HOLLOW MOUNTAIN // THE GRAMPIANS // VICTORIA

- Discover the Northern Grampians at it's best, along the Hollow Mountain trail, which is not too far south of the regional centre of Horsham.
This challenging trail is not super long, but rock scrambling adds to the challenge, which is well worth it for the views at the top, and the historic aboriginal rock art to discover along the way!

Lovely walk, beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing 🌻
Thanks for watching!!
nice job! You have given me the confidence to tackle this climb next week.
Super glad! Try to pick a day where it hasn't been too wet beforehand, because I reckon it would get a bit slippery on the rocks after the rain! Have fun!
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Hugs and love to you both. Have a beautiful and blessed week my friend ❤️✝🤗
Thank you! This has probably been my favourite hike we have done (well, maybe Zion in Utah....) so I was excited to share this video!
They found one of oldest geologic volcanic earth plates below the Grampians
Raised near the Grampians 60s seen my 1st Koala age 16
Secrete caves up there People never see you can fall trying small opening deep inside .
We will be spending a lot more time exploring this area once we can get out of Melbourne! I saw Koalas here for the first time when I was a kid too! Camping in Halls Gap now is a lot different to what it was 30 years ago. Will never forget the noise the koalas made! Sounded like demons LOL
Isn't it the best place ever!!! I haven't been for a few years since moving to NSW and I can't remember all the names of the tracks but there are some of the best hiking I've seen out there❤️✌️I remember the walk along the wall at 4:34 and going through a canyon, also the tracks being very damaged from a bushfire so, yeh I think maybe 6 or more years! I don't know all the rules, but if your flying your drone without a permit, dude, be careful...
Yep, agree on the drone bit. Yeah we noticed there had been fires through, and Bettie recalled this happening years ago, but couldn't pin point how long ago it was!
This is so beautiful my friends. New here and I love this. I have a background study in Natural Resources so will be enjoying more videos 👍
Thank you so much! Appreciate it!
Best of luck for your great channel. Beautiful footage and amazing work. From a fellow creator big thumbs-up 👍
Thanks so much! Appreciated!
Okay, I need this pandemic to p*ss off now please. It's hard enough to comfortably travel around NSW.
This place looks amazing!!!
I feel for you with the sunscreen 😅🤣
I remember hating "no hat, no play" at school, but at my age now, it's my motto! 🤣🤣
Haha I'm feeling you! You can imagine how hard last year was not being able to leave the city for half the year for us in melbourne!
Im old enough that the no hat no play didn't come into action until after I was well into high school at least
What a beautiful hike. How does Betties stay looking so....put together hiking? I'd be a sweaty nasty mess! Enjoying the details and information you share in your videos.
Haha, pretty sure she's hiding some kind of magic for that.
Awesome! Love your videos! My disabled body wouldn’t make it to the spots you go to... loved your references to indigenous art.. I grew up in Darwin and our next door neighbour was the the head field anthropologist for the museum cataloguing all the art in Arnhem Land .. had many elders next door sitting round a campfire tell stories..
That's really cool! I have a friend that works in archaeology and has a lot to do with them also. At least if you can't go these places yourself, then we can take you via video :)
Did you not film the rock art because they request no photography?
hey there! We didn't see anything asking us not to, but we were erring on the side of trying to be respectful, as we know sometimes having certain things on film is frowned upon by Aboriginal culture.
Great clip. Made me so puffed, I gotta go have a home made rumbo.
Haha thanks mate!! Get on that rumbo!
That was amazing video clip yous to put together there it was amazing view from the top an it was great to see it there an it must be amazing place to go an have a look 👍👍
Thanks Mick! It was such a good trip this one!! Glad we are able to share it!
Haven’t been to The Grampians! Must add in the to do list...
definitely!! hope you are taking good care of yourselves at the moment!!
Beautiful place my friend!
Thanks! It really was!!
Great spot by the looks of it. nice 👍
It was really, really great! Thanks for watching!
shit the cave looks pretty dope but i wanna ask:will be a bad idea to do this trail during australian winter season ? if yes, i guess i'll have to skip and come back another time :'U
Depends what you mean by winter. Just cold id say go for it, but if it's been wet and rainy I'd give it a pass until later. Reckon it would be slippery. Get there when you can though! It's super fun!
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie omg thanks both for the speedy reply! ill be flying the following week so probably 9th June >< i figure it will probably be winter then right? fingers crossed I hope it doesn't rain
@@sabbiewabbiewasabi It's meant to rain the next few days, but it's actually been warm and dry this last week. Will have to see what it looks like then! I've got my fingers crossed for you! If you get there let me know how you get on :) - zoom
wooohooo awesome video!!
Thanks! Been the best hike we've done in ages! Really enjoyed the rock scrambling!!
You have some good drone shots. John
Thanks John! Trying not to overuse it, but still get some good views in there!
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie Whatcha flying?
Mavic mini. I've seen the 2nd version just come out which is super tempting, but I don't reaaalllyyy need it. Or do I? Lol
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie I thought it was a clever littlie because of where you were flying it. I have an old P3 standard. The second I start to use it regularly, I'll fork out for a Mavic Air Pro. Curse the need for common sense!!!
That does look fun! Hope you're not burnt.
Luckily I came away relatively unscathed! A little burnt, but not painfully so!
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie Oh thank goodness, I'm very glad to hear it. Have you ever tried Neem oil for sunburns? I find it works faster than aloe, just one application for me and I'm all better :)
Love this video! Can't believe we never been to Grampians before and we have seen/heard a lot of friends doing this trail too.
This is now in our bucketlist of places to visit in Victoria 👍
You need to! And if you watched out venus baths video we put on recently, at the end it will show you the ice cream shop you MUST visit while you are in the area ;)
Very nice
Thanks very much!
Loved this vid. The music seemed out of place...
Thanks very much! You didn't like the music? I must admit it's been a while since I watched this one back. What was it that seemed out of place? Cheers.
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie It's all good. I did not mean to offend. The music is awesome.
@@leamog cheers :)
I love this! That looks like so much fun! One more thing to add to my bucket list when I visit Australia! Zoom, I hope you didn’t get too badly burnt!
Got away without any painful sunburn this time! A Christmas miracle haha
You guys pack so much info into your hikes! Love it! 😊
Thanks! Trying to be a bit more useful and a little less self indulgent in our videos hahaha. Glad you get something out of it!
Thank you! I might give it a try!
Definitely worth it! Might be a bit slippery when it's been raining so just be careful if you head up there this weekend :)
We're heading up in the school holidays, fingers crossed for dry weather! 😀
@@jenscott6733 fingers crossed! Looks a bit off and on over the next week. Was dry this morning then rained in the arvo. We went to halls gap zoo today and it was great!
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie oh awesome! Glad you enjoyed it
What a lovely video, thank you for sharing this with us! Pretty often I feel like I want to move out to a place that is quite like this, life moves by far too fast when you're caught up in the rat race. Struggle to believe it's 2021 already. Much love to you both!
No fooling!! Time is flying!! Bettie's parents live close to here and it's a running joke for them that we are just waiting for them to fall off the perch so we can have their house! It's only a half joke I think hahaha. Thanks so much for watching!! I think you'll enjoy our Pink Cliff video coming out tomorrow! It has a bit of the same vibe about it!
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie Keep this a secret but I know the feeling all too well!
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie Will be staying tuned to check out that Pink cliff one :) Sorry to give you so many notifications today. Just taking some time to review your channel :)
@@GuardianPrepping Dont be sorry at all! I'm doing the same thing, catching up on watching some channels I've neglected for a little while!! So no hassle at all because I'm already here hanging out haha
