  • It is less about how much glyphosate to how much water and more about the amount of herbicide to the amount of acreage.
Tune in as we dive into some basics for mixing glyphosate for starting corn food plots and killing weeds in preparation for fall food plots!

How many gallons do you get out of that 15 gal northstar sprayer?
Reason im asking is i get about 17 gal out of my 25gal fimco before it starts spraying air-esp on my hilly terrain. I end up wasting too much product-looking for a better way to do this
    Thanks

I am thinking your calculations are slightly off as I am not sure you will kill 43500 sq ft of vegetation with 15 gallons of water or 32 Oz of Gly These numbers seem 1/2 what is needed for a good kill off. If the vegetation is tall or woody you will probably have to spray multiple times to kill it all off as initially spray won't reach all lower vegetation. I recommend mixing with 2-4-D on the 1st spray but keep in mind you will have to wait 14-21 days before seeding. For fall plots best to spray early June, early July and early August with just Gly and then plant. If you want weedy plots, just spray once.

So what would you suggest as a mix for a 15 gallon atv sprayer for just over an acre of a new plot that isn't too thick??

The only way to do this accurately is to fill your tank sprayer with water, then spray your field with the water. When you are done, observe how many gallons you used to spray your field adequately. That is the amount of water you will put in your tank along with the glyphosate at 2qtz per acre ratio. Like mine is a 1/4 acre. It takes 8 gallons to cover it adequately. So I use8 gallons with .5 qtz of gly.
