Can you please give advice on how to become a travel nurse overseas? I'm currently in America, but would like to work overseas once im done with school.
@p.t.9171 My wife is an RN, lol. I think she's overpaid. Very few nurses make the kind of money CA nurses make. So I'm talking ourely about CA nurses. Especially ones who reside in the Sac area. They get bay area wages, but home prices are much lower and thus the cost of living.
Hence why healthcare in the US is so expensive. Most of what we pay goes towards the salaries of doctors, nurses, etc. Oh yeah, and big pharma. Healthcare, to a strong degree, is a scam. But, good for her! 🙃
Except doctors don’t even start to make decent money until they are above 30 with hundreds of thousands of student loans. Nurses usually get awful pay outside of travel nursing and see some crazy stuff. You couldn’t pay me enough to deal with the hours and the mental issues that come with working in a hospital. Also, fun fact but as the boomers age out we are actually at a staffing shortage so that’ll just keep going up.
Wait I thought we want our healthcare costs to go to the providers (doctors/nurses)? I definitely agree with you there’s a lot of admin/insurance waste tho
Absolutely incorrect and misleading! Most nurses work as staff in just one hospital or other facility where they live and unfortunately, excepting California, make very low salaries for the type of job where they are often battled and even assaulted by some patients, their family members, and then never supported and only overworked and.mistreatef and disrespected by management, but they are forced to work alongside travel nurse their facilities hire t much higher pay for shorter contracted period of time. Unfortunately, most people can not become travel nurses because of family issues tying them down, and hospitals refuse to increase pay to just keep their staff nurses so they wouldn't need to hire so many travel nurses due to disrespected staff nurses quitting. The only state that has forced their hospitals to respect and pay even their staff nurses appropriately is California, and now Oregon who just passed lower patient to nurse ratios that will provide better outcomes for all patients and relieve some of the stress on nurses. But most of the money we pay for healthcare goes to pharmcare companies, the middleman in our backward health care system, insurance companies, the upper management of health care facilities, the insurance companies, and pharmcare companies, and their shareholders, not the healthcare workers!!!
@@PrePre_ a quarter of a million dollars isn't what she's worth. Thats the cost of 2.5 nurses and why medical care is unobtainable by most due to high cost.
