Possibly one of my favourite musical pieces. There is never a dull moment and it always manages to trigger something deep within my soul. As always accompanied by gorgeous paintings, by an artist I was unfamiliar with. Thank you once again.
We used part of this, (with appropriate permissions), as background music to the opening narrative of a film we made about our local Territorial Battalion and the Gallipoli Campaign. It is such a beautifully observed piece of music and set the tone very very well.
David you’ve done it again with the perfect match of music and pictures. One of the early ones used on the CD cover of RVW early chamber music including his wonderful piano quintet. The very soul of Englishness. Thank you so much and as one of your subscribers so rightly says, perfect for Sunday morning reflections....before Church.
Glad you enjoyed it Philip. I've used Sir George Clausen's paintings to accompany other pieces by Vaughan Williams - obviously this is a subjective choice, but they seem to suit to my way of thinking.
