Crafty chef, I asked you a question/needed help w/a die that had no stamp, THANK YOU, it’s exactly what I needed! I have often watch your page, especially when I was first learning how to operate my scan n cut. You are the best to teach the scan n cut machine! I had such difficulty learning. YOU are my model, thank you for helping me! You’re the best.
Thank you so much! I can always find the answers on your videos. You've saved me so much time and frustration over the past few months of figuring out my machine because as we all know, Brother does not provide us with anything other than the very basics (and even then it's so hard to find). You've really saved me from giving up. Thank you, thank you!
We all have used mats, as well. We know your mat is lovingly used and we don't mind. We know the problems with them. I'm on my third mat. We love the help you give us with our ScanNCut machines. Thank you for all the time you put into them.
Thanks Jo! I love to share so I'm glad you are watching. Yes, the mats are not very sticky. I even have SNC mats with Cricut mats attached to the middle.
Yes Deborah for asking the question AND THANK YOU for showing us how to do this!!! I’m learning so much from you! I just asked one of my SU friends today’s who also learns SNC things from you, if we can enlarge our stamps and use our machine to cut them out...well she immediately said hold on let me check. She came back and said The Papered Chef had a video in February....and I said, ok I should have checked there first and was not even thinking...duh!!! I was just sitting here kinda looking through our new catalog and thinking of the new horse stamp & my niece...she rides horses in competitions and would love the new stamp. So now I’m thinking of all of the possibilities 🤔!!! Thanks to you, I have been learning SO MUCH!!! ❤️
I know, the possibilities are endless! Glad you are searching and finding my videos. It makes me happy that you and your friend are talking about me. Share the results of your horse endeavor. I didn’t get that one.
I want to thank you both. I'm getting older and let me say you made this so very easy to understand. Bless you. Again thank Courtney for lending you the dies.
You are very welcome Deborah. This works well for the die you have because the shape looks just as good when enlarged. That is not the case for many dies. There were a lot of steps so I'm glad you could follow along. I'm loving these dies and want to get them for myself too! I like that there is a matching stamp set to go with them.
Oh yes! We all have a craft stash and the ScanNCut lets you take your dies to a whole new level. I hope this opened up many possibilities for you. Thanks for watching.
I am so glad I am subscribed to your channel. Always learning something new. I have had my ScanNCut for a very long time and had no idea this was even possible. Thank you so much.
Thanks for your comment and welcome to the ScanNCut world. On the top of my blog are links to full courses and short classes which can help you master many concepts step-by-step. thepaperedchef.com
Another great lesson, thanks so much...I like how you take you time to show all of the steps... Because of your videos on the Scan N Cut I have learned so much...just the other day I did my first saved image and it was fun just knowing I did it because of you.
OMG! Enlarging my dies etc was a question I was going to ask you! This is awesome and I can't wait to try it! I have that die set too! I watched another one of your videos yesterday on how to weld sentiments. I tried it and it worked perfectly! I am having so much fun with my BSNC! Many thanks, you make it so easy! Stay well-:-)
I will show my face sometimes when I am describing courses I teach, etc. I just like to get right to to point in my tutorials because I respect my viewers time. So, yes, if I can, I will do some more videos showing my face. Here are a couple. thepaperedchef.com/brother-scanncut-courses
What a great idea! I have a die which makes 3D tea cups. We used them for a Mother's Day Tea. I hadn't thought about that in a while. It brings back good Crafty Memories.
Oh my goodness, Without you it would have taken me months to have found this out! YOU make the snc amazing for us, Another great quick n easy tutorial🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👏🏻👏🏻👍👍😍😘🇬🇧
Yes Debbie, you got it. So many viewers have asked me that question. While I was specifically addressing one viewer's question, I knew that many of you were wondering the same thing. Glad this helped you. I love to share.
Thanks Sheri, I’m so glad you got that. My ScanNCut is not a replacement for my dies, just an extension. I think the dies do a better job with smaller and more intricate items. Using the right tool for the job is what crafting is all about.
Wow! This is great! You know you inspired my Scan N Cut DX, right? I think I told you that before. And I'm lovin cutting out my stamped images. This takes my creative side to a whole new level! The buttons are slightly different, but I'm confident I can figure it out. Thanks---soooooo much!
Thanks Joan, I'm go glad I inspired you and I hope to keep doing so through my online classes and tutorials. You are very welcome. By the way, just found this comment while searching.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have watched many of your videos and I am learning so much from you and the way you teach. I have been wanting a ScanNCut DX for a while now but the reviews with mat problems are holding me back. The paper is pretty as well.
I’m also hesitant but with the auto blade, it is a good improvement. Well, not if the mats don’t load because there is no sense having a great blade if the mat doesn’t work. I would still keep this machine even if I upgrade. Glad you are watching!
Great. That is what I like to hear. I went ahead and earned the die set as a free Sale-A-Bration item. After showing you all this technique, I fell in love with the teapot myself.
Thank you for another super useful video. Will you please show us how to add a single score line to an image or project in Canvas Workspace or on the machine?

Kim, this is so cool. The teapot would make a cool card too. How would I make two welded together to make front and back teapot? Hope that makes sense? Thanks Kim
Yes, this makes sense and I teach all about welding and other functions in my Canvas Workspace A to Z course which is in depth and over 7 hours. I didn't specifically do this project because I wouldn't save something like this to my computer. I show you how to work with SVG files in the course. thepaperedchef.com/brother-scanncut-courses
I just came across the video something similar to yours, and I must say that your video and the other video have me super excited. However, I would like to know if you have ever tried this same technique with a box shaped die that has score lines for folding the box into it's shape and if you have tried it, how did it turn out for you and do you have a video for it and if not, will you try that technique via a tutorial video?. * Also I would like to know if there is a way that you can flip/mirror the image so that you can have two of the same patterns on both sides without the images being opposite of each other like two left shoes if you get what I'm saying?
That is amazing Paper Chef that we can enlarge our dies with the Scan N Cut machine. Can we do the same with stamps. Do you have a video showing us how to do that? If can you direct me to that video. If not can you make a tutorial showing us how we can enlarge out stamp images with the SDX Scan N Cut Machine. 💖💝💞
Yes, of course it is. Sounds like you could really benefit from my SDX125 course. I’ll share the link to the coupon code. I cover this in the course. Not with the teapot but with all different projects than the ones I show on RUclips.

Hi Kim this was so helpful to me I've tried to do it before bit wasted a lot of time & paper!!! Also if I want to make sticky labels using self adhesive paper & not vinyl do I use the same blade depth as if I was using vinyl. I've got cm900. Thanks in advance x
Kath. I am glad I could help. You can create stickers the same way. Here is a tutorial. It is always best to do a test cut. ruclips.net/video/CE9hqNvaHk8/видео.html
Do you have other tutorials that show how to cut out the inside. Example if I stamp a tea cup and color it in...is the process to cut it out with the inside of handle cut out the same as what you did with the teapot? TFS
Jeanne, yes - the process is exactly the same. Whenever you want to cut out the inside of stamped images, you have to use Scan to Cut Data. I have a few tutorials on this. Here is a playlist. ruclips.net/p/PLQq1-zAm_mlq_QHbXz8saHGiFeVDPD0dp
You can draw anything that you can cut so yes, that will work. It is just that as you enlarge any scan, the edges may get raggedy. Always start with a clean scan with good edges.
Good point but my Big Shot does a better job with the small stuff. I have a technique where I run a bunch of dies through at once and then I stamp the shapes. Still, the SNC is perfect for this teapot and you could duplicate it.
L, some of my viewers said they were not physically able to crank the Big Shot so I think I will add a tip to help with this in one of my future videos.
Kathlene, Thanks for watching. I covered a lot more of what you can do in Scan to Cut Data in this tutorial. I will be working with that feature again as I have many more viewer questions on my list to address. ruclips.net/video/8gycPFlAcME/видео.html
Thank you so much for sharing this video! I have been wondering how to do this. I love your videos. I would like to know how do you make multiple copies of an image? So I could cut more than one at a time?
Suezanne, when I was in the editing mode, instead of making in larger, I could have just increased the quantity. If I were to make smaller ones, I would just use the Big Shot but you can cut out multiples to save time. You can also arrange them on the mat in several ways which I will show in a future video.
Can you show how do do this on the SDX225F Brother Scan n Cut? I can't find any information on navigating the newest model to accomplish the same thing.
Stacey, I have 3 ScanNCuts but not that exact model. I teach skills on RUclips and in my courses which can be applied to any model. There are really just two different configurations for the settings. The CM and the SDX. I am sharing a tutorial on the SDX which covers a similar topic. ruclips.net/video/uoCPcvFKEoQ/видео.html
I just went to a store near here Mulqueens and the lady there told me about your you tube. Thank You. You are easy for me to understand. I would like to scan my graphic 45 tags so I can cut more. I also would like to cut out patterned paper 1/8 inch smaller to layer it. Is this possible and can you point me to your video that would help me? Thank you.
That is so nice. I love ❤️ being talked about in a good way and I’m glad you were referred to my channel. Here is a video about layering tags and I’ll share another one about layering stamped images. You can scan in anything and layer it, including pattered paper. ruclips.net/video/7XXOLX0NRwU/видео.html
Yes and you would add a tiny strip for the seam. It is better to do projects like that using Brother Canvas Workspace where the patterns are easier to manipulate.
Randi, I cover how to make layers in many videos. This one shows different approaches. Here is a link. studio.ruclips.net/user/video8gycPFlAcME/comments
Papered Chef thank you answering. I know how to do layers for stamped items or images on paper. I was wondering about die cuts that do no have stamps ie the ornate gardens die cuts. Also the link did not work. Thanks again
Hello, I’m hoping you can help me, I have the.SDX1200 I was following this tutorial and when I came to upsizing I do not have any of the icons that you have on your machine. I have no way of getting to upsize please help. I have been over three hours trying to do this. The machine is new to me, I really have very little experience, but I’m trying. Thanks in anticipation Mo
Ellen, you could. I don't have a scanning mat. All of the mats I tried to dedicate for just scanning all became cutting mats. If you have a "clean" mat, by all means, use that.

You are so awesome to teach how to do this type manipulation. You explained it so well!!!
Thanks Doris! I wanted to start at the very beginning with the Big Shot so that everyone could follow along and not get lost. Glad you are watching.
Thanks for a great clip. I love that you show mistakes & how to fix them! Makes me feel better about my goof ups!
Thanks Lyse. Videos take so LONG to make and upload that I just keep on rolling if I make mistakes. Thanks for watching.
This was a no-brainer!
But, thank you for making another great video
Thanks, I think... Maybe not a no brainer for all viewers.
OH BOY, Im going to my bin of die cuts now and see what I can cut out! Woohooo!!! Thank you.

Yes, I know what you mean. That large magnolia is SO BIG! I still don't have that stamp set. Shocker, I know.
Hi P/chef. I love your video's. you make it so easy to follow, I don't have a scanNcut, but just love watching you do things, TFS, Cheers Anna.
Anna, that is so sweet. Thanks for making me smile. Maybe you will become such an expert on the ScanNCut that you will get one some day.
You never know!!!
Would make great placemats for mother's day tea party

Yes Debbie, you got it. So many viewers have asked me that question. While I was specifically addressing one viewer's question, I knew that many of you were wondering the same thing. Glad this helped you. I love to share.
Very cool! I am learning to much about the scan n cut from you....thank you!💟💟 Wanda
Thanks Wanda! Sharing is what crafting is all about.
Thanks for great easy instructions. I can now feel confident in using my Scan N Cut. Hugs and Blessings
Thanks Jeanne, practice makes perfect. So glad you have the confidence now and can make the most out of your machine.
Amazing, you’ve helped increase the usage of my dies x 1000+ !!!! Can’t wait to get started. ~ Sheri in AZ xoxo
Thanks Sheri, I’m so glad you got that. My ScanNCut is not a replacement for my dies, just an extension. I think the dies do a better job with smaller and more intricate items. Using the right tool for the job is what crafting is all about.

Glad you found this useful. I get asked this so much that I finally just made a video for everyone.
Hi Kim this was so helpful to me I've tried to do it before bit wasted a lot of time & paper!!! Also if I want to make sticky labels using self adhesive paper & not vinyl do I use the same blade depth as if I was using vinyl. I've got cm900. Thanks in advance x

Thank you for teaching going to try it
Oh yes, please try this with something you already have.
Could you do this to stamps using the universal pen, without using computer?
You can draw anything that you can cut so yes, that will work. It is just that as you enlarge any scan, the edges may get raggedy. Always start with a clean scan with good edges.
Don't forget you could also cut more than one tea cup at once. Instead of using the mental die 10 times.. I love my Brother scan cut
Good point but my Big Shot does a better job with the small stuff. I have a technique where I run a bunch of dies through at once and then I stamp the shapes. Still, the SNC is perfect for this teapot and you could duplicate it.

Hi again...still watching your videos...can you reverse an image before. Urging? So we can have a double image mirror images?
Kathlene, Thanks for watching. I covered a lot more of what you can do in Scan to Cut Data in this tutorial. I will be working with that feature again as I have many more viewer questions on my list to address. ruclips.net/video/8gycPFlAcME/видео.html

@@PaperedChef thank you. Look forward to the video.
Many new videos are in the works. Thanks for watching.
Can you put an offset around the outside edge and still cut the inside cutout too?
Can you show how do do this on the SDX225F Brother Scan n Cut? I can't find any information on navigating the newest model to accomplish the same thing.

Could you also use a black pen to draw before you cut? Would it give it an edge?
Yes, it will scan in whatever you draw. Your drawing is like scanning a stamped image. Of course using the die cut shape is much more accurate.
so if you want to make a card from the tea pot can you copy the tea pot flip one copy and then weld them so you have a card from the paper?
Yes and you would add a tiny strip for the seam. It is better to do projects like that using Brother Canvas Workspace where the patterns are easier to manipulate.
Cool! Thank you!
No problem! Looks like you are binge watching.
Hello. I have a question. How do you make a layer for a die cut. I thought I saw a video you did about it but I can’t seem to find it now.

Yes, you can make cutting lines larger or smaller once you use Scan to Cut Data. Thanks for watching.
@@PaperedChef thank you
Why don't you just use the scanning mat to scan the teapot after you cut it out using the Big Shot instead of a cutting mat??
Ellen, you could. I don't have a scanning mat. All of the mats I tried to dedicate for just scanning all became cutting mats. If you have a "clean" mat, by all means, use that.
