The best thing about The Edge is Capt Matt and cruise director Giuseppe The ship/food/shows etc are all 10 out of 10 but Matt and Giuseppes' people skills are above excellent! I cruised from Rome to Sydney last November/December It was so good I'm now in Alaska going on the Celebrity Summit on 14th June and have a second cruise in September with Celebrity around Japan and South Korea!
Hi Chris, great top 5. I know you did not experience it, but don’t underestimate how much the magic carpet improves tendering. It is so much more stable, comfortable, spacious and safe than any other tendering platform I have been on other ships, plus the really comfy tenders !!!
id love to cruise on celebrity edge, it looks so stunningly elegant :) im hoping it comes back to aus in 2026, if it does im booking a cruise on her :)
Blah ship. I'm so disappointed in it as a Celebrity fan. First and foremost, if a ship lacks elegant lounges, I have little interest in it. Second, the spaces are more hotel than cruise ship and that's something Celebrity does not miss in their earlier designs. Third, this is just a trendy ship and theaters like the one in it will be commonplace on new ships soon. But the biggest problem is none of the spaces, except two, maybe three MDRs, evoke the type of modern interpretation of the 1920s-1960s style of earlier Celebrity ships. I think the Magic Carpet is an eyesore and I'm not sure how well it is utilized. I dislike all the multi-tiering everywhere. It's like the ship concentrated on putting in as many restaurants as possible and shops on it and de-prioritized romantic mix and mingle and dance venues. And I don't like that this ship dedicates prime real estate to "Retreat" passengers in the top fore of the ship. Celebrity hasn't done this level of classes before and I don't find it a welcome sight. Nothing on this ship impresses me.
