This really highlights the difference between actual musicians and manufactured bands. Manufactured bands are finished as soon as their looks fade, whereas actual musicians still have their own writing skills to fall back on.
Some of my favourite songs of my childhood...Don't Stop Movin' and Reach for the Stars by S Club 7. One Love and All Rise by Blue!!! Such good jams!!! 😍
Even though they are no longer famous, they look really good! These are not sad stories to me. They had a moment of fame that most people don’t get. Glad to hear you tell the story.❤
My dance instructor has told me about “glitter crash” where as a performer you sink into a post-show depression and go a little crazy for a bit. I have experienced it myself, for sure. Now imagine being a huge pop star in a girl group and suddenly, no more group and no more gigs. The orders of magnitude difference in our experiences of glitter crash have to be huge.
First of all they were not pop stars nor were they singers and musicians. They were stage performers whose role was to legitimize fake music. The sorts of tricks that were used was to have 25 year old men dancing around on stage so as to influence 8 to 12 year old girls into getting their family to spend money on worthless junk. That era was the start of the destruction of music in the popular culture. What you call a glitter crash is really performers who come to the realization that their careers were limited and used up their best years of their life. The real sad part for those performers were when they bought into the hype and actually thought they were rich and bought properties, cars and jewellery all on credit. Many went bankrupt because they were in the dark as to what was really going down.
Absolutely. My whole life I’ve been in entertainment in some form of the other, and I can remember pretty much every band that I was ever in, at the end of the show… No matter how many people were there, I would want to not stop playing. same thing with comedy and acting. It’s like this big adrenaline rush, and then you fall off the cliff and you still have that adrenaline going and don’t know what to do with it. Almost looking for anything you can do after the fact in order to be able to deal with all of this energy you have left over. Still to this day, I feel the after effects of performing. Like an energy that just will not turn off.
I was such a big S Club 7 fan and still am to be fair. They released some great pop songs! But for me, I see Hannah as both a singer and as Abby from Primeval. She was incredible in that show and I rewatch it every now and again. So good!
Ohh. I soo love sclub7. Had my heart broken when they broke up. I was shipping Hannah and Paul so bad. I love their tv movies as well and their tv series on Disney channel.
These guys in the early days were once my sources of joy and inspiration. Their music had been part of my younger years.. and for that. Thank you guys very much ..🙏🧡
It is probably why so many people of that era have no culture or creative element to their generation. They were raised on a mindless cable tv diet of trashy corporate performances that were not real music. When people today wonder why there is no pop music remaining well they can go back to that era and see it developing. Some of them could not even perform basic singing but yet were dancing around stage with little clothing miming and acting like they were singing. When they had instruments on stage the children watching did not even know they were props and actually though it was real music.
Netflix really need to make this show into a series but with all the pop stars from the 90’s, I’d definitely watch it! This is so interesting and all these people were quite a big part of my childhood, I’ve literally just come back from seeing Blue and Bewitched live on tour tonight. I’d forgotten how good their music is (especially Bewitched) and they all looked and sounded really good. I think Duncan and Anthony had the best vocals followed closely be Lee but Lee had by far the biggest stage presence. I’d give anything to go back to those days of music!
Why would you saying “I’ve never heard of them before” make you look cool? It’s just means you were born in like 2007. B*witched and S club 7 were literally music party staples in the early 2000s
90s was such an awesome decade! I'm 42 can't believe how many years it has flown by. I remember these guys from B*Witched, S Club 7, Blue, 911, & Northern Line.
I used to listen to all of those groups except 911. I only know of Northern Line because I'm a London Underground enthusiast and their songs came up when I was looking for videos about the tube line. They were lucky to make it as far as Edgware (or High Barnet) 🤣
I still bust out the B*Witched occasionally & have fond memories of rewatching the concert on the Disney channel. I’m happy some of them found happiness in other areas as well.
Omg Simon Webbe! Blue came to Mexico City when my best friend and I were thirteen and it was our first ever going-without-parents concert. They played at a Hard Rock Cafe of all places hahaha and after the gig, Simon RESCUED MY FRIEND FROM BEING RAN OVER, a car accelereated towards us when we were crossing the street and he scooped her up and brought her back to safety, I remember he was gorgeous and so kind. Lives were changed LITERALLY!
I’ve seen that Blue’s been having a bit of a comeback recently and that they’re releasing a new album soon - the little girl in me is so stoked for it! I don’t think the UK’s produced a male singer with the vocal abilities that Lee Ryan had since Blue were in the charts! British pop was awesome back then. I had Blue and S Club 7’s albums back in the day and also loved listening to B*Witched’s track C’est La Vie.
I hope everyone checks out their new tracked “Haven’t Found You Yet”! It’s such a great comeback song with amazing vocals. If only their upcoming tour included my country 🫠
It's incredible how much more humble these people are than most 20-something celebs and "influencers" today. This should be shown in schools, as it's way more relatable and useful for our modern fame-obsessed teens than most historical biopics and other stuff they show you. It's important to see that money and fame are ephemeral and don't last, your happiness if it's to be found at all, comes from letting go that this is what will do it.
I think the difference is "fame" today is measured by a different metric and it's over saturated. Influencers can be considered famous if they have lots of followers online, but no major impact offline. And much of their fame is manufactured and they're self involved solely because they are the whole production (compared to a celebrity who has a team of management, a stylist, hair and makeup, etc.).
Wow, so nostalgic! Im 31 and remember everyone! Its sad to actually hear about how life was for them after their successes. Even now though, their music brings good memories and nostalgia! I can’t resist some of those old tracks blasting in the car. Go go millennials!!
As someone born in 2000, I always forget Hannah Spearritt was in S Club 7. To me, she's Abby from Primeval (that show was straight fire btw), so I never really knew her to be a pop star 😂 fair play to her and everyone else in the video for talking about all this though. As a young musician its super interesting to hear! :)
@@centigradz2centigradz289 you should watch it. She really good in it. In fact everyone who been in it is really good. I always found Hannah to be better as a actress than a pop singer.
This should be a tv show. A half hour or hour on each person, a trip down memory lane for some of us, some cool music and maybe a warning or two. I know I'd watch the hell out of it.
I remember seeing Blue live around 7 years ago after waiting my whole life. I felt so bad cause they played their new songs but nobody knew the lyrics because we were all 20+ years old women in the crowd. I see Simons point when he said the audience simply grew up. Blue will always stay in my heart ⛵
No it was not. In that era many children would still have got to experience good music, movies, tv shows and so on but many would have unfortunately been subjected to the types of corporate fake music that those in the video were part of. What they were involved in was worse than pantomimes that tend to be a local affair for a bit of fun. 25 year old men dancing and performing to 8 year old girls and pretending to sing and play music was and is still absurd.
Simon Webbe has some amazing solo songs as well. Coming Around Again and Grace are iconic and Ride the Storm was also really good. People who have not listened to his solo stuff, do check these songs out.
I’m on trivia team that plays every Monday night and they take song requests between questions and B*witched’s “C’est la vie” is a regular request of mine. 😂 Total bop.
The songs of Blue, 911, S Club 7 and lots of other bands have been a huge part of my childhood to teenage years. It's just sad to know that their fame faded but hey you guys once ruled the music industry and made us (your fans) happy 🤍 Good luck and God bless to everybody 😇
These ppl were everything! 90s, baby! The tunes come to my head and I hummed them every once in a while. Def holds a special place, especially when they used to come on the radio on a car ride.
I was a big fan of B*Witched and S Club 7. I had the privilege of seeing 911 and B*Witched when they were on The Big Reunion tour, both were amazing. Lot of love for S Club 7, Hannah was always my favourite. I still listen to them now
Legends? Pmsfl 😂😂😂😂😂😂 NONE of these are in the same league as real music legends, Freddie Mercury, Prince, Aretha Franklin, George Michael, David Bowie, Michael Jackson.
Seriously! That song was the first performance I did at a talent show with my brother and the song always comes back to me when I really need it - it's truly poignant and magical!
Simon Webbe vocal is so iconic. He's song " *after all this time* ' is still sticking in my head. Why don't you keep posting song or at least covers on your youtube vevo channel, Man. The Moffatts do that and they made it.
I’ve always wondered what you’re suppose to do after a lifestyle like that… because for most people, (even if you make it in the industry), doesn’t really last long in the grand scheme of life like 5-10 years unless you’re absolutely massive like a Beyoncé/Madonna level popstar
I am from Eastern Europe and had the surprise to see Blue live at a 'The Voice' show taping that I happened to attend. I then pictured they were not difficult to afford anymore. I had my telephoto lens with me and the tv crew was too busy with the live to tell me anything, so I happened to take some pretty good pictures of them singing, too! One of the very few foreign bands I happened to photograph. They were my cousin's favourites in high school
This would be an amazing series, especially to see the differences in bands and members after the break up (B*Witched being family for example), S Club 7 becoming S Club before the break up (and Hannah having a period of being on a popular TV show after), etc.
I watched 911 and Blue perform live when they visited Manila, Philippines for their tours. I've always been a fan or '90s and '00s music. Lee was my fave in 911 and Simon was the sweetest when they had their autograph signing. I love this video! ❤️
Americans who didn't listen to late 90's and 2000's pop music totally missed out. So fun! I discovered BSB and 'Nsync before they came over to the US. Edit. Im totes American btw
Although I am completely unfamiliar with these people, it’s still fascinating. I concur with previous comments, I would watch an entire series about this.
Wow I remember S Club 7 I use to watch their series and loved their music. Same as B*Witched. Actually once in a while one of their songs will pop into my head and I look then songs up on RUclips lol.
this was so lovely to watch, they really made some amazing songs, and they'll be able to treasure that forever. they've been given the gift of fame AND life (kids and marriage), possibly in a better order than most stars these days
I'd watch a longer documentary about this! Such a weird experience, it'd be really interesting listening to those who went through talk about it in depth.
I love this, they made us all happy and still continue to! Not a night out goes by without B*Witched getting played! “Some people say I look like my da” 😂💖
There are many more that sadly ended up the same way or maybe never got the same success as in the early 90's: Westlife, Atomic Kitten, Five, Geri Haliwell.... etc.... but I Still listen to their music! Nothing like 80's and 90's jams! ❤️
Listen S Club 7, I used to watch their show. Their song, "Never Had A Dream Come True", I still know every word. B*WITCHED was an awesome group as well. Though they were one hit wonders, their music is timeless.
B*Witched was always massively underrated as a band because they were written off by the media as a tween girl band with a couple of cheesy songs and the tacky double denim but I have seen soooo many bands live and B*Witched are definitely in my top 10 for their vocal performance and stage show.
Old pop stars never die. They think they do but the truth is the generation that grew up with them will always remember them as famous and more than likely still listen to their music from time to time. Look at all these 90s and 2000s group reunion tours where multiple artists tour together, those are usually super successful.
Simon from blue and the lass from s club 7 are by far the most famous and known of these people. Know enough to be known as individuals and not remembering their group as a whole
I've never heard of any of these people, I think I'm too young (born 2000). But I'm glad I came across this because in a way, me (and others like me) discovering them means that that haven't been completely forgotten💛. And so many people in the comments remember and love them still from what I've read so that's great too! 🙂
B*witched was one of my first ever cd’s I owned. I remember being maybe 10 years old and getting it for Christmas from my parents and it was the best thing ever. I listened it to over and over for so many years. I think my parents now have it
I think the hardest thing when your fame fades very young is probably finding purpose again. If you’re smart (which many pop stars aren’t lol) you’ll have saved your money. But these people probably went into music thinking that’s what they would do for the rest of their lives, and I think it would be very hard to let that go and try to find new dreams.

An band like this could sell A million records in the States and 100 000 or 200 000 in Canada, so if a song like Cest le vie in the States is number 9 in Canada it is definitely going to be a lower number, because an artist like Usher that sells a million records in The States, can also sell like a million records in Canada, you know what I mean... Anyway internationally B*Witched was kinda a flop. The never even headlined a tour, the opened for Britney Spear and Nysnc That was like the most successful tour they would have had, with the most shows, an opening act, at the height of their career. They were definitely one hit wonders, if you grade by American music, which as far as one it wonders goes, America dictates it. Hence the show S Club 7 In Miami, Hollywood, the walk of fame!!! The closet thing In England there is to the walk of fame, is becoming a Sir or a Dame to the Queen. So I'd say they were definitely one hit wonders. But don't get me wrong, they're awesome there the best I'm listening to Castles in the Air right now... I love them dearly. Missed an opportunity to see Aqua this summer at a Casino a few hours from my house.... : ( ... I didn't hear about it till the day before the concert, I had no one to go with... I asked my mom, whos retired, and she said NO !!! Ahhhhhh. B*Witched will always have followers especially in Europe ! They should be Damed !
Too many people are proud of being ignorant, it's very sad.

Their music was the soundtrack of my high school days! I still love them to this day.

Oh my God, this makes me feel sooo old! My my how time flies! I swore it felt just like yesterday I sang to B*Witched, S Club 7, and Blue! 😂
That’s what happens when you sell a V and say “lovie”!
Oh JESSIE HOLD ON! lol I loved them as a kid!!
This really highlights the difference between actual musicians and manufactured bands. Manufactured bands are finished as soon as their looks fade, whereas actual musicians still have their own writing skills to fall back on.
B*WITCHED and S CLUB 7 were, and always will be so incredibly special to me
Sameee!!
It is so sad that you find that special. It was the start of a mindless culture of corporate fakery. It has resulted in what the world is today.

Still listen to B*Witched to this day! ICONIC sound.
Some of my favourite songs of my childhood...Don't Stop Movin' and Reach for the Stars by S Club 7. One Love and All Rise by Blue!!! Such good jams!!! 😍
Still listening to this day!
Even though they are no longer famous, they look really good! These are not sad stories to me. They had a moment of fame that most people don’t get.
Glad to hear you tell the story.❤
And aren't ruined by fame like some!
@@julijepp Yea! They look better than some of the young ones with current fame.🤣
Yes it seems like there dreams came true and they were fine with it
Isn't it better to not be recognised everywhere you go and chill anonymously a s spend the royalties?
Hannah was homeless from S Club 7 soooo
You know I've never connected the two! Post show blues are so horrendous but I would connect that to an out of favour popstar, thanks for sharing!
"Glitter Crash"
I thought you were referring to Gary Glitter!
Apparently the same thing happens after sports events, the Olympics etc. seems a common phenomenon that isn’t talked about or supported enough.
I was such a big S Club 7 fan and still am to be fair. They released some great pop songs! But for me, I see Hannah as both a singer and as Abby from Primeval. She was incredible in that show and I rewatch it every now and again. So good!
I was scouring the comments to see if anyone remembers that show. It was so good.
Ohh. I soo love sclub7. Had my heart broken when they broke up. I was shipping Hannah and Paul so bad. I love their tv movies as well and their tv series on Disney channel.
I still play dance dance dance and dance in my kitchen
It was so cool that s club 7 had their own show that their music was incorporated in. My sister and I LoVeD it 🤩🤩
You should watch her death scene in Seed of Chucky 😂
These guys in the early days were once my sources of joy and inspiration. Their music had been part of my younger years.. and for that. Thank you guys very much ..🙏🧡
If you were a teenager in the late 90s to early 2000s, you'd know them. Their songs are amazing
I was but I’ve only heard of S Club 7. Maybe bc I’m American?
I absolutely loved these bands!!!
I was a child then and I know them lol
@@sweetmother2406 I‘m German and I‘ve never heard of any of them.
I guess some people just don’t do their own research 🤦🏽♀️ can’t believe the ignorance they show
90s was such an awesome decade!
I was obsessed with Blue at one point. Simon Webbe is still so handsome. Glad he's doing well.
I still bust out the B*Witched occasionally & have fond memories of rewatching the concert on the Disney channel. I’m happy some of them found happiness in other areas as well.
Yes, every now and then I'll think fondly of that concert and all the other Disney concerts at that time. Good times!
S Club 7 used to have movies and a show too. I was probably around age 10 and watched it all religiously 😂 I just remember Blue's song all rise.
Ah yes I LOVED it!! I’m Dutch but I remember them, they were a big hit here :) Feeling old now..35 years old haha
I still listen to them whenever I question my sanity.
I love Blue and they still got it, i would def go see them if they played my city
I hope everyone checks out their new tracked “Haven’t Found You Yet”! It’s such a great comeback song with amazing vocals. If only their upcoming tour included my country 🫠
It is not real music it is fakery.
Simon’s albums were so good, and Blues new album is amazing, they have really grown with a style and seem really comfortable with what they are doing!
Just respect to the people who paved the way 🫶
It's incredible how much more humble these people are than most 20-something celebs and "influencers" today.
Well put
good point
Absolutely this
Wow I love this series Idea and it’s nice to see actual people who relate to this❤
Wow, so nostalgic! Im 31 and remember everyone! Its sad to actually hear about how life was for them after their successes. Even now though, their music brings good memories and nostalgia! I can’t resist some of those old tracks blasting in the car. Go go millennials!!
I'm still obsessed with S Club 7 ❤️ Hannah has always been my fav
I still listen to some of S Club 7 songs to this day, they're great uplifting songs and I love it, and Hannah was one of my favorites in the band
love Primeval
There's a scene in Primeval where they use an S Club 7 song and "Abby" just looked around like "WTH is this".
It's strange coz for me as a 87 baby she will always be a pop star. There is no way I would watch primeval coz it would ruin it for me. 😂
@@centigradz2centigradz289 you should watch it. She really good in it. In fact everyone who been in it is really good. I always found Hannah to be better as a actress than a pop singer.
I was in a touring band for about 10 years, and we always used to say the same thing about 1 hit wonders… THEY HAD A HIT! You know how rare that is?
Some of them even had 2-3 hits!
This should be a tv show. A half hour or hour on each person, a trip down memory lane for some of us, some cool music and maybe a warning or two. I know I'd watch the hell out of it.
Same here!
It is called Behind the Music from Vh1
I remember seeing Blue live around 7 years ago after waiting my whole life. I felt so bad cause they played their new songs but nobody knew the lyrics because we were all 20+ years old women in the crowd. I see Simons point when he said the audience simply grew up. Blue will always stay in my heart ⛵
If you don’t know who S Club 7 is then I just feel bad for you…they were a big part of my childhood from their music to their TV show
Their show was so good!
🔥🔥
Heard of them but I know I’m not missing anything. Crappy bubble gum pop music. Try listening to real music people.
@@sweetkiss119 thanks for your input, Brooke. If we host a wet blanket contest, we’ll be sure to call you!! We were kids you fuckin weirdo.
the 90s was a good time to be a young kid with all of these guys!
He's an absolute stallion aswell
Plus Blue is having somr sort of come-back,it's not like they're totally obsolete.
"iconic"? 🙈
He was the one that held the rest up.
He was/is amazing solo. I still listen to his tracks. Still listen to blue too lol
As an American these UK groups were a hugeee staple in my childhood and to this day S Club and Bwitched are on my playlist ❤
B*witched and S Club 7 were my jam! And now I feel so old. Has it been that long? 😂
I still listen to them now
Seeing Simon and Hannah really takes me back to my childhood. One Love was a banger.
These guys are all legends in their own right. Respect to you all i and hope life is treating you all well at the moment. Stay Strong
Legends? Pmsfl 😂😂😂😂😂😂 NONE of these are in the same league as real music legends, Freddie Mercury, Prince, Aretha Franklin, George Michael, David Bowie, Michael Jackson.
Growing up in the US, I didn't know a majority of these bands... but S CLUB 7!
I was obsessed!
First of all, if B*Witched had a reunion tour tomorrow I'd spend good money on a ticket. Your fame hasn't faded girl, we waiting on the comback!!!
They're back together and regularly perform.
@@JonMeFree The same could also be said about Blue and 911.
@@JonMeFree Mama, they aren't coming to the USA.

They should be proud ❤❤❤
"Don't stop! Never give up! Hold your head high, and reach the top! Let the world see what you have got! Bring it all back to you!"
How poignant!
Seriously! That song was the first performance I did at a talent show with my brother and the song always comes back to me when I really need it - it's truly poignant and magical!
"Hold on to what you try to be
Your individuality
When the world is on your shoulders

For people asking, the bands are Bewitched, Blue, 911, S Club 7 and Northern Lights. Mostly UK band with the exception of Bewitched who were Irish.
I’m so happy to see they were able to find their calling after their music careers
Hannah definitely did some acting though! It was always so fun seeing her
Agent Cody banks - seed of chucky - primeval - East Enders - casualty - and a lot of indie films.
Simon Webbe vocal is so iconic. He's song " *after all this time* ' is still sticking in my head. Why don't you keep posting song or at least covers on your youtube vevo channel, Man. The Moffatts do that and they made it.
B witched was my go to music as a kid during road trips! So happy she’s doing well!
OH MY GOD BLUE AND S CLUB 7 They were literally my childhood obsession!! they're music was on repeat all throughout my childhood!! 🤩
this was so lovely to watch, they really made some amazing songs, and they'll be able to treasure that forever. they've been given the gift of fame AND life (kids and marriage), possibly in a better order than most stars these days
I'd watch a longer documentary about this! Such a weird experience, it'd be really interesting listening to those who went through talk about it in depth.
There is a doco on it from a few years ago. B*Witched and Blue are in it. I think its called the bog reunion or something. Pretty juicy.
I love this, they made us all happy and still continue to! Not a night out goes by without B*Witched getting played! “Some people say I look like my da” 😂💖
"Fight like me da as well"
You have no idea how nostalgic this feels!😍🤣😭
Blue, 911, B*Witched, S Club...so so good. I miss them all but where's Five though!?🤧🤧
Simon!!!!! This needs to be a documentary! It’s refreshing to see that they’re doing well in life.
I recognized all of them, I still listen to Blue songs time to time 🔥❤
I was born in 75 so teens and early 20s listening to these. Fantastic times
There are many more that sadly ended up the same way or maybe never got the same success as in the early 90's: Westlife, Atomic Kitten, Five, Geri Haliwell.... etc.... but I Still listen to their music! Nothing like 80's and 90's jams! ❤️
I absolutely adore Simon Webb’s voice. Always have. He should come back!
That’s it, I’m off to spotify❤
Simon is so gorgeous!! He still looks so young!
They made my childhood. UK music lives rent free in my house and in my heart.
Samesies
Listen S Club 7, I used to watch their show. Their song, "Never Had A Dream Come True", I still know every word. B*WITCHED was an awesome group as well. Though they were one hit wonders, their music is timeless.
I know all of them! They're so big in Indonesia when I was a teenager. Blue still made a concert in Indonesia too in Valentine this year.
SIMON AND BLUE ARE ICONS IN THIS HOUSE (absolute legends in Italy)
B*witched was one of my first ever cd’s I owned. I remember being maybe 10 years old and getting it for Christmas from my parents and it was the best thing ever. I listened it to over and over for so many years. I think my parents now have it
I think the hardest thing when your fame fades very young is probably finding purpose again. If you’re smart (which many pop stars aren’t lol) you’ll have saved your money. But these people probably went into music thinking that’s what they would do for the rest of their lives, and I think it would be very hard to let that go and try to find new dreams.
B*Witched and S Club 7 were two of my favs! I had their albums and watched the S Club TV show too.
Simon hasn’t aged at all!!! Looking beautiful as ever!
Still don’t understand why Blue couldn’t stand the test of time !!! They were brilliant !
1991 baby here! The best childhood growing up listening and dancing around in front of a mirror with a brush to these artists. I won a talent quest dancing to B*witched. Ahhh the best memories
I've heard of them. I am 38 now. In my late teens and early 20s..I grew up listening to these bands .
Admit it u still know the chrous to C'est La Vie and the S Club 7 theme song!
And I’ll STILL jump up and do the jig breakdown🙃
Man they could interview old bands from the 80s too. Potentially a great documentary
Hannah looks rough. Like she’s been on crack for 20 years
So this is how Liam Payne is feeling
If One Direction did a reunion documentary, this would be a example of how disbanded groups would feel after getting back together 😅
Simon Webbe from Blue and Hannah Spearritt from S Club 7?! I AM IN!
