Best Oration in the Philippines

This isn't really his best performance. This was part of the whole variety show crafted for a final project in English (wherein he was the director, must be hard for him to perfect this piece at that time).
Anyways, this orator won the National Archive's Day Oratorical Contest held at Rizal Museum, Cebu City :)

I am an international English teacher, Now I know why Filipino young learners and adult learners speak with so much rising accent! this is not a good oratorical delivery, very staged! very unnatural! veery over acting and too much flair on the speech delivery :(

Filipino own version of reciting our literature is different from Westerner's. Try to listen to Filipino poem(Tula in Filipino), then compare it to English poem, you'll see the difference.

This is an oration not a poem, never lecture me on linguistics for this is my expertise, I can recite poem in Filipino and I can deliver orations, monologue and speeches the way it should be delivered. and do not think that correct accent is only from the west, know what is neutral accent and natural delivery, I am also an actor, never lecture me on oral performance and linguistics for this is my expertise.

+Rodel Socito if I may, teacher, while I believe that you are right, maybe it is unfair to judge the entire country through a single oratorical piece. Filipinos tend to put more feelings into what they are saying rather than paying attention to correctness. Also, it is expected that we can't speak the language perfectly because we're not Americans and our local language is not English. Please understand. I know that its title is an overstatement but, Filipinos will be Filipinos.
