Schnell I have greatly enjoyed seeing your journey of discovery with Nightwish & Floor, and thus far you have been justifiably blown away by this amazing band and one of kind world class vocalist , but you have seen so little : ) or reacted to so little ?
You really must as WE would love to see your reaction to Floor & Troy doing an acoustic Live version of Hows The Heart, then there is Floor's duo with Henk Poort doing Phantom Of The Opera, and Floor's version of Alone , etc.

Nightwish is one of the greatest bands out there at this moment in time.
They never disappoint and I love to see you do more Nightwish.
Marko the bassist mentioned in an interview that he always had to tone down his volume when singing with other singers. When he started singing with Floor he said he could go as loud and strong as he wanted because Floor can outsing anybody. Loved the reaction.
It's amazing to me that a lot of folks...most folks...would have had to sing in a head voice on this, Floor does it in a mixed belt. Kiss my granny this is awesome good!
Tho while she could do it in isolation, she no longer does it exactly like this live.
When having to throw 2-3 hours shows back to back the song as sung here was just too taxing on her voice.
It's not a sprint but marathon.

The Bass player Marko Hietala's original first band was “Tarot” and he is the Lead Singer & Bass player of the band. Marko has all the time been playing with them as a side Project for Nightwish. The 20 year young Marko sings/plays in “Tarot - Wings of Darkness - 1986”: ruclips.net/video/VimogVM3i9Y/видео.html (NO BEARD AT ALL YET). As a comparison more mature Marko sings the same song on 2006 "TAROT - Wings Of Darkness (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) - ruclips.net/video/xD1q21dr8tw/видео.html " (The Familiar Beard on). Also Marko sings with awesome voice technique showing Nightwish actually has/had for 20 years (Marko left NW on 2021) two Lead Singer capable great voices having singers "Tarot - Tides (Live) - ruclips.net/video/3X9lLP7eHW0/видео.html ". One of my favorites! It's unbelievable. When she hangs out on "meeee" on the chorus the sound is like a phaser, with her tone and that vibrato. I can't get over her voice, and I have seen countless reactions and videos, and listened to them all a lot on Spotify. Let's not forget Marko though! Absolutely talented singer as well! The entire band. Floor has said this song is one of the most challenging she sings. That key change at the end brings tears to my eyes, because I know I'm hearing something I'll not hear in too many singers. We're lucky! I can't remember which Nightwish songs you've reacted to, but they're all good. I recommend them all. Live of course. Nightwish is just better live.
If you're thinking of doing a song, that'd be amazing! Maybe try Nemo. All three singers have done it, so it'll give you three examples of how it was sung and as with any cover, you can sing it your way, for your voice and interpretation of course, too! It's a very popular song. One of their "radio hits." I really like it and think it carries a lot of emotion. It's not as reacted to as many of the others. Honestly any song you pick, I will check it out for sure!
Her voice settles in your brain cells and then you have a lost for words to describe what you think and feel.

Marco and Floor sing together a lot btw, gorgeous melodies (Poet and the Pendulum, Greatest Show On Earth, Ghost river)
So this is your first Nightwish song where you hear Marko?
Well, back in 1982 he created a band with his brother called "Tarot" and in that band he is the lead singer and he continued with that band all the way till last year when he retired from the public eye and performing. Tarot is a metal band, and Marko really does know how to sing and sing well.
And some of the best song in Nightwish are those songs where Marko and Floor sing together. It's just incredible.
Here are some songs in which Marko does some singing;
- Wish I had an angel
- Romanticide
- Ghost River
- Yours is an empty hope
There are others of course, quite a few. Those are just some of my favorites. But there are also some songs where Marko takes the lead.
- The Islander
- High Hopes (a Pink Floyd cover)
- While you lips are still red

This lineup of band members is AWESOME!! I really miss Marko Hietala (Bass Guitar) as his presence not being in the band is noticeable (to me anyway). Jukka on the drums is missed as well but Kai is an awesome drummer as well. Love your reactions by the way. Have a great rest of your weekend.

Troy taking over some of the back up vocals, but Marco missed a lot. Others already mentioned them, but for power High Hopes and The Phantom of the Opera, and for ballads The Islander and Kiss ....Red, also Ave Maria with Floor
Thank you for sharing this great reaction. First Nightwish song I ever heard and still one of my favorites. Jukka absolutely killed the outro, as did Floor. If you want a Nightwish song to cover, might I suggest Amaranth, Wishmaster, or Nemo. Be safe and have a wonderful day.
In my top 5 favorite Nightwish songs! I am always amazed by Floor, she's without a doubt one of the best female vocalist I have heard in my life...and I started listening to rock music when I was 8 years old in 1965!
Take a listen to "Elan"... you can listen to it live from the " Decades" Tour in Buenos Aries, Argentina, or watch the Official Music Video...which is excellent! It was one of the first songs Tuomas wrote to take advantage of Floor vocal range!
A tear jerking song is "Nemo"... as the word is derived from Latin meaning, Nobody.
Another is " How's the Heart"...which can be listened to with the band, or the Acoustic version with just Floor and Troy playing the guitar. It is a master piece!

Have you watched any of Floor's solo stuff? Try Floor Jansen in Amsterdam. Also, a fun song her and a Swedish guy did in a side project. The group is northward. The song is while love died. If you like Floor (who doesn't) you'll like this. If you don't play it here, play it for yourself!

Would love to see you cover a Nightwish song! Many great ones to choose from, including this one, which Floor says is one of the most difficult (not that you can tell). So,.... This song, believe it or not ,at that time, was the hardest song for Floor (vocally).
But ,...THIS IS Floor Jansen Ladies and Gentlemen, and now this song is forever on their set list !!!! Also, Marko really showing off on this one 😁.

If you're interested in trying a Nightwish song, consider first trying songs from the Anette era. "Eva". "Cadence of Her Last Breath", "Meadows of Heaven", and "The Crow, the Owl and the Dove" might be good first choices.

I don't think Floor sings it this way any more. I know absolutely nothing about singing but in the Wembley 2015 video, she seems to take it a little easier on jer voice. Not sure if she sings it in a lower key or from further back in her throat but it sounds like it would be easier. I thinl she also makes more use of vibrato at Wembley

Yeah, Nightwish is an awesome band and this song suits Floor's powerful vocals really well. But there are plenty of other songs out there with different musical styles, and in many of them Tarja's voice is better, at least IMHO.
