After yearsss of gel wash-n-gos I think I’m finally switching teams! Recently I’ve been styling my hair with foams and mousse and the results have been amazing! My hair is more lightweight and voluminous and the process is also so much easier. I have been using foam for a while but my favorite thing is that if you need a pick me up in between time you can reapply the foam to make the curls spring back or reshape them... my mind was blown👍🏽👍🏽😀
Dry time alone is why I switched over last year lol. I love foam now it’s it’s only thing I use! Twist outs, braid outs… I even use it to do slick buns!! I’ll only add edge control to the front. At the moment I’m testing the other doux foam, the bee girl one. Not as much hold but I love the softness. And it layers nicely with the custard for more hold. Great video!
I hate to mention another youtuber on your video but I think it would be helpful. Naptrul85 used the same product and the first time it came out looking like yours. Second time, she moisturized it thru conditioning and deep conditioning. The only product she added was the moouse and baby, EVERY CURL CAME OUT DEFINED AND PERFECT. Plus comments was made she didn't use enough. Going to target to get me a bottle and excited to see results. Hope this helps

The results were definitely beautiful! I do want to say, that the mousses formulated for textured hair, are made with a leave in conditioner already plus a ton of water. So it is definitely best, to avoid layering with heavy buttery products, if you want the hold. Typically it is best to use it on damp to dry hair, and applied heavily/soapy looking! Then use whatever methods to distribute the product!
I've been scared to stray away from my Eco, but I started watching your videos years ago because at that time your hair was the most similar to mine & your methods worked for me. May give it a try.

I agree! I use this mousse everyday and it’s an all-in-one! And the doux stylists actually advise you to use ALOT and lather the product for best results. Works perfectly for me every time 👌🏽
I need your knowledge please, the product dry my hair and it doesn’t hold long. Any suggestions. I use olaplex 4 and 5

I am going to give mousse another try. My day 1 hair looks good, but it goes downhill after that when using mousse.

Giiiirl me too! I’ve just started using foam and moouses(and medium hold gels) to style my hair and my high density fine strand low porosity hair, loves It. Since it’s lightway it absorbs into my hair easily and drys fast. Which is a HUGE plus for my hair that normally has trouble drying. And I get good volume on my first day hair. (Another plus for me since my strands are super fine) Still lasts me a whole week. Highly recommend

I recently fell in love with this same foam and process. My hair more kinky texture than yours and it is so easy to get the curls to pop. I actually hated doing wash-n-go's when using gel because it took forever to get my hair to curl and the drying time was crazy especially with me having thick kinky hair. LOVE THIS VIDEO!
The Doux Products are not meant to be used with other products lol 😂… use it by themselves
Is there a way to do this without heat? I've been natural since 2016 and do not use heat on my hair at all.

What would prevent humidity from freezing up the wash and go, is there something in the foam? Or is it that olaplex oil?

Yes mousse does Wonders for your hair I use it all the time. Gel for myself just made my hair to heavy and not light. I order some products from Stylequeenproducts they are great products.
I switched to Pattern’s light gel and a different brand of mousse. I love the lighter feel of my hair instead of the heavy gel.
I switched to foam last year, and it was a God send. My curls be defined, and the drying time is 5 times faster. I use the Mielle extra hold foam curl mousse.
Hi sis, is your hair coarse or silky? I just bought this product and I want to try it for a wash and go but I'm not sure it will work for my hair. Many thanks
@@Treaks1981 I have a 4a. Curl pattern. I simply apply it to small sections of hair for the best wash and go. Curls be popping for days especially, if you sit under the hair dryer for 30 minutes.

If you’re using The Doux Mousse Def you don’t need to use a leave in because it already has conditioner.
I have been using this product for about three years. It is a great for wash and go and twist outs. You don’t need anything else when applying. I also use the Pop Lock by them. Curls pop for about 5 days
How long does the mousse last for you if you are using it daily or every other day? (As I have the same hair type)

I can usually stretch my products bc I only wash my hair once a week. With the right styling products and sleeping with a bonnet and silk pillow case my curls stay intact pretty well and I’ll refresh them during the week with a little bit of water and a little bit of product if they get funky. Do you wash your hair and put product in it every day?

Yes!!! Idk about other foams but the Mousse Def foam is EVERYTHING! Started doing my type 4 wash n go last year with Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic and top it with Mousse Def. I will never use anything else for a wash n go! For twist outs I use only the foam. I used to love Cream of Nature Argan Oil foam for twists but Mousse Def is even better! I got the advice to use ph balanced shampoo, skip leave in conditioner, and always sit under the dryer for at least 15-20 with a wash n go, and it’s been a game changer. My hair is much more hydrated and my styles last so much better.
What's the name of the shampoo that you use? I'm type 4a/b and I want to try new products for my wash n go's currently I use a leave in curl activator and then a gel. I'm trying to change my style regime. Thanks
Fe Phoenix, thought I replied but I don’t see it. I was recommended AG apple cider vinegar based shampoo and Briogio Don’t Despair Repair conditioner to use once a week for a month as a detox from oils and cremes, and then to use it once a month with moisturizing shampoo and conditioner weekly. For that, Ive been using L’Oréal Ever Pure pH balanced shampoo and conditioner.

Hi!! New subby here and so glad you posted! I have two questions : so you don’t diffuse but you sit under a hooded hair dryer? And to if you use gel on your Washinko and you stretch your hair with a hairdryer, I find that my hair shrinks back up after I’ve try to stretch it with a hairdryer. Any solutions to that?
Hi so when I stretch my hair I just hit the roots only I use the nozzle on the dryer pull hair to straighten the roots without disturbing the curls. I hope that makes sense. She used the gel on her edges alone

ILoveTheDoux has some of the best mousse on the market! I like to use the mousse by itself or use the mousse in combo with the ilovethedoux big Poppa Gel! I swear both are heaven in a bottle/jar.
I wanted to try big poppa and mousse def together but the owner didn’t recommend. How did yours come out? Was it sticky? And what order did you apply? I was going to apply gel then top with mousse for hold

I have tried this mousse many moons ago and unfortunately didn't work for my 4B/4C hair. However, your hair came out great.

I am still trying to find the quickest method but I do love using mousses for wash and go's . I have only tried mousse def so far but I did pick up MIELLE Pomegranate & Honey Curl Defining Mousse today when I reupped the mousse def. The drying time is the best part. I usually do the shingle and rake combo. I will try it with a hair tool next time and see how it goes
