Crazy Speed on a Midnight Express 43 Open ! (Sea Trial 92 MPH!)

- If you like speed on the water your going to want to check out the Midnight Express boat brand . This Center Console is probably the fastest boat in its class and today we hit an amazing 91 Mph before I told Ceo Of Midnight Express Eric Glaser to lay off the throttle.
Not all boats are equal and when your looking for a very fast boat that has plenty of space to party you'll want to see the Midnight Express 43 Open. When we were going 90 plus on those quint 450hp Mercury Outboards it looked like the gate to Heaven!

Be fair 79kts / 91mph is very fast for an open boat. Arguably it's advisable only to test these speeds with more secure seating. Hit anything in the water, and it ain't going to be an airbag your face is buried.

90 in a boat this big doesn't feel fast at all! I've been well into triple digits in 40 foot high performance boats, and over 100 in bass boats. Triple digits in a 40 footer is very comfortable, but triple digits in a bass boat is a white knuckle ride!
@@charlieodom9107 yeah. 45 is super slow to me. But it all depends on how big the boat is.
@@davelowesky8054 I've got a friend with a 14' stick steer that goes almost 50, and it feels like a formula 1 car. Then, 60-70 in a 20 foot bass boat feels much slower.
Same, I hit 60 in my 19ft TOWER flats boat. Anytime I get over 35 is like "Everyone hold on for your life!"
Imagine doing 110+ in a STV or 90+ in a 15ft Hydrostream

Now...Imagine this boat with Twin 1100s and M series drives!!! I'd like to see what kind of performance it would get! Price would be nearly identical to the 450r motors, and with only 2 drives in the water, I'd venture to guess there would be less drag as well.

The two outside motors seem to shake more than the three middle ones, not sure how they are mounted but 92 miles of an hour will make anything shake.

The whole transom mount area looks like it's engineered to flex and dampen some if that up down flex. High side outboards seem to cavitate , I wonder if it's because the prop needs to spin faster than the others in a turn? 🤔. Wonder if that on a controller of some sort like flight controllers work??
