It's even funnier when you realize that Caleb probably wasn't a C-Popper in the original timeline, but only after Chetney made the wish to Grandma Morri who plucked the strands of fate to alter the present
I'm 25 minutes in, I love how absolutely GIDDY Matt is. This has been his actual goal, he created Critical Role just so they could create long lasting characters across multiple campaigns so he could make them all play both parties at the same time. Bravo you evil genius.
I was hoping that he'd have them team up with VM as well on their mission, but this worked out so much better MN and BH mesh their types of chaos much better than a VM team up would.
I need to rewatch this episode and focus on Matt's reactions, they are so delightful. his little chef's kiss into devil horns when Marisha did her first quick change... I'm so happy for him, he's so evidently having a blast

The Caleb and Chetney moment is one of the funniest in a while for me. The way Liam smiles when everyone else realizes what’s happening, you can tell he’s just had this planned for weeks and hadn’t told anyone and was just dying to see their reactions

its a small moment i love seeing from Matt when he is the DM. him just sitting back and letting the players RP among themselves for a great scene and him just eating it all up and enjoying it with them. The little smiles facial expressions giving away his enjoyment. It makes me smile everytime he gets this chance.
And straight from that into 'I found that talking to another person of faith can help in bad moments', calling back to his panic attack on the ship after the first docks battle when Jester helped him through it.
Jester was on fire this whole episode, I love her so much! Also, Orym and Dorian finally confessing to each other was so romantic, I physically felt my heartstrings being pulled

I know it's a small thing, but the way my heart melted at 3:13:30 when Caleb GIVES AWAY A MAGICAL ITEM to Imogen. My heart just melts whenever I'm reminded of how much Caleb's character's grown from the beginning of Campaign 2.
I know so many people have said this but I would love Robbie to join CR as a perma member. He melds well together with the cast and nearly every time he plays he’s always sharing the spotlight and bringing the most out of characters. And the times Robbie gets to have the spotlight to himself he always puts a little bit of flare into it and spin it in such a unique way.

I remember just how charming Jester was. Ludinus had once said “it’s entirely off putting how disarmingly charming you are” about her. It is my headcanon that she could stroll up to Predathos and say in that lovely Jester voice, “Hello Predathos, my name is Jester and I know you want to eat the gods but if you don’t I’ll be your friend! We could talk, sing songs, tell jokes, and paint a bunch of dicks on everything!” And then she would try to convert Predathos to worshipping the Traveler and it somehow works.
Jester is so charming she charmed Ludines (who called her disarmingly charming?) she charmed Breaus who was absolutely prepared to hate her, you are right... I bet she COULD charm predathos into flying back out to space!!!!

Jester is literally so charming (as a character, not stats wise) that she created her own God. Artagan was trying to start a cult before he recruited her, sure. It wasn't until she had her FAITH in him that he would always be there that he began to give her AND ONLY HER clerical power. She's not a Saint of the Traveler, but the Prophet. She is the mortal who created a God out of friendship and love and pure faith that her best friend will never abandon her. Jester may be one of the most powerful characters in Exandrian canon imo. This is just a headcanon, but everything we've seen has shown us that Jester's love, trust and kindness can really heal all wounds. She was the girl who created a God, and her love for her friend prevented another from being born. Her love helped to defeat Uk'otoa (uk'otoa) and to fell Trent Ikithon. She and the Nein (Hells??) are the Secret Service of Exandria.
This has been another one of my favorite episodes ever. Hearing them flip talk to themselves and each other as other characters is such a talent. Along with being friends who also share all this history is just amazing.
i said it before, but i'll say it again "Caleb Widogast is a Cpoper" must tbe the best piece of post-original campaign lore ever dropped in the history of Critical Role.
The community wouldn't shut up about it since 110 ended. And then chat during 111 was riding that title ride, so they had to do it for fan service. Now we have two different Nine/Nein Hells in d&d because people are unoriginal xD
Just thought about how much I appreciate Liams work. So appreciative of the other players, but also showing some serious struggles in his character in this moment. 2:19:19 Even though the episode is amazingly hilarious, it’s a difficult time for all the characters.
I adore every one of these characters, but good GOD have I missed Caduceus!! His personality, mannerisms, voice... just all of it. Taliesin does such an entertaining job with him.
The best episode of all of critical role. Everything comes together after years of character building and storytelling. It s hilarious, heartwarming, it feels homey leaving you with wanting more. And my god Robbie needs to stay forever. Everytime he has an emotional moment coming his way he just nails it and leaves me in tears every time. This was beautiful, thank you guys and thank you Matt. Amazing. ❤
This really makes you appreciate how good Matt is at this with all the characters he plays per session. 😇 Several times during the session, the cast had a bit of difficulty (hilariously) switching between their characters. Matt has done it regularly over the years with seeming ease.
3:14:16 Love the choice of words here. Perfectly mirroring Caleb's words to Essek back in C2 about how it "takes time" to earn back trust, to come to terms with your guilt, etc. Very purposeful by Liam and you can see Matt notices the detail haha. 😊
This is unironically the first episode after campaign 2's ending that made me cry, first out of happiness for seeing my favourite party being united with my second favourite and then over the Orym and Dorian scene, that was so beautiful, i really really hope that Robbie is here to stay in this party for whatever's next with critical role.

In my language, the word for eggs has a second meaning similar to English "balls", so every time they talk about the quest for Chetney's Eggs, it has a bonus layer of hilarity.
Pretty chaotic episode! But if there's two people who thrive on chaos, it's Fearne and Ashton! Here are your callowmoore timestamps: 2:22:56 Ashton tries asking Yasha for advice on seducing Fearne (as clearly she has experience pulling a baddie). Luckily Jester intervenes. 2:29:30 Fearne comes into the room as a cat and Jester followers suit. Ashton regrets they can't also turn into a cat (but thinks they're adorable). 2:44:58 Fearne tries to steal from Caleb. Ashton watches this whole exchange with rapt attention. 3:00:26 Whatever Ashton got from the chaotic advice Jester provided earlier somehow enables them to eventually make something resembling a move. (Luckily Fearne's into it.)
I'm actually kinda surprised with all the couples and moves happening towards the end, that Taliesin didn't chime in with Ashton to try something with Fearne. It even looked like he was about to speak until someone else took the scene, and he just let it go. I understand not wanting to upstage the last bit, but with all the love in the air, I kinda wanted the Callowmoore moment as well, so it left me a bit sad.
@@driftnick7022 They confirmed during the cooldown on Beacon that Ashton and Fearne slept together. Ashton even used a rage (they got persistent rage at level 15 so they can keep it going without giving our receiving damage). So it wasn't exactly talking about their feelings, but progress was made. 😅👍

I love the fact that for 4 hours... Matt was almos completly in silence enjoying his creations like a child... you can see how much he enjoys it... BTW Mr Clay is one of my favourite chars on all 3 campaings
everybody’s choices on how to have their own characters interact was perfect, and so indicative of both their RP styles, as well as their understanding of their characters. Sam’s Braius/Veth combos are obviously amazing, but i gotta credit Liam’s somber Caleb and Orym convo near the end. It’s beautiful that in the end Liam’s own character gave Orym the push to do what his heart desired. Would also like to mention Laura’s performance, where Imogen is legitimately desperate for a chance to talk business in between Jester’s ubiquitous chaos. amazing episode.
Man this is such a golden episode that it deserves an additional 2 hour video essay about how awesome Matt is. And how awesome Sam is. I’m still early in the episode but I am in love with how quickly things are coming around full circle. ❤

And straight from that into 'I found that talking to another person of faith can help in bad moments', calling back to his panic attack on the ship after the first docks battle when Jester helped him through it.

I know so many people have said this but I would love Robbie to join CR as a perma member. He melds well together with the cast and nearly every time he plays he’s always sharing the spotlight and bringing the most out of characters. And the times Robbie gets to have the spotlight to himself he always puts a little bit of flare into it and spin it in such a unique way.

I remember just how charming Jester was. Ludinus had once said “it’s entirely off putting how disarmingly charming you are” about her. It is my headcanon that she could stroll up to Predathos and say in that lovely Jester voice, “Hello Predathos, my name is Jester and I know you want to eat the gods but if you don’t I’ll be your friend! We could talk, sing songs, tell jokes, and paint a bunch of dicks on everything!” And then she would try to convert Predathos to worshipping the Traveler and it somehow works.

Jester is literally so charming (as a character, not stats wise) that she created her own God. Artagan was trying to start a cult before he recruited her, sure. It wasn't until she had her FAITH in him that he would always be there that he began to give her AND ONLY HER clerical power. She's not a Saint of the Traveler, but the Prophet. She is the mortal who created a God out of friendship and love and pure faith that her best friend will never abandon her.
Jester may be one of the most powerful characters in Exandrian canon imo. This is just a headcanon, but everything we've seen has shown us that Jester's love, trust and kindness can really heal all wounds. She was the girl who created a God, and her love for her friend prevented another from being born. Her love helped to defeat Uk'otoa (uk'otoa) and to fell Trent Ikithon. She and the Nein (Hells??) are the Secret Service of Exandria.

I adore every one of these characters, but good GOD have I missed Caduceus!! His personality, mannerisms, voice... just all of it. Taliesin does such an entertaining job with him.

The best episode of all of critical role. Everything comes together after years of character building and storytelling. It s hilarious, heartwarming, it feels homey leaving you with wanting more. And my god Robbie needs to stay forever. Everytime he has an emotional moment coming his way he just nails it and leaves me in tears every time.

Several times during the session, the cast had a bit of difficulty (hilariously) switching between their characters. Matt has done it regularly over the years with seeming ease.

Jester is too powerful. She got Braius to go from "I'm gonna kill you" to "I can officiate your wedding" in one night.
This is unironically the first episode after campaign 2's ending that made me cry, first out of happiness for seeing my favourite party being united with my second favourite and then over the Orym and Dorian scene, that was so beautiful, i really really hope that Robbie is here to stay in this party for whatever's next with critical role.

2:22:56 Ashton tries asking Yasha for advice on seducing Fearne (as clearly she has experience pulling a baddie). Luckily Jester intervenes.
2:29:30 Fearne comes into the room as a cat and Jester followers suit. Ashton regrets they can't also turn into a cat (but thinks they're adorable).
2:44:58 Fearne tries to steal from Caleb. Ashton watches this whole exchange with rapt attention.

I'm actually kinda surprised with all the couples and moves happening towards the end, that Taliesin didn't chime in with Ashton to try something with Fearne. It even looked like he was about to speak until someone else took the scene, and he just let it go. I understand not wanting to upstage the last bit, but with all the love in the air, I kinda wanted the Callowmoore moment as well, so it left me a bit sad.
@@driftnick7022 They confirmed during the cooldown on Beacon that Ashton and Fearne slept together. Ashton even used a rage (they got persistent rage at level 15 so they can keep it going without giving our receiving damage). So it wasn't exactly talking about their feelings, but progress was made. 😅👍

everybody’s choices on how to have their own characters interact was perfect, and so indicative of both their RP styles, as well as their understanding of their characters. Sam’s Braius/Veth combos are obviously amazing, but i gotta credit Liam’s somber Caleb and Orym convo near the end. It’s beautiful that in the end Liam’s own character gave Orym the push to do what his heart desired. Would also like to mention Laura’s performance, where Imogen is legitimately desperate for a chance to talk business in between Jester’s ubiquitous chaos. amazing episode.
The part of Laura that can conjure up Jester the charming chaos gremlin is really scary in a way.
Kudos to Liam for getting them all in Caleb's Tower. It's the magic maneuver to unlock the best RP. I ATE UP this episode.
