  • The Landels-Hill Big Creek Reserve is located in the rugged coastal mountains of Monterey County. This reserve captures a number of habitats, from terrestrial to freshwater to marine ecosystems, which makes for an extremely unique and valuable laboratory and classroom. Research at Big Creek ranges from fish conservation and management to climate change in the redwoods and much more. Because the reserve is protected and fairly remote, it is critical for long term research.
