- On this episode I begin the real work of tearing down, planning and figuring out how far to take the first phase of Felony my 1968 Mustang Project. If I can sum it up in two words.....no sleep.
It's gonna be a hard road to Power Tour 2024 but I can pull it off.
See you on the road

What a flashback! I remember the day I got my 67, going through all the good and bad things on the car. A year later and the list is still long but I love it.
Still feels unreal to me, does the list ever realllly end though?
@@RidicULooseAutomotive no.. the list goes on, however the interest in things wanes and thats when you pick up another one. Haven't driven my 67 Cougar since 1987, before you were born I bet. Its here waiting for me to finish the GTOs and a Cutlass.. well, get them drivable/race ready.
Cool project. I'll follow along.
I had an Orange 68 mustang as my first car at 16 (1989). It had a 351c with a Top loader 4 speed. Originally it was a straight six automatic but someone before my converted it and it was done poorly. It took all the money I could pour into it with my McDonalds job through Highschool and my stepdad's constant (almost every weekend) help to make it a solid car. What a dream car it was to me, the love of my life. I went into the USAF thinking I would get my dream car, 1969 Mach 1 and just gave the 68 to my brother...who 2 years later wrecked it and it was gone. But I still dream about when I would race my buddy who had his grandfather's 1966 Fairlane GT 500 (390) down H69, north of Tulsa, in the middle of the night. So, I envy you watching you rebuild this beautiful monster!
You are living my garage dream. Daily, rally, weekend, old racer.
Just add more space to that dream lol, tighter than a ticks ass in the driveway rn hahaha
The intro was what i needed to get back on my 65 coupe project! Good luck to you, from the land down under!
Best wishes on the 65 project! Thank you for watching!
You can make it a fastback if you’re going to reskin the roof ,make them everyday, place in Wpg sells them.
Don’t just stick the tip in
Put it all the way
It’s always fun watching Local RUclips car guys
Thanks for watching! Where you out of?
I love the opening monologue. My project is a real slow-burner - currently approaching a decade and it's only recently got into paint - and I lot of people don't understand that it's about the journey as much as anything else. I've had people ask me, "But what will it be worth when it's done?" and I have to explain to them that, in my mind, I'll never be 'done' with it.
The value is something that most people just don't see past the money. All the time and memories and knowledge are invaluable. Make sure you add me on IG or FB so I can see it too!!! Thanks for watching man!!
Progress! You have the right attitude and expectations for home resto work. Enjoy the journey!
Thank you Tom!!
I bought my’67 Mustang in 1972. My sold it when I went into the army 3 years later.
Last I bought a’65 Mustang. Just a nice driver 😊
Watching your ‘68 Coupe journey reminds me of the one I took in 1979 your roof looked like my floors, good luck and I’m looking forward to this build from southern Ontario. 👍
Yea it'a pretty ragged, if you're from Ontario you must know about @theoldcarchannel. Those boys are near ya they do lots of cool old Ford and Muscle car stuff!!
I have not even watched this yet, and I'm on board 100%
As a bodyman for 30 years that roof is toast get a skin lol
Dude can't wait to see what you do, have a 68 also just as bad, this series gives me hope. 🙂
great minds think alike I too have a 67 fb along with a 2000 GC coupe with a fully built EJ257.
My guy!!! Got an IG?
Advice when disassembling. Tag and bag. Things like the hand crank, screw and plastic isolating washer. This stuff is EZ to loose.
The duct tape is probably so the. Body filter would stay on the roof and slow through.
Looks like a candidate for a fastback conversion.
Thank you for watching!!
Felony has good bones overall and aside from the roof, tosses me back to the work on the 66. I know you’ll be able to save it for sure.
It certainly looks like a 90’s resto with the motto "If you cant duck it, f*ck it" and utilization of the cave and pave method of body work. I truly feel that back then, some of the body repair specialists were sculptors more than repair people. YOU GOT THIS!!!
Yea back then they didn't really believe in sheet metal it appears. Ill probably ignore the well sculpted non rusty rear quarters for now.
A worthy car to restore, enjoying the series.
Thank you for watchin!
This is awesome, glad I found your channel! Love watching builds progress. I've been looking to buy one myself as a project restoration, but have had no luck finding any decent deals
Glad you're enjoying the videos! Best of luck on your search!!
Love getting in early on the next big channel 😎
Dude that's really nice of you to say thank you!
I just ran my '76 Valiant in the 2024 "Southern Classic." We rolled it out of the shop, 0 shake down miles. I proceeded to drive to Atlanta, pick up my co-driver, hit the starting line and head to Texarkana. By the time I returned home, it was 2324.6 miles later
Coming on Power Tour then??
10 PM and I should be asleep but Andrew drops a new video and I drop my plans for slumber until this video is over 😂
Sleep? I'm not really familiar lol
I wish I was there to thrash with you! But I just bought a 68 cougar in waaayy worse condition. Drug it out from under a carport. It hadn't run in 20 years. Towed it home and checked the fluids and run a fuel line from a jug. After couple times turning it over, busted off and ran! It starts and runs every time! No brakes though 😢. No hot rod power tour for me😢.
That roof!!! Wowzer. Can't wait to see more - Subscribed!
Yea it's crunchy lol! Thank you
Your content is so cool! Currently binging all your Mustang content. This is where RUclips annoys me feel like you should be on 500k for content of this quality 💯
I appreciate you taking the time to watch! Thank you!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
New drinking game - everytime he says " I don't wanna breathe THAT in". Bottoms up
WASTED LOL
@@RidicULooseAutomotive😂
I love it! Great job brother, keep pushing! Btw Loving The ILB old school beats!!
Thanks man! Yea Im down with the lo fi and chill stuff
Currently going through this pain..
My dream car😢😢😢
it is the most beautiful car in the world😍😍😍
👍🏻
"The car was fully restored in the 90s" 👌🏻
Restoration was the brand name of tape they used lol
@@RidicULooseAutomotive LMAO I think they over sold that to us haha
....I'll add that I've done exactly what you're doing.....but on a 67 Dodge Coronet convertible
looks like a fun project to get into.
If I could make a suggestion? Whatever camera you are using is jumping around way too much. Like, getting sea sick amount! Try finding some better stabilization software or hardware and don’t jump around so much. Slow panning shots are better. Just a quick suggestion, otherwise great job on the channel. Looking forward to more of the Mustang series.
The opening in the valence would be more " Shelby" than anything else that came after the original Shelby's.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice video dude. Liked and subscribed
Thanks man!
nice start the best from holland stay save and good luck
Thank you my friend!!!
I have a originally factory green 68 mustang. It was restored to black inside and out it was that way when I bought it. I wish it was still green.
This one is actually a factory gold, been sprayed green.
wow lot of work great job man.
I have a 1968 Hardtop in Highland Green as well. Were you serious about the sill plates?
Yes they are for sale actually
I have a sixty eight mustang myself about a month ago. I roasted the motor, so i'm back trying to build another one. C j pony parts sales roof skins for sixty seven-sixty eight coupes.
Indeed they do mine is on the way already! What motor do you have 302?
@RidicULooseAutomotive No it was a three fifty on stroke out to a four fourteen it was about five hundred horsepower. Like I said was l o l
I drove my 68 to work back in 86 ,just another 20 year old car back then. Yup in California and it was a California special that was pretty original. Sold it for 600 bucks.
Man, can't imagine seeing even a shell for $600 now a days. Maybe a hood lol
@@RidicULooseAutomotive
It’s the roof and back window to make it a fast back
I think around 6 g lol
@@doubleduty1703 don't want a fastback that's why i bought a coupe
@@RidicULooseAutomotive
You can dream on search words like coup to fastback conversations
Good vid.u getin it done. Da fast way.long my u run.
Chrome heart shining!
Man you got some cool videos, I subbed tho. The mic is kinda hard to hear you at times. Im excited for this build. Keep it up man
Yea I've been fighting audio issues with this camera, thank you for watching I appreciate the support and feedback!
Just subbed only because I want to see how this turns out, how does a roof get that bad? I replaced my quarters on my 67 in the garage, not hard to do. I would be more concerned with the front and rear frame rails and torque boxes if you are going on the power tour, maybe put on some sub frame connectors.
Vinyl top strikes again! Was rusty back in the day and it appears the remedy was to slap bondo and duct tape over it lol. Opening up the floors this week and next to see the torque boxes. Rear rails look mint front is a bit tweaked but not much
I love your music! How to play tunes that that without getting copyright strikes?
I pay a subscription to @Epidemicsound for the copyright free music. It's pretty good I love all the chill tunes!
@@RidicULooseAutomotive Rad. Thanks! I’m really impressed by your builds.
hey sick! another bc dude building a mustang. Cheers
Heck yea man! Where you based?
@@RidicULooseAutomotive lower mainland man! How about yourself?
@@immortalcars5256 I'm in Maple Ridge
That must have been a vinyl top car for the roof to be so perforated.
Yep it sure was!
Before I commit to this series I have to know if you’re going to restore it or restomod it
Looks like a project Pole Barn Garage would not fix and use as a daily driver.
Yea definitely could have been a driver with more tweaks but I want it to be something else! Daltons videos are awesome too I watch all the time
What would be a cause of the roof to rust like that? Was it possibly a vinyl top in a previous rendition?
Yep, originally a gold with black vinyl top
i love the original color
It reminds me of a vinyl top lol :/ But it is a nice color!
The top look like it had a vynile line on the top@@RidicULooseAutomotive
I subscribbled
🤘🏻🤘🏻 Thanks dude!!
Looking forward to watching your progress. Please slow down camera movement you’re making folks sea sick ! 😂
Was it originally a vinyl roof car?
Felony is that you?
Somewhere lol
I can't believe how rusty that car is coming from Cali!
Carbon fibre roof and avoid welding 👌🏼
🤔
Man I wish my 66 mustang was this little on rust repair happy for you thow ck out my mustang build on my channel if you want look forward to the next video
I will definitely check it out! Yea in the grand scheme of cars it's really not bad and Im stoked to do some metal work!!
@@RidicULooseAutomotive you should swap the roof to a fastback that's what I want to do and it's not to much work
Dude, are you sure you should be working on old cars?
Pretty sure yea, in fact I am
If nothing else, should be about a 65 lb weight loss so far... Whoever bondo'd the roof should have filmed THAT shit...
Some picasso level bondo action!
The "shop" is your garage. Your new vehicles sit outside, while the Mustang is inside. Won't be watching anymore, but rest assured if you are tackling this project by yourself, you have your work cut out for you.
@@mikespain8655 yeaaa
