Sir George Clausen, Painter of the Land and People

Sir George Clausen, was born in London and from a very young age displayed drawing skills that led him to become one of Britain's major artists.
He rose to the top having studied in his home country and Academie Julian with Bouguereau. His passion was further kindled by the work of Bastien Lepage, whose work stunned the world with his realism and new approach to plein-air naturalism. Clausen would follow suit with his own unique style which would evolve over time as he embraced the impressionist influence.
