  • They call me the King of Haulover for a reason ! I was able to get the blessing from the owner to show the entire refloat of his Glasstream 32. To make this video even more interesting its paired with twin Mercury Verado 300 HP Outboard engines. The same engines of the Sunk Verado Story ! The Ramps at BlackPoint Marina were watching with amazement as this boat was coming back to life. Today we had pros working and we even have a very special clip of Fred the Crocodile a clip that I knew one day I would see.Its a long video i wanted you guys to see the entire process and boat tow companies can use this as a guide of how to refloat a boat.
The Captain and diver at Tow Boat Us Did an amazing Job !
Special Thanks to JJ for making me look like a Bi--ch on camera !
Amazingness thats what we do !
My name is Alfred Montaner Host of the Chit Show !

I did salvage years ago and the best thing for a submerged outboard is to leave it until your ready to start working on it! Otherwise, if pulled from the water and left sitting more than a few hours the salt will crystalize in the cylinders, rings , and other critical components, once that happens its a expensive paper weight!

I lost a little 2-stroke 4hp outboard off the back of a little sailing cabin boat while it was running, and it took a week before I could get a grappling hook on it to recover it from salt water.
I pulled the plug and cycled the motor after cleaning out the carb, and after replacing them, it started immediately and ran a treat.
Never had a problem with it afterwards.

As a life long boater in the Miami/Ft Laud area and one that lives on the water and keeps their boat in the water I can probably guess what happened. Boats like that usually have very little distance between the deck and outside water line. Meaning if the deck drains overboard there is no much distance. Should the boat become heavy then water will actually flow in the boat through the deck drains and result in this. Clearly the plug was in so that was not the cause. If I had to guess, the boat had a leak like from a thru hull for the bait well or some other thru hull fitting below the water line. Maybe a broken hose or broken fitting. The bilge pump kept the boat floating until the batteries went dead. This is assuming of course the boat was docked there over night. Bilge pump was probably running all night long, once the pumps stop the water rushing in through a broken thru hull will sink the boat in 15 mins. We would not see the water coming from a broken thru hull when the boat was lifted out because Sea Tow pumped most of the water out. Scenario #2 is the guy shut all power off which included the bilge pumps and left the boat docked over night. Maybe it rained that night, the boat took on just enough water from the rain to put those deck drains under water and the rest is history. Had the bilge pumps been working it could last all night pumping rain out before the batteries went dead.

    • @TheByard
      @TheByard 3 года назад +3

@@southside8510 But they took the drain plug out on the dock or had it been replaced while submerged. Drain plugs need to be attached to the engine start key. All the water ski boats I've driven had a split rubber diaphragm fitted to the drain hole, any water in the boat would drain out but none could get in. My 1930s wooden boat didn't have drain plugs, the cockpits drained over board and the bilge had two auto pumps, each wired to separate batteries, the problem I had was the shaft seals would drip after a 6 or 8 hr cruise, these was cured with a few pumps of grease on the stern gland. There was also a standby generator on board and a submersible pump. the later I never used in anger for the 15 years I owned the boat.
Worked on a tunnel job where two tunnel boring machines got flooded with sea water, the back up gantry's were towed out of the tunnels. A specialist cleaning company flushed all the system with fresh water, opened them up and air dried them with fans, no heat was used. 90% of the electrical items were put back in use. The main power cable were only effected on there ends, the cable were treated with a high charge and that drove the moisture out. That was done by a specialist company from Iceland.

First of all what boat company is putting 2 holes below the water line, now Danny T thinks it's because the bilge pumps stopped running?. Now in Alfred's video you can planely see 2 holes on the starboard side of the boat well below the water line, what i would like to know is who built that boat?.

Alfred, well done on covering this story! I feel bad for the boat owner. We dont know what happened or how the boat got flooded/sunk. It would be incredible if you could find out the story behind it, how it happened and what's his take on it. Again, Kudos for the awesome coverage! Bien hecho! As for the pelican, well,, it's nature :-)

I would watch this video and the chip show all day long before I would watch one thing on ABC, NBC, or CBS! Shows like Alfred’s are 100 times better then the shit show that ABC and NBC and CBS puts out! Anybody that watches the alphabet channels is brain dead and bored to tears and it’s 100% certain you cannot trust one word not one word of their news broadcast !!! We know we can trust Alfred’s news because we can see it!

Amazing process of righting the boat, then pumping it out.
Alfred I watched all of the video on RUclips. Chit Show is bad ass. They did an excellent job getting the boat up and out.
Note: any news on how you're going to give away your Verado?
I sure would like to enter. I had to retire early from nursing 20+ years, for our veterans at the VA, due to my own military injuries.
As a result, I couldn't afford to buy a boat after I moved down to Corpus Christi.
I have my eye on an solid older 23' Grady White WA hull for pretty cheap. I would love to be able to help other veterans by taking them fishing.
Let us know what we need to do to enter.
You did a great job with this video Alfred 👍
