    I’ve had my Tesla for 10 days and just started using fsd the last 2 days. The future is now. This drives better than 75-90% of humans. I live in Princeton NJ and 90 year old folks drive all around this town. I’m going to buy full package for 8k.
    I need the help with evening driving.

      Prepaying for 80 months worth of FSD? What if in a year or two we all realize we need more sensors or cameras for all-lighting-all-weather-incl-natural-disaster FSD? There is a reason hw5 will (likely) be vastly different than hw4... It's actually built for the current (neural) architecture. In other words, you may want to upgrade your Tesla in 2-3 years and *never* recover that $8k fee.

    Awesome video ❤ I'm also waiting for to se 12.4 and It's so good now. Some huge differences between USA ❤ and Europe ❤ is that USA still uses 4-way stops, red lights everywhere, one-way lanes and kind of dangerous unprotected left turns. I can't speak for all countries in Europe. But 4-way stops and dangerous unprotected lefts are mostly solved with turn abouts, we have them in droves. Tiny, small and large ones. One-way lanes exists, oc, but they are rare. If FSD manage USA it will manage Europe for sure. One thing that will happen here and not so much in USA is tiny roads in a 1000 year old town and it might use reverse to make a right hand turn. But that is in low speed, it will be solved. (Suicide lanes 😂😂😂 impossible here in Europe)

      Tesla FSD watches you like a hawk when it is engaged. I can drive without blue screen nags by keeping one hand on the wheel, letting the wheel support my arm so it knows I'm there and doing my job of paying attention to traffic, etc.. If you look at your phone, or otherwise seem like you aren't paying attention to the road, it will nag you a lot, even disengage FSD and lock it out until you stop the car, exit and start driving again. As the car's supervisor, it is your job to pay attention, even disengage and send Tesla a voice note when you don't like what it is doing.

    Great video...but... There are enough haters watching these videos that some of them are going to start crying to the NHTSA about speeding and then we will see that agency crack down on Tesla again. Then we will have our speed set by bureaucrats instead of being flexible. This needs to be posted on every video where excessive speeding is being observed.

    • @1strychnine
      @1strychnine Месяц назад +1

      I completely disagree. You have control over the speed that FSD goes. What's the difference between that and cruise control where you also control the speed of the vehicle?

    • @Fatman305
      @Fatman305 Месяц назад

      Perhaps you count me as "a hater" because I logged the *excessive* speeding as a mistake. I think the default, even in aggressive..I mean assertive mode should never be above 10% of speed limit, except following some other speeding car lol, just like I do... If you're "above the law" or just willing to get ticketed, that's fine because I do take those risks too, so that's where you should be able to request the car to drive 20% (or whatever) above the speed limit...or even 50%...(say you have a true emergency and really don't care about getting ticketed)...
      Those who will go cry to whoever about the speeding FSD will likely shoot themselves in the foot when actual tests prove the AI cars should be above the human law because their reaction time and road comprehension allows that with zero additional risk...

    • @shallenberger57
      @shallenberger57 Месяц назад

      @1strychnine The current FSD has an option to let the car decide on the speed, not what offset you choose. With this setting you can't adjust the speed down or up. The other setting allows you to set an MPH or % over the speed.

    • @shallenberger57
      @shallenberger57 Месяц назад +1

      @Fatman305 I can agree with what you said... I am just saying that RUclips posters continuously displaying the speeding of FSD is going to instigate those haters. Plus, the current option of allowing FSD to choose the speed without an ability to throttle it down is bad. The other setting of MPH or % over the speed is good enough plus you can adjust the speed with your scroll wheel.

  • @markl3893
    @markl3893 Месяц назад

    Don't forget, the car is using a different, older software 'stack' driving on the highway and is only end to end neural on city streets. Don't expect highway driving changes. When my car tries to perform a lane change line dance I give it a bit of go pedal and it completes the lane change quickly. Same thing when it acts like it doesn't know how to make a turn at an intersection - go pedal wakes it up and it drives better.

      Think about what you're actually saying. No human chooses to have an accident. Humans can choose to crash cars, of course, but then those crashes wouldn't be called "accidents." So the problem is not in a human's judgment, but in one's ability to react quickly enough to avoid accidents and feel safe while riding around in a vehicle. Since these machines are built for humans, there is no other way to drive than the way a human would drive.

    Those little "things" you say and have noticed are not part of its model. Remember it only mimics best possible ways on how to act in situations it was trained on. Clearly it has no reference when it comes to loose trailers, ladders on top of trucks and other possible dangerous things. To be cautious in those areas it needs to be trained on videos showing accidents involving those objects. And you can be sure it would be impossible for Tesla to get their hands on those kinds of videos which they could use in their training data model.
    As time progresses, and more videos get submitted, the model will only get better.
    But then you would have another option in the settings instead of ASSERTIVE you will have to pick CAUTIOUS. So are you a cautious or assertive driver? You can't be both.

If everyday people can describe the risk, then a simulation can be created for it, and an AI can learn how to handle it before ever encountering it...
