Just finished my first year here & I return to this video all the time. It's truly the best stunning, diverse campus.
My son will be coming in as a transfer student in the fall. It is an amazing campus. I have been visiting Santa Cruz since I was a kid.

You live in amazing town, please cherish and live life to the fullest there. I remember when I used to stay in Santa Cruz over the summer every year from 2007-2013, I was only 10 years old during the last visit, but I still vividly remember everything, and I do miss it. In 2013 I moved to the east coast and now Florida is my California. But I still look back at all those years ago, and i get severe nostalgia, for that region of California from Monterey to San Francisco, that is what I miss; I have so many childhood memories from that place, mainly because my home at the time was in a desert in the middle of nowhere near Idaho, and NorCal was a vacation away from that isolation to go somewhere fun and exciting. I dont miss my old home, but I do miss my old Second home, that is, the bay area of California. Anyways, I just ask that you cherish the beautiful place you are in, in Santa Cruz, because to me it is the best town I've ever had the opportunity to stay in, and the memories I have formed their will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.

I just got accepted like 2 days ago and now I’m here to learn more about the campus. From here…I’m in LOVE and it is definitely one of my options for UC’s 😊

@@nternetrat im still here! went to community college after i actually initially went to UCR after getting denied at UCSC when i was 18, in 2014. been a wild journey with my mental health. studying sociology at ucsd now and planning to pursue the mental health field afterwards :~)

a maximum security prison and a state hospital for
the criminal insane both E. of the Mississippi River.
I've retired but continue my speleology interests.

I went here for cheer camp freshman year in high school, absolutely beautiful school. Nice dorms.
I'm a California community college transfer student, and I got an approved TAG (transfer admission guarantee) to UCSC for fall 2013! although UCSC is not my #1 choice (UCD is), this video helped me to appreciate and be excited about my backup plan. hope we all get accepted to the schools of our choice. peace & one love

i went on a field trip to this camp place called mission springs when i was in 7th grade and i hella like santa cruz so ucsc will be my #1 college choice. current a junior in hs so can anybody tell me how hard is it to get in?

depends on whether your a california resident or not. I would say that your sophomore and junior GPA's need to be in the 3.8 range considering thats the average
@Ks3Kevin every UC is good. It only depends on what you want. I'm currently attending UCSC and love it because I feel like I belong here. :)

It may be fun as a student to go to an eccentric university in the redwoods, but you pay in the end when you compete with graduates from other UC universities. I was able to secure a very good career at the University of Washington, Seattle, but I don't believe I could do the same today. The best I can say about UCSC's reputation now is that it is pedestrian. It can't compete with UC Berkely. Carefully consider which department you affiliate yourself with. Make informed choises.

Only, only go to UCSC if you are majoring in a study that is one of their strenghs. You'll waste your time if you go there to get a degree in Liberal Arts. There are plenty of adeqate departments that don't provide for your future. Go for astronomy, not history.

Which is unfortunate since it seems like a decent school.

AND SAY , UP YOURS, WHEN THEY TELL YOU TO PUT A MASK ON.
Avoid this scam. There is not enough housing in the area for the amount of students accepted. You will likely find yourself homeless on your second year unless you can afford 40k a year in rent and if you’re lucky enough to find a place. Try other UC’s this one is nightmare
