- Unimog Hill at Marrangaroo National Park near Lake Lyell, is a short but very steep climb with a couple of ledges and very loose shaley surface with little traction. It is one of those tracks that changes from time to time. Previously the lower step was the difficult section and the upper easy. Now the lower step has been almost filled up and the upper section is difficult.
3 of us attempt the climb. A Jeep Wrangler TJ. A Land Rover 109 Series 2A and a Land Rover 110 County Defender. All vehicles are twin locked and the Jeep is on 33"Nitto Trail Grapplers, while the Land Rovers are on 37"Tyres. The Land Rover 109 Series 2a is running Cooper STT Pro tyres with one front Hankook tyre that was baldish. The Land Rover 110 County Defender is on newish Maxxis Trepador tyres.
There is also some footage from Delta Ridge which is a fatastic trail.

slightly wet, loose and shaley. Recipe for a challenge! Great stuff guys. Cheers for sharing.
Yep, we had a week or so of rain at that time, it made all the tracks interesting. The 109 surely missed his 4th stt pro.
Fukn awesome watch mate 12/10
Great video!
Thanks buddy 👍
got my 110 back in this week, bit delayed in workshop that did mi diff lockers, can't wait to get on some tracks like these and see how much more capable it is.
Great news man. You're going to love being locked 😎👍
Awesome
We'll have to go out that way soon man 👍
Очень впечатляет! Молодцы парни! Отличные машины!
with the right tyres and pressure i reckon the lil Jeep would have made it
They were 7 psi.
What would you suggest?
Unless it was just the editing, I kind of think he just gave up a little early IMO. Shale is such a pita
👍🏻👍🏻✌️
When is muddy like that you should take with you some snow chains and put them on the wheels. It should give more traction. I have seen this trick on an unimog.
Rover Green Beast makes it look so easy.. when others had problem climbing that hill. LMAO
Give the Land Rover 109 his 4th stt pro and he'd have no issues 😎
@@lror The Green Beast has V8 right?
what type of engine does the 109 Rover has?
Both have the same type of engine, 4bd1t 💪
@@lror What Type of Transmission? Lockers?
@@jofher007 the 109 is running an MSA box with locked volvo portal axles while the 110 has an LT95 with arb lockers.
Is the green defender running maxxis trepadors? Great video btw
It sure is 👍🍻
great vid, are any of these cars twin locked?
Thank you, all of them are twin locked.
🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍✊
👍🍻
That portal axled 2a is normally very agile but it seemed to struggle a bit. Were its tyes a bit worn or was there a lot of weight on the tray?
We had had 6 inches of rain in the 2 previous days , Evo just made it look easy
@@brentcraddock7169 ah, I see, thats an awful lot of rain.
@@Pesmog being around 1000kms from home id say he had more weight on than usual and was running a baldish Hankook tyre in the front left which didn't help. You can see it cake up much faster than the other tyres.
Tires. That's it
Yes, I tire faster than I did when I was young ...
What engine is in that 110?
4bd1t 💪
@@lror wish they were more freely available in South Africa
They don't have Isuzu trucks there?
Yup, they do, but a quick search on our equivalent of eBay does not yield any hits unfortunately. Heard good things about those engines.
Daihatsu?
