Gotta say, I've had this car for 6 months now and am LOVING IT!!! Why all the bashing? This car gets up and moves like a rocket. Not only is it quick, but fast also.....and gets great mpg. I'm averaging about 25 - 30 in town, 30 - 50 highway. My brother has the TL. Mpg is half what mine is. The ILX is 300 pounds less and makes a world of difference in performance...and has the same engine. It has more power/weight ratio than its' big brother and is so much more fun to drive. So glad I got this car!!!
Bryan Wilson got mine late April and managed to put 4000km on it so far....loving it so far. Really wish I got the tech package though cause the upper screen seems wasted
there will always be haters for every car channel you go to. Its pretty much on your own judgement. As long as YOU like it, it doesnt matter what anyone says. Although its always good to take advise, but your decision is your decision and nobody elses'.
If you buy one, know this, the LED headlights are so bright, get used to nearly everyone on the road (outside city limits) at night flashing their lights at you. It is nice to have so much light leading you down the road. And not just ahead of you but, they illuminate everything on the sides of the road as well. The jewel headlights are truly a beautiful feature and makes a world of difference I've never experienced before. Until you drive one at night.....there is nothing else out on the road like it.
Very helpful video for me. I have the tech A-Spec... still don't know how to use all the features. The car is beeping all the time. The dealer is pathetic where I live, so a video of how the use the features would be helpful.
all it needed was to retain the 6spd manual and I would have bought this over my 2015 evo X hands down. its such a unique and beautiful car. and that new engine is an evolution to the new k series. it would have been worth 35k for a true enthusiast like me. but true enthusiasts love manuals, so if no manual, its a no go.
When space is tight in the back seat (which is the case for the ILX or TLX) or if there is a third passenger in the rear, folding down the center arm rest makes matters worse at best or is impossible at worst. Having a bottle holder in the door seems to be a no-brainer for those situations. Besides, Honda has them in the Accord and (I assume) the Civic.
+cebuanostud true, I miss my old 04 rsx-s (comptech supercharged) Thanks for this review Mike, I test drove the '16 ILX both base and premium and your review was on par with my own personal experience. I will probably pick one up as a daily sometime this fall.

I was hoping for him to cover it also, I’ve had this car for about 5 years now and I still can’t figure it out haha. Must have to connect the phone to do it
acura lost their game long ago and they just don't see it. even the financial performance has to speak of some failure. geez.. boring ... they are nice but not worth 30+k.
I Wish they went the way of Germans for the stick on the left side of the steering wheel for cruise control. It's dumb on the steering wheel. Also there is no reason why we should have to turn on cruise control TWICE. I hate having other lights on the instrument cluster and that Cruise green light will getting annoying. I use cruise control everywhere pretty much all the time.
Tried, VERY WELL equiped for the price.. but I ended up buying an A3 2017.. because the design is too boring and the interior is 100 times more ugly in real. Acura really needs to step up their game.

Agreed, i love my ILX
How you still liking the car ? I'm looking into getting a used one
Has it been reliable??
Such an underrated car. It can be had for a great price in 2019.
This is hands down the best car review I have seen on RUclips. Thanks for your hard work. Much appreciated. Subbed based of principal

Great review. My daughter just bought one. Helping her learn all of the technology and safety features. Thx!
Im contemplating between this or the TLX pre-owned. Theres a lot around my area for less than 20, 000 mileage at prices of 18,000 to 22,000.
I just got this Exact Car and color. Thanks for the info very helpful.
How does it drive?
looks like the 2015 civic! i loved the look of the old one instead of these new ones
just got one of these there amazing :)
+ABANDON chicago Keep us posted in 4 months.
+ABANDON Gaming Me too... love it
6:11 That RSX tho!

I’m tempted to get one of these. My buddy works at Acura and will sell it for $21,000 and it has only 116 miles on it
THE seats are leather with suede inserts not cloth.
Thanks :)
MikesCarInfo no problem, my wife made a big fuss about it at the dealership until the manager explained to her it was suede instead of cloth.
It's a dual clutch not really a dual clutch automatic, but I see how some people might describe it that way.
how is the front seat legroom? I like to have the seat far back and legs almost straight so hopefully this car can accomodate.
I test drove one and it’s actually spacious for driving . I’m 5’9 and dad is 6’1 and both fit fine. Back seat is a tad smaller but very nice

Bravo sir great video.
This car needs to have AWD as an option to stay competitive. Great interior and great looks. But without AWD it's a really nice Civic.
This car would easily be able to compete with the Merc CLA and Audi A3 but need AWD.
+Paulog1990 Agreed, but my only thought to that would be fuel economy.
What is it about Acura not having bottle holders in the rear doors? TLX is the same way.
It has two cup holders for the front and two cup holders in the back, why would you need more?

yeah i wish acura would come out with a sporty coupe, had a '02 rsxs.
+cebuanostud I agree! I drive a 2006 Acura RSX and I would buy a new one if they were available.
+cebuanostud
true, I miss my old 04 rsx-s (comptech supercharged)

❤❤❤
This car really needs a Manual.
i64X There’s a reason to remove a manual transmission on a luxury car because the sales wasn’t good enough
+mikescarinfo make a 2016 range rover sport or the evoque
Nothing says not luxury like a manual gas release lever and rear seat releases ONLY front the trunk.
if you got a new car what car would it be??
+Henry Pacheco I wish I could buy a new Acura RSX but they don't make them anymore.
What do the button under the back button do? You skip over it
It transitions the screen from day to night mode.
A civic touring has cap less fuel system and remote start ... Etc. Is the step up to an Acura ILX really worth it?
And it also has Apple/Android Car Play and a much simpler infotainment system.
+victor almonte electronic parking brake
Honestly the ilx won't be worth it until they update it like the civic
Civic is fugly, can't compare the two since the civic is so ugly. this is an entryl level luxury car,new civic is a souped up economy car
Is there not navigation?
I was hoping for him to cover it also, I’ve had this car for about 5 years now and I still can’t figure it out haha. Must have to connect the phone to do it

geez.. boring ...
they are nice but not worth 30+k.
Does this car have the same engine as the 2013 honda accord coupe XL-S?
I actually fell asleep real boring but the exterior is very nice I just wished the interior was luxary I like the cloth on the new 2016 Hondas better
Dangle down lol
+DimachkaS i know id expect something better from a luxury car..
my '93 nissan sentra has that..

Naaaaa I'd rather buy civic touring

Thanks for sharing your experience :)
Just not luxurious enough inside. Pass.
Over Priced Honda Civic ...
