Trickster + 3 Sorcerers is peak gaming. I just wish Aromatic Resurgence worked better on spellcasters; they tend to just use normal attacks when under the "berserk fumes". Also, I legit didn't know Tricky Terrace caused enemies to trip. That's amazing.
Seeing you put time into this game is always nice to see. Regarding Fragrant Alarium.. I can imagine it being an interesting skill one day, if the devs add a Weeping Angel type enemy, that stalks and bolts towards your party, causing instant petrification. Being able to see around tight corridors in a Bitterblack Isle looking environment with enemies like those could be pretty cool.
Trickster seems like a good class that pairs well with a Warfarer build to let you swap to an actual weapon once you get all set up. Like Thief or Warrior, take advantage of everything not paying attention to you physically... or play a Trickster Mage/Sorcerer with at least one damage spell.
Yeah clone dies fast if you switch weapons but it's enough time to fully charge 1 warrior skill. The fake wall can be combined with long range weapons. And my favorite is gathering mobs, tripping them with terrace then launching everything with the Spearhand force push.
I think my pawn got affected negatively by the trickster's vaping, she kept going nuts lashing out attacking everything from monsters to objects unprovoked and unprompted,i switched back to archer and she stopped acting like that.
trickster is nice. really nice, actually. but after a while, i got really antsy and really wanted to get stuck in with my party. its just who i am. while im here, though, here's a question. should i play mystic spearhand, my actual favorite class, or MS-only warfarer, considering i dont even like the meister skill? i know the vocations have some passive stat boosts and also have different stat gains on level up, though im not sure on the specifics.
Man, I want to like Trickster more, but everything in the game after you do a few enhancements just gets melted by every other vocation by pressing one button instead of having to play minigames with Trickster. It could have really shone in the early game before you get mega geared, but it comes just late enough that it feels pretty bad. I think it'll have its time to shine in the alleged DLC when everything should be quite a bit tankier and kills take longer and tanking enemies will have its merits. Until then, I think Aromatic Resurgence is a great buff to keep on Warfarer if you have room in its 3-slot-syndrome of a build, but otherwise it's hard to justify it when you can just press X on every other vocation
Trickster is ok, but i like to do damage myself. I am doing all vocations, only warfarer to go once i reach max trickster. Might be interesting to use trickster, mystic spearhand and magick archer for it. Love magick archer the most so far.
Just because many people hate trickster, how it works and how useless most skills are, you can't simply argue "if you don't like trickster, you're shit", that's arguing of a 12-year old. The overall vocation is a nice idea but I agree that it's nothing more than a troll vocation.
I can definitely see it being nice for people who want to play the game more relaxed, in that they can just hire like 2 thieves + have their main pawn a thief or something, and watch them all blender stuff from the sidelines. Like yeah I don't disagree for the average player it's useless and boring, but there are exceptions who might prefer the relaxed playstyle. Also I admit I have no idea what is meant by it being a troll vocation

Trickster is the "Give your little brother a controller" of vocations lmfao. Despite what was said near the end of the video, I really really dont get the point of this vocation. In an action rpg where you're mowing down tons of enemies with 2-3 hp. It really is pointless to have a "tank" that deals no damage vs the other "tanks" that deal Tons of damage and can end combat in seconds
I like playing Trickster a lot, but it's probably the easiest that the game can be. You barely need to bother with other abilities as Aromatic Rally just makes pawns go berserk.
I wish Trickster allowed you to summon your clone a short distance ahead of you--it would help decrease the overall setup time of fake floor + cliff shenanigans.
The most condemning thing about trickster I can say is that you can't use them in warfarer because your clone immediately dies without a constant supply of dank. It'd be hilariously busted if you could, yes. But warfarer is already hilariously busted. And I didn't pay 70 dollars to fight god just to do it FAIRLY.
Man dwarvern smithing is so busted, there’s no real incentive to use the other smithys. The stat differences are so tiny, I bet they end up nerfing it at some point or boost the stat gains with the other smithys.
This is by far the most boring class I've ever played in a game. But it is incredibly effective at what it does. If I actually got any entertainment from just watching my pawns fight this would be an S tier class
I hope we get something like a debilitation vocation, a houndmaster or summoner vocation is also a interesting concept I would love to see. But before that performance patches, 1 Month and nothing.

Threw me for a loop to not be doing damage, but i was stunned by how much my pawns melted enemies and barely ever lost health cus all the enemies were too busy chasing my ghost around. I'd just keep kiting them. I actually really enjoyed trickster. Only issue I had was the pawns were too dumb going against the golems. I'd end up in a stalemate on the last weak point tucked in their arm, the pawns would just walk around like 'hur dur where?' and I sure as shit couldn't do anything, cus again no offense abilities and swing my 'weapon' at it wouldn't do anything. Pissed me off so much cus I loved it until then
when you've maxed out a vocation, but you wanna keep using it - is there any reason to not just switch to warfarer so you can wear the best armour but keep your skills / augments? thinking emoji
warfarer has lower base stats and can't equip maister skills, so if your only gonna use one weapon, warfarer isnt worth swapping to. But I have run fighter/trickster and that is fun
Trickster is definitely a class for me that I will never comprehend. I admire those pro who can play this class really well and watching them as the Trickster makes me laugh because they are just so diabolical and devious. Arrhh I wish I could wrap my brain around how this class works. Hmmm also I hope Capcom brings back the Mystic Knight from the first Dragons Dogma.
Oh yes, if you do the quest for the elf dude sitting in front of the smithy in vernworth he will eventually lead you straight to the sacred arbor, the smithy there does elven smithing. In the noble district of vernworth you can find a guard named Roman (you will need to have the quest to go to battahl or have visited battahl in order for him to be here with the quest) in the left fountain garden, when looking straight at the main entrance of the castle. He'll be wandering around near the flowers or fountain. This quest takes you to battahl, and to the 2nd weapon vendor there that tells you to piss off everytime you interact. You can check your map and look for the weapon seller icons, there should be two in battahl, and the 2nd one you unlock through Roman's quest will do dwarven smithing. She also sells a ton of cool shit
Two things: How are you stomping on ANYTHING as a Trickster???? And why are your illusionary wall/floor actually look like an almost transparent wall/floor instead of just a fog block???
If i'm not using 'Latching Effigy', I usually make my simulacrom (aka clone) to hover way above the enemies with Espial Encense. Even as high as where a cyclops can not reach it. Ofcourse the ranged enemies will still hit it, but no melee. Lot's of clone survivability! Drakes and griffens will laugh at Espial Encense but then we use other tactics.. Great vid !
I still need to find that, Tricksters master skill ^^ Maybe i will find it , on my next playthrough I maxed all of the vocations and... Trickster is my least favourite one Its just boring for me to, watch pawns jump around and have all the fun ;D
Small adjustmet on the Augments you suggested I made is to use the pawn buffing augments from Magick Archer over the Magick Defense and Physical defense on yourself. Like you said you'll hardly ever get hit anyways, so might as well make your pawns even more insanely powerful instead.
Thank you for this. I intend to do a new playthrough and use everything I did not use properly in my first run. And I am really happy that I keep finding more interesting tactics, ideas, and combinations to try out. The only two things I wish Trickster had are 1) More range on some of their skills like Astral Projection and Enemy Detection 2) Ways to inflict non-damaging debilitations. A lot of debilitations from the first game are just not present or exclusive specific skills or items. I want blinding, curse, grapnel etc (Yes I know Grapnel is not technically a debilitation but it is still cool).
I like to play fake trickster as Warfarer. I have 3 trickster skills with Rearmament. Its nice to have a huge sword in my back pocket. Beware though, your simulacrum dies really fast when switching weapons.
I absolutely love trickster as a concept. But then one time I spent 30 minutes fighting a golem because my pawns couldn't find the last weak spot and I immediately switched.
Trickster is very cool, but if they ever make DD3 I'd want the AOE smoke cloud moved to be a core ability. The vocation just feels bad without it, and since that and Delusion are basically mandatory, you get very little space to experiment with more niche skills and combinations.
Terrace was half a disappointment. Only pops in front of you and you cant, obviously, walk over it to put your simulacrum at the edge. So tricking big idiots into jumping off a cliff failed a lot, they'd just stand on the edge and swing at simulacrum there. I see only the ogres falling for it with there drop kick attacks
Hey, can you do a video like the one you did on DD1 the "every vocation is OP" but in DD2? It will be super cool bcs the one on DD1 was very funny and still watch it sometime again and again 😅

warfarer has lower base stats and can't equip maister skills, so if your only gonna use one weapon, warfarer isnt worth swapping to. But I have run fighter/trickster and that is fun
@@Alkiline257 I wonder how bad the hit to the base stats is but no maister skills is a big cost, thats great to know tho, thank you!
Would be fun if sheathing allowed you to swap to unarmed combat. Trickster monk.
I also use Spell Tomes when ever I play support in general. Mage and Trickster the most.
Will you be making a video similar to your EVERY VOCATION IS OP video for DD2? Trying to convince a friend to give it a chance.
Def not my favorite vocation. But I’m very glad it’s in the game. Great guide.

There's dwarven and Elven smithing?
I really couldn't get the hang of trickster, but it is extremely fucking cool and I love when RPGs do weird stuff with their classes
Aggro is stored in the booba
If i'm not using 'Latching Effigy', I usually make my simulacrom (aka clone) to hover way above the enemies with Espial Encense. Even as high as where a cyclops can not reach it. Ofcourse the ranged enemies will still hit it, but no melee. Lot's of clone survivability! Drakes and griffens will laugh at Espial Encense but then we use other tactics.. Great vid !
I still need to find that, Tricksters master skill ^^
Maybe i will find it , on my next playthrough
I maxed all of the vocations and... Trickster is my least favourite one
Its just boring for me to, watch pawns jump around and have all the fun ;D
I want blinding, curse, grapnel etc (Yes I know Grapnel is not technically a debilitation but it is still cool).
this class would be perfect for a coop style gameplay with friends. For pve would be cool if it had some monk style unarmed combat
Literally my first experience after I unlocked the class. If you don't have decent pawns then Trickster is a pretty rough class to play.
Good guide, I'm waiting for a video like "this vocations op". Even if half of the vocations are already op without guides. :D
God i missed the divinity music
Trickster=Vapelord
Hey, can you do a video like the one you did on DD1 the "every vocation is OP" but in DD2? It will be super cool bcs the one on DD1 was very funny and still watch it sometime again and again 😅
