! You could still have it anyway! Epic doesn’t care!
I don't know what's up with Epic. I had so much respect for them, their engine made our gaming lives so much better. But now they're acting like sellouts - the whole UT4 fiasco, Forknife, the Epic Store shenanigans, the removal of the Unreal franchise from stores... As my father always says, money destroys people - sounds simple minded, but there's so much truth to it.
This is Unreal.
Most important thing: this game has an awesome OST.
Oh. My. God. You're are doing a really awesome job here, thanks for all your patience, progress, ideas, and for keepin Unreal alive... you're the man!!
If Epic don't make Unreal remaster, sure the community does, and they probably do it better.
This is incredible, just incredible. Keep up the good work.
It's a childhood memory coming true...
It's looks so good, I refuse to believe that this is UE1, the lighting, the particles, the effects...You nailed everything! It's amazing :D
Can't wait to play this!
Want to see another case of UE1 pushed beyond the limit, play Deus Ex: Revision.
@@rodrigogirao8344 I played it, Impressive too :)
DNF2001 is another case of pushing the engine to the next level.
UE1 is powerful for its age, it's just that for the time they had to limit things in order to work on older devices, so later on the engine showed quite some power.
Many modders and if you play some map packs you can see some interesting graphics.
So this is an other push forward for the texturing and effects :)
Really happy people are still caring about this Game after so much time! Thanks for this brother!
This is nice :) Waiting for the DAY! :)
Unreal is one of the best games ever made. I replay it every 2 or 3 years, and every time i try to upgrade it in some way, be it higher resolution, higher framerate, texture mods, ultrawide screen, ambilight backlighting on my monitor, maybe even VR someday. So, i'm really excited for this, been following the project for a while now. But, what is this trailer about? Can we expect a release soon(ish)?
Before working on this project I used to replay unreal a lot. I’ve got addicted to it’s general atmosphere, music and it’s world.
Sadly there is no release soon. Mental health issues and exhaustion caused a massive delay to the project.
Right now I’m working on Bluff Eversmoking. So It’s not that far to the end of the game :)
@@Krull0r Take care of yourself
I know how bad mental health can be ...
@@Krull0r I know how exhausting and even damaging big projects can be, you gotta be careful. Please take care of yourself, and don't rush it. Better a long delayed project than an abandoned project, that's my stance, especially for passion stuff. All the best wishes, Krull0r!
I can relate to this. The first game I tried my OLED display on last year was Unreal :)
@@Krull0r Don't worry Krull0r, you're making great progress.
Beautiful
Keep up the amazing work sir, so excited to play this when it drops ❤
Everytime i see one of these teaser videos, i'm reminded how you have the perfect vision for this redux. Everything you've added to the original game feels completely aligned with the spirit of unreal. I'm also glad this isn't being made on the new unreal engine. Both because it would probably feel too different, but also because this is the best example of how even a dated graphics engine can still produce stunning lighting and visuals. Sometimes you just need the right artist behind the brush.
i can't imagine the life i'll be leading when this finally releases, but i eagerly await that day.
Man..there's so much detail in this trailer, i can pass an hour looking to every frame, gorgeous work Krull0r!
Wow, this trailer is just perfect
I had lots of fun making it! I guess the results reflects this ;) 🎉
Thank you very much 😊
Holy moly. I really need to dust off my old game disc soon.
Great job, Krull 'n Gary!
@Krull0r you're making good job. Don't stop.
Happy Unreal98 Anniversary!!!!
I'm going to do an Unreal98 project in UT99, which then UT99 is actually modified Unreal98 based on v224.
So I decided to do like "UT_Unreali_V224" and "UT_UnrealShare_V224" + EXTRA
The names are not final, still to decide the names
Necto releases his UT99 remastered soundtrack. Unreal Redux gets a new trailer. Good day to be an Unreal fan. 🤩
This is great - MUCH improved since your excellent 20th Anniversary trailer from 5 years ago. Just imagine how awesome it will look in the 30th Anniversary trailer, 5 years from now!
Hehe I totally hope I’ll have it released before the 30th anniversary.
So sorry that it takes so damn long.
@@Krull0r Good things take time - you should consider creating a Patreon for general donations to help you along.
Yes! YES!!!! *Y*E*S*!!!!!!!!!! Here we go!!!!
Too often one of the best FPS of all time what is forgotten. This title brought us an great engine, multiplayer and a planet of adventures. We didn't have the game available on an old machine in its glory days, and my uncle didn't buy it later either. But the familiarity of UT99 drove me in 2021 to start my first playthrough of the game. And damn the game, it's still good in this days.
And I will be waiting anxiously for this Redux.
I’m really looking forward to seeing this!
Such art, such dedication, such beauty, such commitment!
Everything is astounding!
This game has not been delisted from our hearts!
You continue to amazing us...Unreal 4 ever!
After 25 years, this is still one of the greatest games ever made and one landmark that carried 3D gaming to the 21st century.
To the Unreal community, to Straylight Productions, Andrew Sega, Cliff and the Gang: Thank you so much for making this the definite 3D experience the video game industry needed.
Thank you so much to the UT Admin crew like Krull0r in keeping this game alive when Tim decided to pull the plug.
#GoneNeverForgotten
I listen to trance music because once I fell in love with Unreal music
I can relate :) I used to listen to trance back then till now because of game music 🎵 😊
Loved this! Congrats for the amazing work!
I think you’re the last Epic Megagames developer, or better, you are the last real 90s developer. Thank you so much for your effort, I wish I could help somehow. You are great and you’re making a great job. a 90s kid.
Can't wait to play it! Amazing work mate!
I see you've reworked the Passage level before the chizra temple a bit, it's nice to see you're revisiting the old levels to make them better.
CONGRATULATIONS KrullOr!!!
One word: Amazing!
I am not particularly a fan of Unreal itself (more of a UT99 guy myself), but I am looking forward to play Unreal Redux once it gets released.
Also, I liked a lot how your pans and camera movements in the video were done in the same style as the pan from the Unreal intro itself. :D
The editing was really top-notch.
Thank you very much ❤❤❤ means much to me to hear that from your side 🥹
OUT.
FUCKING.
STANDING!!!
❤❤❤
Absolutely stunning, doing gods work!
Im friggin speechless! Amazing work Krull and another banger by Gary!
I held off on watching this video until I was done finishing Unreal for the first time around the night of the anniversary, but wow. I honestly didn't think you could make the lighting in this game much better than it was already. This is definitely going to warrant a re-play of this campaign for me, once I am done with Return To Na Pali.
The video makes you feel like you've come home. Warm in my chest :)
Your work gives hope that the Unreal has a future =) You feel the vibe well. Thank you!
Thank you very much! I’m really happy you have this feeling while watching the trailer!
It feels great and motivating reading this.
A few more years and you can experience Unreal once more like your first play-through. Also it will be coop compatible like the original , so you can experience it together with your friends 😃
Take care 😊
Krull0r, my hero - the One Man Army in the Unreal Universe. Thank you for this trailer. I'll enqueue the hell out of it on Jungle TV for you 💜
That was impressive! Great job!
This game deserved the treatment and I'm glad it's turning out so cool! It's so satisfying to see each original bland area being beautified, the VFX and well-placed fog in general look amazing too! Moving boxes are now lifting boxes, and using the translocator as an actual 3D dynamic object is a refreshing feel and a nice flex of UE1 dominance I haven't seen elsewhere. I'm definitively finishing the game with this mod and stream for my friends while at it. 😁
Edit: I just noticed the dedicated use button. Something I didn't notice but it's a VERY welcome thing over Q1 body-pushing buttons!
This looks absolutely beautiful. Pat yourself on the back because this is great work. I was grinning from ear to ear watching this.
Damn, this is looking quite amazing! Can't wait!
Wow! Can't believe it's been that long since it first came out 😯
Wow !
It's insane ... I love the lights and the details.
25 years of glorious blood sweat and frags!
Шикарно! Моя любимая игра! Часами бродил по каждой локации, изучал... В оригинальной игре очень хорошо создана атмосфера. Звуки, музыка. Чувствуется, что игру создавали с любовью 😊
Another absolute banger ost remix by Gary Afterlife 🤟
I'm lookiing forward, and patiently for this release! Unreal was one of my favourite games back in 2002~2003ish back in the days with my AMD Duron 1.0 lol, and nothing i saw after it made me forget this incredible game! Congratz, and a big thank you for this awesome work so far XD
Unreal : The Game of My Life
Brilliant work as always, I cannot wait to play this.
So can't wait to revisit Unreal through this remaster.
Ive watched you work on this for years now, keep up the good work, you are a hero to the Unreal community, unlike other classic FPS titles, Unreal franchise was abandoned by its owner, I wish this game got the same treatment officially but Epic is not what it was back then. Anyways, so looking forward to this version of Unreal
Great job my friend, cant wait to play it!
Awesome ❤
I remember this game blew me away when I first saw it. I remember screen capturing the opening flythrough just use as a background picture on my CRT monitor.
This looks fantastic. I'm really looking forward to it.
Man, I'm uh... I'm not gonna say I grew up with this game. Legit, I got it for free when it turned 20, but I guess I still can say that I had a great time playing it and still have some memories about it.
As much as I really liked the visuals and ngl, it made me wanna try the game again with this mod enabled someday... I got a slight bit disappointed on the floating island bit.
When I got to that level for the first time in my life, I felt truly mesmerised looking at all the other floating islands around me, topped with a fully clean night sky with both the moons above *and* the clouds right below.
As impressive as it looks in the Redux, I really wish the atmosphere (for this level specifically) was kept the same as in the original.
Either way, great job so far and really looking forward to this mod reaching the end of its journey.
Absolutely breathtaking! Another good reason to play the best FPS ever (in my opinion). Hopefully Return To Na Pali will receive the same treatment in future.
Sadly I won’t touch Return to NaPali. After Unreal Redux. I’ll switch to the newer engine and work on my own games :)
Felicitaciones por tu enorme esfuerzo amigo, lo esperaré con ansias el día de lanzamiento.

Ooooh I am looking forward to this.
Beautiful work!
Can't wait until this is finished. It looks epic! keep up the great work mate!
EPIC Trailer, can't wait to play the Beta ;)
Go on and may the force be with you!
Looks amazing def my fave fps from 90s still
Thank you for this, great work!
IMHO this is one of the best games of all time!
That's a banging remix of Shared Dig!
完成されるのが本当に待ち遠しいです!
Fantastic!
Hope Unreal gets the spotlight it deserves with Unreal Redux, in my opinion a slightly better shooter than Half-Life since I like the enemy AI way better and the projectile focused combat offers more variety than most hit scan weapons in HL. Also the atmosphere and music gets me everytime I boot up the game. Sad Epic seems to have abandoned it :(
