Thanks for vid. Have just bought a very tatty 2000 Mr2 with a few issues mainly it won't rev past 2000rpm, it just cuts out. I believe it could be precat so this vid should help me take it off for inspection.
Thank you, I recently bought another mr2 roadster and had the exact problem you're mentioning, it wouldn't rev properly, fixed the issue by cleaning the MAF sensor - only took 5 minutes and solved the issue for me. Definitely worth trying 🙏🏼. All the best
Bro, You don’t need to clickbait your videos. You have good honest material as it is, just be patient the views will come. I found your channel as we both have a mk5 golf (mines 1.9 match though not gti, but the mods still work) I also used to have a 54 reg mr2 red edition(precat issue fixed), wish i stilll had it now so i could follow on. Just keep doing what your’re doing showing us your journey on your cars, its good stuff, nobody likes clickbait, but everyone loves an honest mechanic.
Thanks a lot for watching, I've got a few videos planned for the Golf, just difficult given it's currently lockdown. Hopefully have something out this week.
Thanks 👊🏼. I got it second hand on eBay, it's a Powerflow exhaust custom made. I know there's other dual exit exhausts think the TTE is a common option.
Great vid I've just bought my first mr2 roadster 51 plate. It has a slight flat spot on initial acceleration. Could the pre cat failure cause this at all?
Thanks for the comment, it could be worth cleaning the MAF 🤔. I always recommend new owners join the Facebook group "UK MR2 Roadster Owners Group" , there are a lot of knowledgeable and helpful people and old posts you can search through. Enjoy the roadster 👌🏼
Hmm, could be worth re-setting the fuel trims 🤷🏽♂️ When I done mine the car was off road for a while before so would've been very difficult for me to notice anything.
My manual say 37 nm for the manifold nuts
Yeah, watching it back I think I meant to say 27 ft lbs which is 37 nm.
Didn't realise until now 😂, good catch
Pinned this comment so others can see 🙏🏼

Appreciate the comment 🙌🏼
Thanks! Great job! I have to take the PreCat this summer. Will do it the way you did it.
👊🏼👊🏼
Love your videos man, especially the golf gti ones I’m looking forward to seeing some new videos

Offt sick trickshots 😂💯
Did your check engine light go away?
Yes, after replacing o2 sensors
Dumb question, but why do I have to step on the clutch to start my car but you don't have to?
What car do you have ?
@@HimiJ MR2 Spyder 2003
Nice videos!
Where did you bought that dual exhaust system? Really like it. Tks

I can't say pre-cat failure doesn't cause flat spots, but more likely to be something else (like the maf needing a clean)
I gutted mine not long ago and sure it’s lost a wee bit of low end torque, maybe it’s just in my mind
Hmm, could be worth re-setting the fuel trims 🤷🏽♂️

how many miles did you have on those pre cats? they looked pretty good
Around 70k miles
You better be in your house fixing this car and no outside
Why you hiding you hair under that hat?
The hat disappears for the trick shots
Asad Ali Sarwar sent me heren
Thanks Asad-Ali Sarwar
Click bait
😂
