I was about to go with the scrambler 400 x but after talking with a friend who owns the bike and hearing about the engine noise and issues i might go with a different bike. dude i will tell you a fact, so understand this clearly, I own a dominar 400, and yes the shims noise is very common on these ktm 390 derived engines of bajaj. and even if you get the shims adjusted (and you should get them adjusted), it will again repeat over the next 5K-15K km and if you have any doubts pick up a dominar owner manual and you can see every 15 k needs a shim adjustment, so relax and learn how to work on your own motorcycle or fin d a good mechanic. and getting shims adjusted is expensive, and tbh this isn't only ktm problem its the same with almost all the shim based motorcycles. also everytime to adjust shims you have to dismantel half of the bike and then remove the valve cover, timing chain, cam guides, cam gears and then do it so relax buddy.....my dominar makes the same noise when it heats up all they need is a valve clearance I will get it done when mine does 15k km
I'll tell you something bhai. Don't feel bad about it. Never go for the products from the first production lot. The first lot of product is definitely going to be the worst product in the lineup. Kyunki company progress h aiyse karti hai. Feedback le leke ki hai kya kya lacunas hai to take care of. You sound like a really good being bhai. Happy riding to you!
It is second lot bike. My 25 is 2nd updated version. You are right about the 1st lot. Mene v isiliye wait kia tha 2nd version ke liye. Fir v ese hua. Pata nahi, nasib kharab hain...Thank you very much for such a nice comment.

Please dont confuse the sound of pre ignition knocking sound with shim noise….this noise will be there if u continue using normal petrol….for a bike with compression ration 12:1 minimum 95 octane petrol is recommend for smooth operation

Brother Check Con Rods For Crankshaft I Was Facing Same Problems if its Not Shim Noise As Per Service Centre For These Type Of Bikes Need Good Man Power But Sadly They Hire Local Mechanics To Pay Less

bhai 2,4 t speed koi or kaa bhi try karo agar dusri bike me bhi same noise he to problem nahi he agar dusri gadi me nahihe srif aapki hi gadi me noise aata he to oh problem he agar aap ko laga noise problem he or service centre gay to Owhaan dusri gadi thi hogi or nahito test drive ke liya rakhaa thaa hoga usko try kar ke dekhna chahiya or sabhi gadi me noise he to common problem he pata lagjata thaa itni magaj mari karneki kya jarurathe thoda akkal lagani chaiya sayad problem solve hojata thaa ya aap vlogs bananeke liya yaha sab kar rahehon
Bro it's a very small issue, i faced the same issue after 1st service but it got resolved by triumph gurgaon, they changed one shim that was broken inside, but they kept my bike for 4 days as they needed some approval from bajaj to open the head of engine. It's a very small issue. After that I have completed 14k and no problem.
The service center did not fix mine. I kept it for 11 days and did not get any solution.The service does not want to accept that the sound is not normal. Maybe I have to go to Gurgaon and get the service done. 1800 km distance, but have to go if not solved here
@informedtraveler8642 bro these people know the issue it's just that your service center is not accepting it, ask them to call gurgaon service centre and speak to them on this issue, how many bikes they have repaired for same issue. It's a very common issue with these bikes.
Definitely this service centre is incapable of solving this issue and doubt how much they are willing to accept it even!! Just get in touch with better one may be they are capable of solving your sound issue

My bike has had this problem since the beginning, so the mileage is the same as before. But my bike power seems fine enough
