    Can’t believe my luck just found one at my local dealer that someone ordered a year ago and they got tired of waiting, it just arrived and I bought it! Exact specs and color I’d been wanting!! Thank you Jesus!!

    Heads up on ordering one of these. I ordered 1 in May 2023 . I was informed it was issued a Vin # and scheduled build date start on September 23 . 2 days ago my sales rep called me and said all Transit trail orders were canceled. If I reorder, it would be another 6 months best case. Price maybe increased by $1500. There will be changes from the 2023 but they don't know what those will be yet. I declined to reorder. Good luck.

    Great to see some content on the Transit Trail - thanks! So... would you buy a Trail or put the $11k into tire/wheel/suspension upgrades on a standard AWD model?

    • @ryankim3612
      @ryankim3612 10 месяцев назад +4

      Def do the standard route for me. $11K goes a LONG way towards the most appropriate setup for my needs/wants… the cosmetic stuff has no draw for me, and the suspension add-ons seem kinda average-at least in my opinion. But it’s great that Ford jumped into the game!

    From the video heading 'Is it worth $11k Extra', I assume that to make the same changes to a normal Ford Transit AWD will cost $11,000? From the video, it sounds as if the non-factory changes are actually the better option. What do you recommend?

    • @sneakybow1

      Those aftermarket suspension systems can be pretty pricey, and aren't going to be covered under factory warranty. Best thing to do would be to contact the aftermarket companies and ask how much their components are, and how much it costs to fab new shock mounts and relocation brackets. They're not plug n play in that regard.

  • @chewchew74
    @chewchew74 10 месяцев назад +32

    Wow,, You are paying 11k$ for 2 inch lift and 2 inch extra wide set up. Wider track from ground up is different from just putting after market wheel spacers for more rubust performance but how many of us goes to real off roading with this thing? This factory lift is not even come with premium shocks and spring. The Ford is being criticised for outrageous dealer mark up and now the company jacked up MSRP 20%. Some people will pay for nice trim but it's disgusting how Ford is ripping off customers. Considering it's a factory warranty upgrade $6500 should be max. Shame Ford. $11k will be for nice set of wheels/tires and lift upgrade with premium shocks.

      VanDoIt converts passenger vans to Transit Trails. I spoke with them about building out my Trail and they said if I did not have my vehicle yet they could get me a passenger van and make it into a Trail. This of course involves them doing the complete van build, but it is doable.

    • @gonemobilevans
      @gonemobilevans  9 месяцев назад

      3.5” overall lift. That includes a 2” body lift, and the larger tires to get you 3.5” higher than a stock AWD. The body lift does just that. It lifts the body and keeps drive train etc at stock height. Bigger tires are what get you any additional height over stock.

  • @jakemarlow8998
    @jakemarlow8998 9 месяцев назад

    Considering the long wheelbase of these types of vans, there's not enough clearance. That's why the offroad shops lift them higher. That front skid plate doesn't improve your clearance. It just helps prevent damage because this thing doesn't have enough clearance. I'm trying to be as objective as possible ... but the $11K upgrade is a total rip-off. For less than half that price, you could get that thing way more capable for offroading.

  • @salth2osr
    @salth2osr 10 месяцев назад

    I would definitely put my money into aftermarket suspension with a real off-road shop instead of Ford gimmick. A real off-road shop, like say Agile Offroad, is going to be way more in tune and helpful. Ford should've put their effort into a longer passenger CV shaft IMO.

    So when will SOMEBODY make a spare tank that goes in the spare tire spot? The Sprinter Store promised one but it never happened. 31 gallons just isn't enough and the 34 spare tire spot with the base 31 gallons would be fantastic for a usable 60 gallons- that's an adventure rig that would crap on the Sprinter 2.0 liter Hi-output motor.
    But I'd buy the Sprinter for the diesel capacity as 47 gallons to 60 gallons beats 31 gallons.
    How about it Ford? Give us a realistic gasoline capacity and watch sales soar. All Transit owners I've talked to want more gasoline and Sorinter folks I've talked with specifically blew the Transit deal up due to fuel limitations.

      I wasn't aware OEM Ford products had a bad reputation? Sorry if that's been your experience. For me, (and I am not a DIY guy), the Ford warranty coupled with their 3000 dealer network in the USA is a HUGE consideration. Say you're a thousand miles from home and you have a problem... are you going to look for the after-market crew that outfitted your van? Or would you rather drive half an hour to the nearest Ford garage? That's how I look at it. But I'm willing to be educated by others with more experience.
