Okay, ciao ragazzo inglese che sta leggendo il mio commento e che non starà capendo niente! È bello confonderti ahhahaha. Comunque raga gli Italiani sono ovunqueee🤷♀️
I have a funny story about a foreigner speaking English: I had a coworker who was Filipino and learning English. She would just be talking to us and would mispronounce whatever word and we never corrected her. Then one day she said "Do I pronounce that right?" And I said "Well..no" and she said "how come you never correct me?!!" But I hated correcting her because the way she pronounced it was so cute and she said "I want to be correct not cute!!" Haha it was so funny.
As much as you may not want to correct someone, it's better that you do because it's better for them and so when they're talking to other people, they can be understood or not sound funny and have people make fun of them or anything. I know that when I was learning Spanish, I would want people to correct me if I said something wrong because I was really trying to learn the language and wanted to speak it as perfectly as I could.
I had an Italian teacher when I lived in Italy who said the word “sword” by pronouncing every letter and it was funny. I also had an Italian friend there who said “cheek butt” instead of “butt cheek” 😅😅 their mistakes are the best!
Poor guy!!! the English language is so tough because of it taking so many other words from other languages.... to his credit, he did use typical English pronunciation with most words.
@@Musettoblu i was not criticizing the boy, obviously. I was saying that english is relatively simple: it's true that some words are difficolt to pronoun, but every languages have their own and the english language has the easiest grammar! Monica Mae haha right but i’m from the united states where we don’t learn any other languages except for english until high school and it isn’t required at the high school in my neighborhood so it’s just new to me
I love that I can see the logic behind Anotonio's pronunciation of anemone! He knows "one" in English, so that's how he thought to pronounce it. English is so hard because the words have so many different sources! You have hyperbole, epitome, anemone from Greek; subtle and queue from French; and then Yosemite from Utian, a Native American language. They all end in "e" but have different pronunciations based on their etymology! No wonder it's confusing!!!
I really quite like the chemistry between the two of you, Sophie, the mutual familial love makes for a great environment for learning! Having said this, and as a self-proclaimed "grammarist", some issue came about with the example of hyperbole; "I'd like a drop of wine" would be a euphemism (antynonymous with hyperbole), however if you were to say something like "I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse" or "I'm so thirsty, I could drink a lake", these would be hyperbolic statements. Listen I love English logic myself as an Italian student. Cuz you can create verbs out of words and you're so versatile . Though what run us crazy is the fact you don't have strict rules to pronounce things . Example : the last word was a mix with anem + the word one. In Italian you can pronounce everything correctly if you know grammar, all exceptions are scheduled in rules, in English instead you need to know a word to pronounce it. Edit : you can misspronounce words because we're lazy and we do not write stress marks. For an Italian there is no point if writing queue if you're pronouncing only que, that's literally a waste of time. Good video
