    So I was given one of these by my son in law. No manual. What do the switches do? What kind of flight times do you get? Do you have any suggestions for an app to link up a Samsung 9+ so I can use the camera?

    are you suing selftightening props??
    I have a phantom 1, but the motor caps are spinning in the same direction (clockwise to tight it) ,
    how it possible to use self tighten for this?

    Hi, I enjoyed your video, how many minutes of flying time on dji fc40 does not include set up time for gps ? Thanks

    • @xtratalk1
      @xtratalk1  10 лет назад

      With the standard battery flight time is usually approx 12 minutes

    I just flew mine for the 1st time. Do you know how to set it up so you can control it without needing to see what direction it's facing? By that I mean it will also move the direction you push the joystick so you don't have to see the lights or red tape to understand which way to turn the stick to control it.

      Yes that's called "Course Lock" and if your Phantom has arrived preset then it should be the top left switch you flick to activate it, the quad lights indicate when you are in coursle lock mode.

    I know this is an old video, but I've just bought one. It's the p330d but with the camera it is the fc40? Struggled to find the camera app for android as so old, but found it eventually on a 3rd party archive.
    Maiden flight planned for today. Was hoping to find out how to initiate the auto return / land should I get into difficulties. Anyone? Thanks for the tuition 😀

    Hi...How long does the battery take to charge from the box i'm having the charge light flash red and green and the little cell lights going on and off and its been on charge for nearly 3 hours...Any help please?

    • @xtratalk1
      @xtratalk1  10 лет назад

      Mine usually takes about 70 minutes, when it's flashing green that means it's almost done and when steady green it's fully charged.

      Make sure you calibrate the compass as shown in this vid(the part where he does the 360 rotation) always start the the controller first before plugging in the battery in the drone and make sure both the toggle switches, not the control switches are in the the furthest up position. This way you should start in gps mode and, in theory it shouldn’t drift when it acquires god signal. Flashing green lights should signify it has good gps. Hope this helps.

    Nice video but.... You should say to beginners 'don't try flying like this your first time out'. They may get disoriented with the height and distance and lose thier drone.

    all I can say is well done......for risking giving drone flyers a bad name, flying in a built up area over other peoples property is a huge mistake on your part, this is why experienced RC model flyers use areas isolated from the public and private property. do yourself a favor and please get properly informed on safe fly requirements.

    • @ashleyphotog

      ***** They just need to follow the currant rules regarding flying RC aircraft, we have had model aircraft clubs in this country a long time, but now with the ease of accessibility people can fly anywhere without needing a special take off/landing area, as the new drones are either too small to present a problem or are too easy to fly with the GPS systems. Those using them Commercially do have to have passed CAA accreditation though.

      Yes it's all been a learning experience and I am better informed now. I had no flying experience at all before jumping into the hobby and both ignorance and excitement had me into the sky straight away. I saw it as a new toy with the same law applied to them as kites and toy helicopters and as such did not know about the new laws regarding these, as it was a new hobby I wanted to catch everything I learned and share it on RUclips and that is what I have done. It isn't just a new hobby or toy to me now, I love everything about these and the hobby and have been learning everything legal I need to know so I will be a responsible and safe flyer which I hope will be reflected in my upcoming videos.

      xtratalk1 My suggestion on this video would be to re-do it in an environment better suited to flying, the clearer we make it to people that you cannot fly these UAV's anywhere you want, the less likely we are of incurring the wrath of the authorities and local populations. and therefore our selves in the longer run.
