I know splat gets a lot of hate.. Maybe you should use a different bleach if you wanna use a high quality bleach but ive actually really enjoyed most of the splat colors ive tried and i find they last long. Looks good but definitely should've brought that pink color down some more, where you've blended the 2. The dye must not have saturated fully it's pale there and not fully distributed.

I have used your color for a year with relatively few issues. however, this last box I bought, a purple / blue ombre called "dream", really jumped the shark. first, your bleach (despite ONLY applying to roots, not the rest of my hair which was color-treated with your products) mysteriously made my hair start breaking 2/3 through 1/4 and everything in between way down where the most color had faded out. so just rinsing the bleach through my ends in cold water for a few minutes was enough to make me start losing hair. I have bleached my hair damn near blue-white many times in my life for years on end, and never lost hair like this at any point. second, my hair was also breaking FROM THE ROOTS, which were only a brassy yellow (I have light-medium brown hair) at that point and definitely are not damaged. whatever was going on in this batch started making me lose healthy hair at the root. third, I just saw that I got the wrong instructions in my box. I got the single-color instructions for the ombre, which despite doing many times I still need the visual reference and explanation of the hair ties to do on the spot. finally, the product burnt the shit out of my scalp despite not being directly applied. this has never, ever happened to me before in 20 years of bleaching and dyeing my own hair. I left it on for 25 minutes, less than the 30 minutes explained in the directions. what volume bleach is in the dream kits?! I've safely used 40 many times with none of these issues and have not had this issue with your other colors (none of any ever disclose the bleach volume used). I can't imagine what happened with this box. so here I am on youtube watching a tutorial hoping I remember next door in the bathroom! great!
THANK YOU! they've gone so downhill! last box I bought my hair turned into straw and halfway fried it . never had this happen ever. Used 1 treatment bleach from garnier and it fried my hair completely, so bad I had to cut it all off. Both products used 3 months in between. Idk what happened. I did everything right as instructed. I only use the color now. If I ever get it bleached again I'll go to a salon. I had to spend a lot of coin to get damage treatments even after cutting it off! I shouldn't have to pay $11 for a color treatment if in reality its dollar store hair dye. Get it together Splat.
If the bleach burns your scalp you are suppose to wash it out... This is why your hair is breaking off. It says it in their FAQs. Just so you know, box bleach is always very bad for your hair. You should only use the professional bleach from a beauty store like Sally's. They apparently use 30 Vol in Splat Bleach but I am assuming it is something much harsher that they use. "Why does the bleach feel warm on my scalp? Is my hair falling out? If you are following the directions, your hair should NOT be falling out. Your scalp is very sensitive and the bleaching agents are irritants. If you are feeling severe burning, wash off the bleach immediately and consult a doctor as necessary"

Bleach water running through your hair for a few minutes is called a bleach bath, and yes it can cause damage. It's less harsh than undiluted bleach, but still bleaching your hair.
Yeah no. I just tried their blue and purple. I didn't use shampoo. I used 4, yes 4 boxes. My hair was completely saturated with the colors. I washed it and it all basically came off. Now I have instead of blue on the bottom, a teal and green with some stands blond and instead of purple I have lavender that is faded in some spots. I didn't use shampoo or conditioner, I just rinse with barely warm water. The tips are great but just get a better dye
Kirstina McCree I doubt it because my hair at the ends was already blonde enough before bleaching it; so I put little in. But I do have to admit, you have to use A LOT of dye for it to stay, as I found out when I did it again
Kirstina McCree No, I think the trick is to have it light, yes, but also USE THE WHOLE BOTTLE and leave it in as long as possible, and don't wash it for about 3-5 days after

Cranberry Water you need to rinse it with cold water and use the Splat Color Fade Defense Kit to prevent the color from fading.
