    I tried FSD and I love it, I was going through a yellow light and I was going to over-ride FSD and stomp on the brake. Fortunately I told myself "I will let the car handle this situation" and I did not stomp on the brake. After I drove through the intersection, I looked in my rearview mirror and there was a Cadillac Lyriq 3 inches off my rear bumper. FSD saw that car on my bumper and kept going through the yellow light avoiding a crash. Had I stomped on the brake, I wouldn't be here today. I am a believer!!😊

    • @myaccount__7269
      @myaccount__7269 7 дней назад

      That is not fsd not stomping on breaks because car was behind you. Fsd was just programmed to go through the yellow. Also you should have overrode the fsd and hit the gas in case. In any case the car behind you was way too close so if they hit you would have been their fault.

    Hey buddy, thanks for the shout-out. Since you do the CT to Marco road trip so often, consider a YT never done before. Show an EV going on the auto-train from Lorton, VA to Sanford, FL. Sorry, the train doesn’t stop at Buc-ee’s. Bring your own libation & heavy snacks because Amtrak food is 7-Eleven quality. John from Boston & Bonita.

    Keep in mind, V12 has not been ported to the highway stack. You’re still on v11 on the highway. V12.3.6 only works on city streets, and it’s really great. I use it on almost every drive now, with very little interactions. Even my wife is using it now!!!

      I’ve done the trip from Mass to Naples a few times in a Tesla. Don’t get a FL speeding ticket like me because you’ll not only pay a hefty fine, but also must take 4-hours of paid remedial drivers education on-line with intermediate and a final exam. You’ll hate it.

    Talking about places to eat while driving reminds me of when we wee in our Honda Goldwing Club. We would make long rides to restaurants and while we were eating we would talk about where we were going to eat next. Ride to Eat, Eat to Ride was our motto. Lots of fun.

    We needed a vacation too and we were 10 hours behind you from Cape Cod to Florida. Took the ID.4 instead of the Tesla and had no issues with CCS charging to and from. We specifically took the Tappan Zee and the western route through the blue ridge mountains to avoid the stress of I95. Picked up I95 again in S Carolina. It was significantly better.

    30:00 glad you mentioned the minimize lane change setting. Unfortunately, it gets reset every time the car is powered off but it's easy to set by pushing the right scroll wheel to the right (it will display the setting on the lower left of the display) so you can change it on the fly. When I tried the trial version, I always turned on minimize lane change for the reason you mentioned. FSD loves to hang in the left lane for no reason at all.

    There a several things I’ve found that FSD has trouble with or that I have trouble with it, BUT wow, FSD 12.3.6 does many things like a good driver. Yesterday, I was in the leftmost of two left turn lanes approaching a turn at 14 mph with a tractor trailer a little ahead in the other turn lane. As the truck made the turn it blocked the traffic lights and my car gradually slowed down to 8, seemingly to let the truck clear the lights, and as soon as my lane’s light was visible (and still green) the car speed up to 25 and finished the turn. It drove like a human who is paying attention.

    I think the uptake on the full shelf driving offer is going to be somewhere between zero and 3% maybe. I took a road trip last weekend 600 miles and I use full self drive for most of it and while it’s convenient, I can’t imagine paying for it. I have enhanced auto pilot so I could pay it but if I ever do get it, I will pay $99 and rent it for a month if I need to take a road trip.

    I have a 2023 Model Y. I tried the free FSD trial in April and decided it wasn’t worth $99 per month. On each drive I took, it did at least one or two boneheaded things.
    FSD drives like a cross between an overly-aggressive and not very alert 16-yr-old boy and an excessively timid 80-yr-old woman; and it requires more concentration than normal driving. It’s both annoying and fun, like a poorly designed video game. I might have paid $20/month for the novelty; but no way is it ready for prime time; and it’s certainly not worth $99/month.
    Pros: self parking, maintaining appropriate speed and lane centering on curvy roads, driving on city roads with stop lights, auto lane changes on highways
    Cons: navigating through parking lots, inching out too slowly at stop signs, improperly dealing with merging traffic on highways, and mishandling complex intersections
    Here are three examples of FSD making dangerous decisions:
    1. Four way stop: I was going straight at a 4-way stop. There was cross traffic, and my car stopped at the stop sign and then decided to inch forward into the intersection. It stopped while sticking out into the cross street, leaving partial room for cars to cross. A FedEx truck coming from the left stopped before the crossing and then began to cross. My car then decided that was a good time to go forward and accelerated rapidly. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid a collision; and the FedEx driver cursed at me.
    2. Highway merge: I was in the center lane on a highway, and my exit was coming up on the right. The car decided it needed to get into the right lane to exit at the same time that a car was merging into the right lane from an on ramp. My car made it into the right lane, but it cut off the merging vehicle- the other car had to slam on its brakes; and the driver honked at me
    3. Complex intersection: I was going straight on a road where I had a stop sign at an intersection where I could only go straight. Traffic coming toward me could either continue straight or veer left onto a road that came off at a diagonal to my right. Cars coming from the road to my right had only one option- continue onto the road in front of me. At the stop sign, my car handled oncoming traffic fine. However, it completely ignored the cars merging from my right; and after stopping at the stop sign, it tried to accelerate right into a car that was merging. I had to slam on my brakes.
    Conclusion: FSD is a gimmicky toy. It is dangerous and not ready for prime time.

Also let me know what do you think about the Tesla why Jupiter new edition how much when they’re gonna be ready when they’re gonna selling in California.😂 interesting to buy it but also interesting Mercedes and BMW so let me know if you check the Mercedes dealer and BMW dealers because competition doesn’t sleep and I am very interesting of the companies . Your programs very interesting specially because you are explain and learning from Tesla many things superchargers super idea idea if Tesla has two years free charging if you buy it new car I think BMW have it and Mercedes have it too. I’m not sure just a safe money for two years, because this cars, Maintenance Insurance tires registration charging seven times in the road trip how much you spend the money it’s not cheap. Of course this is not the car for the poor people but well monthly payment for the Tesla how much is 700 $800 a month plus insurance plus extra. Upgrades and other things 😮😮 which one you wanna buy it

    Problem I see regulators in some countries may not allow the name and too many who don't watch youtube who own the cars and may also not be on social media will think it's autonomous driving as it says self-driving in the name. Wonder if they'll be idiots on RUclips figure out how to cheat the FSD system and hop in the back seat while their car travels down the interstate at speed like that one in I think San Fran who didn't care if he had his car taken as he'd just get another one.

      @MegaBlahdiblah 11 дней назад

      Yeah. Was about to ask this. I am stuck with FSD 11.49 for the moment. I test drove a Tesla with FSD 12.3.4 on the same route back to back. No comparison. V12 is way way better. Not perfect, but the difference is dramatic. ETA: Ok, I see that you guys are running 12.3.3

    • @LordStevie
      @LordStevie 11 дней назад +1

      12.3.3 is only for city streets. On highway, you’re still on the old autopilot.
      When the wheel jerked on him, the car may have seen another car moving towards him, that he didn’t see, since the car is always looking in 360 degrees.
