      Unfortunately, very few cricketers ever get this opportunity to grind out a draw, as most cricket matches are a win/loss result, with whoever has the most runs at the closer of play, winning the match.
      Sure, you can play for a draw due to bad light or weather, waiting for the umpire to call the match, but it's not the same.
      It's really only those playing 1st class cricket (ie. Sheffield Shield (Aus), County Cricket (UK)) or Test cricket, where you have to dismiss a batting team twice, really ever get this chance.

He's played 21 innings against England and has a 30 average against them. He has a 28 run average against India and a 35 run average against South Africa. Usman has only really scored a lot of runs from teams like WI, Pakistan and New Zealand.
      He struggles against the tougher teams and thats when Australia needs him the most. He's been given a lot of opportunities. Two summers ago, he could've performed against India when Australia needed him. He also completely struggled in the Ashes; whereas Marnus was a key player.

    What would I say about test cricket how beautiful it is to see everyone working harder to get over the line.
    I am in love with test cricket.

    I am really happy after seeing this. Try not only to learn from your opponents but if possible, be happy at their success. Although, people might say how can you be happy (for your opponent) if you are on the losing side, but, believe me, this will give you inner peace and will only be beneficial for you (and your team) in the long run.

    Sadly he couldn't adjust and has today lost his place in the squad

      The reason he got dropped was Becoz he couldn't score runs in Sheffield shield either. No one's replacing Warner he had a bad series but is back to number 5 or 6 in the world but he could definitely open with him if he puts together some good form.

    • @abhilasharodrigo3396
      @abhilasharodrigo3396 3 года назад +4

      @toby murphy mate i completely agree with you - he could be in the team again really soon, but it wouldn't be as an opener. they wouldn't replace burns with a leftie coz then they would have 4 of them in the top 6. he's gonna have to wait until someone falls out of form or something like that. i would like him to be opening instead of burns, but i just can't see it happening.

    • @tobymurphy6744
      @tobymurphy6744 3 года назад +1

      @@abhilasharodrigo3396 I can, they had Marcus Harris opening all of the ashes and for the first two games of that series 5 of the top 6 were lefties! They take right hand left hand into account but the selectors basically pick the 2 best openers to open. If usman can get some good form together he'll get in straight away thanks to his record but the problem is his age and it'd be great to find a long term opener, but for this upcoming series against India usman is a huge possibility coz he averages 60 or something in Australia
