One of the perks of being 80 is that I don’t have to worry about trends. The trick to looking good when you get older is being true to yourself and wearing what is comfortable and makes you. happy.
My friend and I are in our late 70’s. When we shop for clothing my friend will say “oh, no, that’s an old ladies top”. I always reply “and we don’t know any old ladies”.
Well at 71 years old, I am finding I am not as concerned about looking younger. I am struggling with not being able to do the things I did when I was younger.
@@parishadnz.6048 , there is no such thing as ”over aged”. (I could say everyone who is under my age is ”under-aged”. ) On the other hand, style is not a matter of trends. I see so many boring, yet very trendy, uniforms in the street that it makes me yawn (and laugh sometimes). The beauty a woman brings in the world is not about clothes and makeup. A woman can shine through any clothes if she is happy and fulfilled. As to this film, the clothes Diana does not agree with are like that mainly because they create a disbalance in proportions or do not fit in terms of color. Not coordinating is something else.
It is when you don't care about your age anymore that you shine the most. Being hootless and free makes you irresistible, even at 70! being self-conscious about aging and trying to fight it makes it worse. This said, stay fit, thin, eat clean and well and watch your posture.
@@ileanamuntean7338 , for sure. In my world, so do vey short skirts (which we call ”handkerchiefs”), but for more practical reasons, like not being able to bend, if needed, without showing your underwear. But that is not what I meant. On style, you do not ”have to” follow any trends. Striped blouses and fluid black pants are quite classic and so are quite a lot of things shown here. Wearing a bag that does not fit the pants is a matter of style and personal choice. BUT that is not what I meant. Learn what suits and balances your body and you will always look nice. Learn what colors suit you (not necessarily ”a color of the year”) and you will always look radiant. Be clean and you will look good. You can choose an urban bohemian style, if that suits you and your lifestyle - not extra-polished, but may be as difficult to achieve (to look like you are fresh out of bed yet not sloppy). And I started from someone calling a lady ”over-aged”. Rudeness never makes a woman attractive or beautiful.
It’s not about how to look younger, more how to look your best by not dressing the way that makes you look dated and older than you are. I think we live in such a beautiful time that women are not age limited anymore, and I a lot of women show how you can look fabulous and feel super confident and inspired at any age, it’s really motivating. Totally agree with ur approach on positive thinking 🤗
I have to admit, I so dislike the cut away trend. It looks cheap and tacky, maybe for teenagers but not on classy women. Exposing so much skin does not make one look younger.
Second outfit could be 'fixed' by adding a belt. I am in the 'wear what makes you happy' camp of style. No one needs to keep up with trends. Trends are not your personal style, they are the fashion industry's style. If you are happy and comfortable in what you wear, you are never 'outdated' or look 'old'. You look like you. The best advice - dress for your body type, not matter what your personal style is.
I totally agree! It’s exactly what I try to explain in all my videos. As for trends - trend injection is a way to update your wardrobe, to have fun, experiment, try something new and of course just to be aware what is actual for the moment.
I think it needs to be a mix, balance not of wearing clothes that align with your personality because it's truly a tool to express who we are from the inside and at the same time it's very important to wear clothes that flatter your body shape. Both need to be mastered by everyone!❤️
This all looks so great, however, my face sure doesn’t look that young, never will now. Everything was shown on women who do not have the “mature” figure that most of us have. My body is never going to look that way again. None of those clothes would look good on a petite person unless they were made proportional in the first place. A mini skirt at our ages? Not that many of us could would try to do that. Gucci bag?😂😂 I prefer to have food on the table. All of this is lovely, but this is not for a lot of our real worlds, only for women who can afford it and move in those circles. Where I can afford to shop, what is available there makes it extremely difficult to follow these rules. I loved watching this, but would appreciate some real world make overs. I’ll get downvoted and negative replies, so be it.
Lynn, you are absolutely right. I am not going to fight my age by wearing mini-skirts or cold-shoulder tops. But if I dress for my 5'2" rectangular shape, keep up good haircut, use minimal makeup, and follow some classic rules, I can style get compliments well into my 80s.
@@AllergicToFantasy I thought I was the only one who actually loved some "wrong" looks.. In my opinion she doesn't look bad in any of "outdated" examples, just more relaxed and less sophisticated yet that's not necessary a bad thing.
I wear skirts that come to my knees, not mini, and I have good legs. But I think mini skirts don't look elegant. As for designer bags, I refuse to spend that kind of money - you can get a nice bag in an attractive style for little money. It's about the shape of the bag. I also shop second-hand - stores and online - lots of great clothing being sold by people. The only thing I buy new anymore is shoes.
Ladies I’m up there too, but this video didn’t say it was for older women. When we watch these videos we have to realize they are for younger women too not just us over 50. There are a lot of older women who do these videos you can watch that wear clothes for older women. Just take the good advice you get from all of them and combine them.
I agree that as you get older the whole "disguise your body in baggy stuff" is boring and unnecessary because looking glamorous is not just about looking shaggable. For that reason, I avoid the "let's look like I don't care and mismatch everything" trend. I prefer not to look as if I've just randomnly grabbed anything in the sale and thrown it all in at once. My clothes are considered, quality and co-ordinated items and that's what makes them classic.
❤ I really like that you show the outfit that needs improving first, and then easy ways to update it. Thank you for giving the examples and making it easy and understandable!
This video was incredibly helpful. I found myself saying “Wow!” probably way too often (am I really doing so many things wrong? Lol) as you showed the transformation of an outfit that can be achieved w just few tweaks. As a petite woman just over 50, would love to see what you could do style-wise for us shorter girls with athletic build: I’m always hoping to look more feminine, and elongate my frame/legs.
Thank you! So glad it was helpful! As for videos for petite I am planning to do videos with women of different heights and shape. My first one is planned for next week! 😀
Unlike negative (or skeptical or dismissive) commenters, I greatly appreciate this helpfully informative video, and I have no problem with the channel's approach to and attitude toward looking older. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being older and looking it, but why why not be conscious of the differing impressions that certain shapes and color combinations create? Why unknowingly exaggerate looking older, when it's just as easy and comfy not to look older? I find that this video immediately empowers me to take basic actions without purchasing a single thing, even though I don't possess this person's physique, and never will. Clothes and style don't make the person, but my experience here in NYC repeatedly reminds me that my style DRASTICALLY affects the impression I make out there among strangers, and also among friends. When my style is, let's say, sharper, the vibe directed at me is simply more positive. As for the impression that others' appearance makes upon me, I don't go around noticing negatives, as people's humanity is more important to me than their appearance. But I DO notice positives -- a fresh haircut, a flattering top, a cool bag, an overall "together" look, etc. Over the holidays (Dec. 2022), the rare sight of a beautifully attired older couple one evening on the subway was so striking that I interrupted them to compliment them, and when I did, it turned out that the rest of our end of the subway car agreed with me -- because they all started complimenting the couple, too. I mean, just by their look (I wish I had taken a photo!) they made such a positive contribution to the well-being of me and my fellow subway travellers. It wasn't that they were ostentatious. It was rather that they were put together -- both individually and as a pair -- with a few special notes that made their overall appearance sing, as it were. Anyway. Thank you, channel, for your video. I appreciate it!
Love your video and your styling suggestions and color choices! You rocked every outfit. It’s always good to be our best and healthiest selves at any age. Forever young. Thank you!
I’m 62 and I think the worst item sold to my age group is a long, tunic length top, shirt or sweater. About 20 years ago I purged all of mine and instantly looked better-proprtioned, thinner and younger. I tuck in all my tops and don’t wear those long sweaters, either. I like “cropped” ones, they just cover my waistband, because I’m short. Also, any capri pants must go.
@@EvangeliseGood I think a lot of us in our age group were taught something about covering the groin area as some kind of "modesty"??? especially with pants ... but it is not a look that ages well. I think wearing clothes that fit well rather than hanging loosely is just a better look all round.
I just lost 50 lb. Now I don't want to wear tunics anymore, but they're everywhere and it's hard to find something I can tuck in or something that doesn't cover my whole butt when I'm wearing jeans. I'm 67 btw. After years of wearing long skirts and tunics, I'm having trouble finding casual clothes that show off my weight loss in a positive way.
@@sulusu4812 That is so very true, if you're not skinny, clothes like what she wears, or nice clothes for that matter, will not look good. I'm overweight with a hanging belly that never shrunk after I had my second child 25 years ago and genetics gave me a big bum. It's extremely difficult to find something that looks nice, because it doesn't, and the tendency is to cover up because tighter or shorter clothes don't look good. I had lost over twenty pounds and, up until a month ago, had went on a clothes spending spree because needed smaller clothes and felt confident that I looked better. Then the holidays happened and sweets and all good food things. Guess what, gained it all back and what I bought I can't wear because it's now tight or doesn't look right anymore. So yes, being thinner does matter and back to hiding behind my old baggy clothes and staying locked in at home, good thing I work from home and don't have to embarrass myself. I have no desire to go out, even to get groceries, because everything hangs out and am out of breath by the time I get inside the store from the parking lot. Having the fat gene, even when was thin at one point in my life, makes it a struggle because anything I eat makes me gain a large amount of weight in weeks. This lady on the video is lucky to have the skinny gene. You have no idea the struggle so don't comment that being skinny is stuck on us.
J Benny I do not agree .A number of thin ladies do not look good in tight fitting clothes and a casual observer might remark that they need a square meal. Why encourage people to become obsessed with being thin when it is actually an unattractive look. My role model would be the Duchess of Edinburgh who always looks lovely but is a sensible weight and Queen Camilla is also a good size ie neither fat or excessively thin.
They’re not new, neither cut-outs, boat necks or asymmetry, however you see them on catwalks and street style every season. It’s all about styling it your own way.
Am entering 70s next year. Decided in my teens about my old age & dress traditional whenever in doubt. You are admired eternally in Asia in your traditional dresses & colours. We kind of despise false eternal youth philosophy. We deeply rever maturity & wisdom above all.....whether you are one year or century old.!
I am enjoying your videos. I am hopeless at styling and look daggy..I used to dress nicely, but a changing body and age I honestly have no idea. I've hit my 50s and the meno belly...I've given up. Your tutorials are inspirational...
Of course most of us in the 50’s and older group aren’t as thin as we were when we were younger. All of the clothes she showed looked great on a thinner body. I want to conceal my mid-section due to weight gain in that area. That involves longer, looser tops, no belts or tucked in shirts.
I love long tunic tops, skinny pants for my skinny legs, and long dresses because I’m plus size and I always have been since my teen years. I choose the right colours. I’m 67 and people think I’m 50.
I am 71 but I like looking younger. I lived for years looking older. I do lean toward comfort though. This is a good video and helpful. The orange top definitely explains warm and cool tones. I am very into wearing colors flattering to my undertone. Makes me feel good.
Hi very nice suggestions. I personally not into open shoulder blouses sweater or dresses I think looks not refine for my taste. Jeans and dress slacks don’t wear either. 💕💃🏾
You are amazingly beautiful. All of these are helpful tips and pretty achievable on any budget and likely with things in our closet. I am not a fan of cold shoulders, but you are in the minority of women who can carry them off.
The Row has a very structured silhouette or mix relaxed with structured, which is exactly what I am talking in the video. I love oversized clothes, just don’t wear it head-to-toe.
In my opinion, the clothes are wearing the Olsen sisters, not the other way around. Their style doesn’t look balanced and flattering. Take away the celebrity status and I bet you people would describe them as frumpy.
A lot of good advice. But... there is always a "but." 😃 Looking younger should not make somebody look desperate. Too shirt of a skirt, too much exposed skin will have that effect. Are we really that desperate?
that's true. It's like walk with a poster "I'm still young! I know what's trendy! I'm trying hard to be sexy!", or, speaking author's native language, А я еще не вышла в тираж, because this is only thing that matters.
One of the joys of getting older is being happy with being comfy. Also not giving a hoot... I love being in my fifties. I have a style I've been working towards and have the time for op shopping and cash for signature pieces. Always remember the quote, but not who said it, Fashion is for people who have no taste!
Dianna you look beautiful! I love your ideas, but, I am not slim like you and yet I am 200lbs and I get all bloated at the midriff. My waist is my problem. Can you give ideas for that type of body. Sincerely Trish ❤.
Nothing wrong. But to be realistic also important. Example: If woman is 50y, and she has child 10 years old, then in the school friends of her child may start laughing that he/she has grandmother mother.
Can't speak for others of course, but for myself & how I view her channel it's not about fear. I don't sense fear in her videos. I think it's more about sharing different styles, pulling on your assets ect. Something full of light to bring to this world.
@@sulusu4812 thank you @sulu su - my comment wasn’t so much about her showing a fear of being and looking old, but of the almost universal acceptability of how a youthful appearance is somehow better than a mature or even frankly old one. It’s the presumption that youth and fertility is preferable to maturity and experience - that looking or being old old is basically undesirable. I really like paying attention to my appearance, but I’m wanting to radiate the positive values of being experienced in the skills and ways of life, along with joy for it’s own sake and perhaps being an elder who desires the crown of wisdom. When looking at fashion channels I’m wanting tips on how to enhance my appearance along with my values. Things like finding the best colors and styles for who I am. Seeing other women who know themselves dress nicely and hearing how they did it helps me….but just the title of this video triggered me…🙄😝 -
There was nothing wrong with the boots and bag in the last outfit; they just didn't go with the dress because they're too heavy. They would look great with a pair of jeans and a more casual look. Chelsea boots never go out of style! Trends aren't a gateway to looking good; you should wear what suits you and your own style (if you are fortunate enough to have found it - I haven't). Everything looks good on Diana, including the lovely orange jumper.
Trends are not anyone's personal style. They are the fashion industry's style. Wear what makes you happy, dress for your body type and you will look fabby.
Thanks, some great tips. Do you have links to the black maxi with slits and your newer cream/ivory maxi dress with interesting short, stick-out sleeves?
Your videos are so informative. I really learn a lot from you. All of these outfits look so nice on you. The clothing is beautiful and you have a perfect figure. If you could show some examples of ladies with different body types it would be greatly appreciated.
I would really appreciate that as well. I have full bust and I'm high-waisted. I wear tops untucked and beltless, but things can go matronly very quickly where there is too much fabric/volume on top.
Don't be upset or get angry okay. Anyone who ages including men look their age whether they like it or not. Any gold chain necklaces won't cover that up.
We all get old. We can't stop it. I am personally not a fan of forever young. My wrinkles and lines show I lived a life. If someone does want to talk to me because I 'look my age', then to hell with them. And I am female. 😁
Had a total hip replacement in October and will need another in February. Tired of wearing sneakers !!!! Where can I purchase your riding boots and are they available in wide width ??
If you understand your style essense(s), this will absolutly work or does not work for everyone. From dramatic to etereal/angelic. And also color analysis should be a thing she talks about… 🤷🏻♀️ The only color that makes someone «older» is opposite of their best color palette/the color they’re not comfortable with. «You need to keep up with trends in order to look actual and stylish!» wow how BS is this statement?🤯 Princess Diana, Jackie Kennedy, Billy Porter, Cher, Iris Apfel etc. etc. NONE of them do🙃
I've never gotten my 'colours done'. I can look the mirror and know what I ought not wear (yellows and oranges). Getting your colours done is just another trendy waste of money thing to do. I once had a customer who actually carried her colour palette card with her and if what she liked wasn't in a colour on her little card, she refused to even try it on. I can imagine how many lovely things she passed on because of a stupid little card in her pocket.
@@gusmonster59 You are lucky you can look in the mirror and know what looks good on you. Many women cannot so I'd say the cards could be helpful. How you feel in a color suggests to me that it's not a good color for you. For ex., when I was quite young, I sewed a very nice lined wool skirt with a sleeveless top that matched; I paired it with a print long sleeved blouse. Only one trouble: it was fire engine red and I forced myself to wear it since I'd put so much time into making it. I thought I "had" to have red in my wardrobe, Finally, I gave the 3 piece outfit away to someone who'd look good in it and wear it. I felt awful in it. ( Some of us are sensitive to color and that's a clear indication of what to wear and not wear.) Later I learned I can wear red but brick red (with orange in it); I don't often though as other colors look, and feel better on me.
That beige dress at the end is very pretty. Can you link it please? As for the accessories you initially put with it, it’s true that they made the outfit look dated in a way, but mostly they were just not right for the dress. The dress is light and airy and the shoes and bag were very wintry and heavy. But they did not change how old you looked at all. Those heavier accessories just looked wrong with the styleOf the dress. But 😮 neither did the other outfits. You may have looked more modern or the outfit was more fun (like the white pants instead of the black pants with printed shirt) rather than more classic and more serious, but not older at all. I do agree that oversized clothing from head to toe is not right for most.
Thank you for such a detailed feedback. It’s true, I almost refer to style mistakes which create more mature image, and dated way of styling. As for the Drees it’s from Malene Birger. You can find it here www.zalando.be/by-malene-birger-bovine-maxi-jurk-off-white-by121c09a-a11.html?size=S&allophones=0&wmc=SEM320_NB_GO._2131274322_709878898_45511208348.&opc=2211&mpp=google%7Cv1%7C%7Cpla-297612067635%7C%7C1001004%7C%7Cg%7Cm%7C%7C163687977083%7C%7Cpla%7CBY121C09A-A11000S000%7C297612067635%7C1%7C&gclsrc=aw.ds&gbraid=0AAAAADM1p33ETFmUf7ytMBI6hw66wEP_M&gclid=Cj0KCQiAkMGcBhCSARIsAIW6d0CBXmg6B9Azpq5Isioo3_DjVz70XN6D-Zz4oEK7ijfD_7NchpOOtnEaAkBwEALw_wcB
I’m 62 and still sometimes wear above-the-knee skirts, but minis (mid-thigh or shorter) just feel like I’m trying too hard to look young. I know my legs are my best asset, but I mostly want to wear midi skirts and dresses now.
I think for women w naturally well shaped slender legs they should be showcased. True a micro mini might not be the best post 60 look but don’t hide your best feature. Mine are long but too out of shape to show wish I could.
As we get older we can't afford to show as much skin. No matter how thin we are middle aged skin is a little crepey or not as tight as young skin. I don't know how many middle aged women in off the shoulder, halter necks etc I have stood behind in queues. I thought they only see themselves from the front but have never seen the skin on their back close up.
Funny thing is that I felt like many styles you've shown still look great and are maybe just way more casual and easygoing. but the improved styles are just so on point and very valid. Probably I just love an easygoing style. But I see what is not working with it, so thanks :D eyeopening
Thank you for sharing your great tips. I can’t wait to try it out. Your suggestions remind me of what a graphic design instructor once said to me when I was a student. He said the only two concepts to remember in design is harmony and tension. That is what I’m taking away from your video.
I liked some of the proportion suggestion but later I saw two (long jackets or tops with long full bottom) that were checked ok when earlier this was a no no. Now I am confused. Many of us older folk don’t have the flawless skin or shoulders to wear some of these looks.
None of the "fixed" outfits would look good on me as I am short and petite. Wearing anything loose or baggy instantly makes me look heavy, although I am not. Style is personal and trends are invented by the clothing industry to force women to buy things that will be worn for a short time til the next trend comes along. KISS Keep It Simple and Subtle.
Honestly, most of the time I take a shirt from my husband’s wardrobe. So I’d definitely shop in mens department- Zara, Massimo, mango. Or Frankie Shop for one in color.
I don't really follow the trends. Especially now. Slim, super slim, or just big and boxy- neither works for a curvy woman. Perhaps you can adapt your advice also to women who are not as slim as a stick.
1 & 2 Long and oversize top and bottom, young people wear exactly that, because they just don't care about "our figure is our biggest asset", it's just a body. I'm surprised to hear something like "it's important to show your figure! it's not feminine to wear oversize!" from someone who is younger than my mom.
The top she has on w the peek aboo shoulder really looks dated. Her presentation loses credibility from the start w that look. Her color advice is excellent. She has a nice figure w long legs...she can do a lot of things that for her work well.
Thank you for the style update tips. I think they are especially good for a taller, thinner body type. I love the little brown bag style purse and the short heeled sling backs. Sling backs are hard to walk in, because they tend to flip flop in the back, but are so cute! Where I live, slit shoulder tops are already out, but perhaps they are sill fashionable where you live? I've been able to "fix" a couple of slit shoulder tops I found on the sales rack by simply sewing up the slits. It doesn't work for every top, but if there's enough material in the shoulder, you can sometimes get a nice top at a very low price!
Ughhh..excuse me. I'm just trying to figure out WHY are you still wearing a "cold shoulder" blouse?. I think k I may have had one about 5 years ago. I was never a fan of that style and so..I haven't see 👀 that in years.. ok Buh bye 👋

Hello Patricia
How are you doing today?
Thx for the advice- sometimes I think I get stuck wearing too loose to hide any “flaws” I think I have !
I heard those cut out shoulders are not worn anymore? Out of style, especially older women!
May I ask how tall you are?
@@elizabethbrown58 I’m 5’1” = “athletic build” (muscular, workout regularly, rectangle body shape [opposite of “curvy”], broad shoulders, very small breasts = A-size cup, narrow hips) Thanks for asking!
Im actually going the opposite way-- I love the clothes that have that mature look, nice & elegant
I don’t know about mature, but classic and elegant, definitely!🙂
Диана, вы отлично выглядите, как , впрочем, и всегда. Ваш английский прекрасен.
It's not what you wear It's how you wear it to suit your shape. Not everything suits everyone Whatever age!
Well said!
Love your video and your styling suggestions and color choices! You rocked every outfit. It’s always good to be our best and healthiest selves at any age. Forever young. Thank you!
Am I the only one who thinks that a number of the "before" outfits look classier and more elegant that the "after" versions?
I’m 62 and I think the worst item sold to my age group is a long, tunic length top, shirt or sweater. About 20 years ago I purged all of mine and instantly looked better-proprtioned, thinner and younger. I tuck in all my tops and don’t wear those long sweaters, either. I like “cropped” ones, they just cover my waistband, because I’m short. Also, any capri pants must go.
I love tunic tops, but they only really look good if you're wearing them with leggings... Otherwise, save them for around the house... Lol
Also 62 and recently learned the ‘tuck in’ with jumpers and shirts, really helped me look taller, smarter and bit more edge. Well IMHO 😂
It's so good that you know what looks best on you!
Very helpful thank you. Fashion can be timeless but at times it can be confusing.
Of course you can look fabulous in anything ….when you are thin & 85 pounds.
We age & grow, but somehow the self concept of not looking good unless you're thin has stuck on you (& others). Time to let that go love.
And not almost 6ft tall and curvy.
@@roselarouge9107 that's pretty simple- this RUclipsr obviously doesn't cover that much unfortunately. .....but there's a lot that do. 🌟🌟💗
Cold shoulders are out. 😂
You are absolutely 💯 right!
They’re not new, neither cut-outs, boat necks or asymmetry, however you see them on catwalks and street style every season. It’s all about styling it your own way.
I actually like cold shoulder tops
She looks lovely in it
I wish they'd never come in!
I heard cold-shoulder tops were out👎.I read they date a person😵💫
The video “tips tips on not looking older” inspired me to buy a handbag with a bright solid colour! 😄
Of course most of us in the 50’s and older group aren’t as thin as we were when we were younger. All of the clothes she showed looked great on a thinner body. I want to conceal my mid-section due to weight gain in that area. That involves longer, looser tops, no belts or tucked in shirts.
Just love what you are wearing, with the open shoulders…I didn’t find where to buy on of those?
I LOVE THAT PROVERB ABOUT THE HEALTHY MAN AND THE SICK MAN
Great tips, thank you!
Older women would not wear s mini skirt!
Diana, your style is my goal!!
Диана браво,ваш english is just fantastic 😊😊😊
You are amazingly beautiful. All of these are helpful tips and pretty achievable on any budget and likely with things in our closet. I am not a fan of cold shoulders, but you are in the minority of women who can carry them off.
The ladies who founded the iconic The Row brand would disagree…all oversized can be fabulous if done correctly
Agree I love baggy
The Row has a very structured silhouette or mix relaxed with structured, which is exactly what I am talking in the video. I love oversized clothes, just don’t wear it head-to-toe.
In my opinion, the clothes are wearing the Olsen sisters, not the other way around. Their style doesn’t look balanced and flattering. Take away the celebrity status and I bet you people would describe them as frumpy.
Key words: IF APPLIED CORRECTLY!! Too many apply size and length incorrectly 🤷♀️
Something in them doesn’t look fresh. Maybe it’s wrong colors they are wearing for their complexions.
Looks to me like you have to be really thin and under 35 years old. I think the “cold shoulder” top is dated and cheap looking.
Thank you !
Thanks for this video! It's very useful and I have the same body shape as you!😃
A lot of good advice. But... there is always a "but." 😃 Looking younger should not make somebody look desperate. Too shirt of a skirt, too much exposed skin will have that effect. Are we really that desperate?
That’s a topic for another video🙈
that's true. It's like walk with a poster "I'm still young! I know what's trendy! I'm trying hard to be sexy!", or, speaking author's native language, А я еще не вышла в тираж, because this is only thing that matters.
Especially at the office. I don't want to look flirty at all. I do like the boxy sillouette with expensive looking clothes.
tips on knowing your colors?
One of the joys of getting older is being happy with being comfy. Also not giving a hoot... I love being in my fifties. I have a style I've been working towards and have the time for op shopping and cash for signature pieces. Always remember the quote, but not who said it, Fashion is for people who have no taste!
I love this video. great job. I love that white shoulder-off sweater top! can I have the link or where did you get it from? thank you!!
Dianna you look beautiful! I love your ideas, but, I am not slim like you and yet I am 200lbs and I get all bloated at the midriff. My waist is my problem. Can you give ideas for that type of body.
Sincerely Trish ❤.
Thanks 👍
Thank you for sharing your style expertise. Loved the taupe and blue sweaters. Can you put a link to purchase?
Thank you, Marilyn! I bought them last season, I hope I can still find them and link them in the infobox.
Hi Diana...even if you can't find a link for the taupe sweater, could you share the designer/brand? I LOVE it!!! ❤️
Thank you so much !
What’s wrong with looking any age….what IS this fear of looking older?
👏🏼👍🏼
Nothing wrong.
But to be realistic also important.
Example: If woman is 50y, and she has child 10 years old, then in the school friends of her child may start laughing that he/she has grandmother mother.
@@ОляД-л8у Well, that becomes a prime teachable moment about good character, real friends and bullies, true love and lots of other good stuff.
Agree. She looked good in the baggy clothes. Very Italian designer style I thought.
@@gusmonster59 I would always be wearing cool colors for sure!
Thanks, some great tips. Do you have links to the black maxi with slits and your newer cream/ivory maxi dress with interesting short, stick-out sleeves?
How I love all of these dresses on you! ❤️ I do some of mistakes you’ve mentioned, and now I see what’s wrong)
Thank you, sweetie! 😘
Don’t you just live these slender , model like figured women telling ALL of us how to dress😂😂😂😂
And expensive trendy as well!!
I disagree with most of this video tbh
I’m exactly like you. I’ll be 80 in July.
Hi ❤ New Subscriber. I just binged watched all of your videos. I’m all caught up. 😊
Very informative and helpful. Congratulations Diana on producing some very helpful content for women of all ages.
I'm sorry but that orange shirt looked gorgeous on you!
Hahaha! Thank u! It’s my husband’s))
Agree! I liked the orange sweater/shirt on her with her coloring..
Your videos are so informative. I really learn a lot from you. All of these outfits look so nice on you. The clothing is beautiful and you have a perfect figure. If you could show some examples of ladies with different body types it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Kimberly! I really appreciate it! I am going to do my next video with my client with a different type of figure!
I would really appreciate that as well. I have full bust and I'm high-waisted. I wear tops untucked and beltless, but things can go matronly very quickly where there is too much fabric/volume on top.
Love the blue sweater!
Great tips
Don't be upset or get angry okay. Anyone who ages including men look their age whether they like it or not. Any gold chain necklaces won't cover that up.
We all get old. We can't stop it. I am personally not a fan of forever young. My wrinkles and lines show I lived a life. If someone does want to talk to me because I 'look my age', then to hell with them. And I am female. 😁
@@gusmonster59 yes! When my spouse said she's old, I told her I will be old too. Then she said you're right.
Had a total hip replacement in October and will need another in February. Tired of wearing sneakers !!!! Where can I purchase your riding boots and are they available in wide width ??
What is wrong with acting and looking your age? If God has blessed you to live as long as you have there d as y then enjoy it no matter the age.
«You need to keep up with trends in order to look actual and stylish!» wow how BS is this statement?🤯 Princess Diana, Jackie Kennedy, Billy Porter, Cher, Iris Apfel etc. etc. NONE of them do🙃
I strongly disagree with the statement about keeping up with trends to be stylish. It’s just not true.
@@symphonyjohnson1570 Trends are not anyone's personal style. They are the fashion industry's style and there to make you spend money on clothes.
If you don't mind looking older, or you want to wear what makes you comfortable, WHY ARE YOU EVEN WATCHING THIS VIDEO??
I just love your videos, so informative and helpful! 😊
Hello Tamara
How are you doing today?
I dress for my body type, whether it’s fashionable or not!
Great! It's very important to do so but I believe it also needs to align with your personality!
This is a great video.
Love your style tips for any age to take on board. At 74 I’m lucky to be here and find the ageist Older description to describe us insulting.
The last look is tricky: problem was the formless bag, not that it’s not trendy. Take any hard shaped bag and you get the same result.
My skin is medium warm, so cool colors don't flatter me at all
That beige dress at the end is very pretty.
I’m 64 and wear short skirts with boots and various tights. My legs are slim so it’s fine. I’m sure you can too.
All these tips were spot on and easy for anyone at any age!
I don’t care for cutaway dresses and tops. I don’t think they add to anyone’s good looks. Not classy.
You have a wonderful figure show someone lumpy and bumpy!
All very well, but the most important thing in life, is being true to your values, your loved ones and your self. Everything else comes after.
Your haircut makes you look older.Sorry😊
Thank you for sharing your great tips. I can’t wait to try it out. Your suggestions remind me of what a graphic design instructor once said to me when I was a student. He said the only two concepts to remember in design is harmony and tension. That is what I’m taking away from your video.
I am not fond of any of these suggestions This is really just personal taste not helpful tips
I liked some of the proportion suggestion but later I saw two (long jackets or tops with long full bottom) that were checked ok when earlier this was a no no. Now I am confused. Many of us older folk don’t have the flawless skin or shoulders to wear some of these looks.
I just wish you would list where you get your clothes.
I can't wear any type of heels or flats, I only can wear gym shoes, it's what my foot doctor recommended
There is a difference between gym/athletic shoes and stylish gymshoe like shoes. Check out
Actually you looked good in orange. Not so good in the mint green top. Overall I agree with your content.
Real challenge: wear dark academia, without looking 10 years older😆
Newly subscribed. Great advice thanks
These tips are great for someone slim and trim
What's your favorite brand for white shirt?
Honestly, most of the time I take a shirt from my husband’s wardrobe. So I’d definitely shop in mens department- Zara, Massimo, mango. Or Frankie Shop for one in color.
I'm 61 and can't imagine myself in any of the outfits though I don't disagree with the tips.
👏🏼👍🏼
