- Sometimes Allah's name is pronounced with heaviness and sometimes it's pronounced with lightness. It can seem confusing. And if you've read to a Quran teacher you've probably been corrected on this concept before. The rule is actually pretty simple. Watch this quick video to learn the rule once and for all.
Great videos! I'm not Muslim myself, but I want to be respectful to my Arab and Muslim friends by pronouncing words correctly. These videso are a big help.
Love that, glad to help!
great content. i am muslim and i loved your content. keep it up
I'm not a Muslim either, but I love Arabic. I'm trying to learn Arabic and I think it's the coolest thing you're a girl doing these kinds of videos. I tell my wife Muslims have some of the best content on learning Arabic. I'm Mexican, so as you know, we've inherited many of our words from Arabs. You've got my subscription and I look forward to your videos :)
Love to hear that. The way languages evolve and borrow from each other is fascinating.
Your videos are amazing!
Shukran
I have enormous waswas about prononciation.
So can you tell me if it is obligatory to pronounce the « heavy l » and « light a » ? If I say Allahu akbar with a normale A and a normal L, would it be valid for my prayer ? (even tho it is not the correct way)
Best pronounciation
what about the first Alif, to my knowledge alif is a light letter but wehn you say Allah it sound heavy to me? could you please clarify?
Yes that hamza sound at the beginning of Allah's name should be pronounced with lightness when starting on it in our Quran recitation. You are right.
So I guess I can forget about ever learning Arabic 😒
