  • This GlowShift video shows you how to install our 7 Color Series Quad Gauge Package into a 1999-2003 7.3L Ford Super Duty Power Stroke.
    Get this diesel set here: www.glowshiftd...
    This Power Stroke Gauge Package features a Diesel Boost Gauge, EGT Pyrometer Gauge, Transmission Temperature Gauge, and a 100 PSI Fuel Pressure Gauge. Also included is a Quad Super Duty Pillar Gauge Pod created specifically for the factory A-pillar of any 1999-2003 7.3L Ford Superduty F-250 or F-350. We went with this set of Super Duty gauges based on feedback from our Tech Team, who recommended these gauges and quad gauge pod as the optimal fit for the 99-03 7.3L Power Stroke.
    We kick off the process by showing three different ways to install the Boost Line for the Boost Pressure Gauge. The first involves cutting the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Line and inserting a Boost T Fitting Adapter. Once installed you thread in the Boost Gauge Fitting and then run the Boost Line to it. For anyone who purchased an Air Intake Heater Plug Adapter, we locate the Intake Air Heater on the cool side of the Spyder Intake Manifold. Then we install the adapter into the manifold, once again connecting the Boost Line to it. And for customers who want to install the Boost Line directly, we drill into the Spyder Intake Manifold and connect the Boost Line using a Boost Line Fitting.
    Then we install the Electronic Fuel Pressure Sensor using a 7.3 Powerstroke Fuel Pressure Sensor Adapter. We accomplish this by threading the sensor into the adapter, removing the Fuel Filter Housing Plug, and inserting the sensor and adapter into the Fuel Filter Housing. The EGT Probe is installed by drilling and tapping into the driver’s side Exhaust Manifold and securing the EGT Probe Sensor Adapter. Once the adapter is in place we thread in the probe. For the Trans Temp Gauge’s Electronic Transmission Temperature Sensor, we remove the Transmission Test Port Plug and install the sensor into the transmission.
    Once all of the sensors have been installed, the sensor wires and boost line are run to the driver’s side firewall, keeping clear of any moving parts, and then into the Power Stroke’s cabin. After adding all four gauges to the Quad Pillar Super Duty Gauge Pod we proceed to install the pod, which mounts to the factory A-pillar and make all necessary wire connections. This video will walk you through every detail of the process step-by-step and provide a complete breakdown of everything needed to install our F-250/F-350 Super Duty gauges and pod.

  • @concernedbiker9414
    @concernedbiker9414 Год назад +1

    Wouldn't it be better to put gauges in first and then route to EGT probe, Boost, and Trans. probe? That way you can cut the excess wire and make a much cleaner install.

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  Год назад +1

      The EGT probe wire cannot be trimmed but the boost line and trans temp wires can. Which you could do from the side inside the cabin.

    I know one thing the kit I got brand new from eBay that doesn't have the fuel but has egt, boost and transmission gauges didn't come with nearly the things mentioned in this video for the install. Like the green and black wire, the bolt that the egt probe threads into that threads into the manifold, the wires that come off the gauges are only 6-7" long not nearly long enough to reach power,grounding or dimmer. It's BS spend $200 and have to splice every single wire and supply the wire myself

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  5 лет назад

      We are sorry that you had that experience with our product. The adapter for the EGT probe comes attached to the probe in the packaging, simply unscrew it to install it onto the manifold and then insert the probe back into it. We do recommend purchasing a wiring kit which will make powering the gauges much easier.

      The gauge in this video only shows boost and not vacuum so the gauge will only show a reading when the gas pedal is really floored. Which is not shown in this video.

    • @GlowShift

      The flickering in the video is caused by the refresh rate of the LEDs in the boost gauge being different from the shutter speed of the camera that was used to film the video.

    Isn’t it kinda redundant to put a transmission temp gauge when the original gauge cluster has one? I just bought a 7.3 and would like to put this kit on my truck. Is there a different gauge I could run in the trans temp gauge and still use this harness?

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  5 лет назад +1

      You can run another gauge in it's place. If you do not want the trans temp gauge, we would recommend the DS2 gauge package which will give you a fuel pressure gauge instead of trans. And then you would need to purchase any additional gauge to fill the 4th place in the pod.

    • @scottbaker4314
      @scottbaker4314 5 лет назад +2

      You will also want to install a 6.0 Powerstroke transmission cooler on your 7.3 it makes a huge difference in keeping the temps down

    • @testman8974
      @testman8974 5 лет назад +7

      Just so you know the transmission gauge in your truck is NOT accurate. Yes, its a factory gauge however it has "Set points" so your transmission could be running at 180 but then if the transmission temp sensor saw 220 the gauge will immediately jump to red. NOT gradually. This is why an aftermarket gauge is better because you can actually see the damn temperature rising rather than have it surprise you when it jumps up to red and be already too late and your transmission be fried. There are numerous reports of how unreliable the factory transmission gauge on the 02 - 03 models are. Just look it up for yourself.
