I just discovered your channel. MAN, you are TALKING TO ME. People have CHANGED in the negative way in the USA. I have lived in the USA for 51 years and at 60 years old, I am preparing my retirement back to the nation I was born, the Philippines. I want to leave the USA so badly, but I need to pay off things first and be debt free prior to fleeing. I grew up in San Francisco, escaped California because of the liberal welfare state mentality, and here now in Texas. But even in Texas, that feeling of neighborhood, that feeling of community that you see in the Philippines does not exist here. You are so right that in the Philippines, strangers will help you at once and feed you with no reservations. Man, I consider you very lucky, and I am following your path very soon. Enjoy the people in the Philippines, the friendliest in the world!

Your "reasoning" is VERY similar to why I am looking at moving in the next couple of years. It used to be that if your neighbor had yard signs supporting a candidate that you didn't that you could actually talk to them and walk away as friends. Now, there's a good likelihood the friendship is done. Totally agree with you!!

Hi Steve. Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I moved to Thailand 20 years ago. I 'married the country' and have been very happy ever since. I find people in Asia far more sensitive and responsive with respect to personal feelings. Their responsiveness enables their valued assistance. Something I rarely found back home. I do keep in close contact with my family and reletives back home, but our relationships are different. -Cheers, buddy. Keep the faith.

Glad you found your life there. My American wife and I are planning on moving there. I'm Philippine born but grew up in the states. We both agreed that the US is no longer an ideal place to raise a family so we're planning our move. I'm also in the military, 1 enlistment in the Marine Corps and now in the guard. Also work in accounting and the lifestyle here is wearing down on us both, especially with 2 kids. My wife got to see the Philippines (and meet my dad) on a mission trip with our church and she loved it. I really miss the simpler lifestyle and the warm hospitality. Looking forward to starting over, being w/ family, and coming "home". God bless!

Thank you for sharing. I was born in Cuba and have lived in the USA since I was two years old. I’m also a veterans retired from the U.S. Army. I too have made the same observation about politics and people insisting that one believe like them or else. When I was growing up in south Florida party affiliation mattered very little, we cared about everyone as people, neighbors, friends etc.
Again thank you for your truthfulness.

I lived in Cebu City for almost a year. I had to return to the US for some family issues. I didn't even recognize the US upon returning. My point is, I felt more at home living in the Philippines then I did living in the US. I am just waiting on approval to move back. This time it will be permanent.

I think I've listed to a few of your videos over and over and this is one of them. I'm in the same boat, not running away but want to find new life in the Philippines. I got some time before I can be their permanently but watching your videos keeps me motivated. I feel with the current political environment here is pregressively getting worse. I have no debt and will keep it that way, trying to save every extra dollar I have so I can be there by age 50 - 52. Just looking for a simple quiet life there. Thank you for you're video's, it helps me out a lot.

@The Philippine Info Channel - Hi Steve, first of I'm happy for you that now you've found the sort of happiness you'd been aspiring for! Your story made me glued on YT since I'm your new channel subs! I agree with you 101% that the States have changed so much in a neg way, I've lived here for many yrs and this country was not like this when I first moved here! Like you said you build your own paradise around you & it did sound you made it well! I also cldn't agree w/you any better when I heard you say 'family is not blood' absolutely right, sometimes other ppl can give you a much needed assistance compared to your own blood! I have many questions about the steps on what to do bef moving back there & how I wish I could ask you more, but sadly I don't have your email where I can comfortably ask you some tips on how & where to start, it used to be that YT had that option of sending a msg to your contacts here where it won't be public but YT got changes in the last few yrs or so! I wish I cld freely provide you with my email here but I guess not :( I got so many questions for you which I'm sure you'll be able to give me some guidance based fr your experience moving to Phil! I enjoyed watching & hearing your story esp the fact that you can live comfortably in the Phil with just a minimal amt of money compared to living standards in the US!! (I'm so glad I came across your channel today & I subscribed as well & liked). Hope to see more of your other interesting vids! Happy Holidays to you & yours! Thanks again for sharing your story with us! It was very very helpful! ♥

And they tend to stick closer, which I think is nice. But yeah Philippines is a small country, so it’s not like we need to travel to a different time zone to see each other, though sometimes you are separated by the sea as well

I love all your reasons why you left you are right about the politics totally agree with that the lifestyle in the United States is just decreased and you don't get your money's worth here anymore I've been watching your videos in a bunch of the other guys videos and I finally met a Filipino beautiful lady want to come over and see what it's like to experience the islands the culture etc etc great information I appreciate that gives me a lot to think about but I think I will always keep one home here and just rent it out I have plenty of people that will take care of my property or my family will take care of it when you were talking about the family you are very right about that situation too me and my kids don't talk too much they just never have enough time or bring my granddaughters around they always want me to do for them but when I need them they're never there it is so sad the way the culture is here people are not the same people that I grew up with in the town I live in Rochester New York is just not the same as it used to be it used to be very family-oriented I'm sure it still is in some ways but not like it used to be this was very close town they still say they're Rochester is one of the best places to live in the United States but I don't know about that

The US is deteriorating; people don’t understand the meaning of freedom of choice; this election proved to be a deal breaker: families have become separated (my own daughters don’t want to have anything to do with me because I didn’t vote for their candidate); do you freaking believe this? I did EVERYTHING a dad is supposed to do, even when they were between jobs. I am dumbfounded, dumbstruck and distraught. If this is the way way they want it, I will not beg them (yes, prior to the election, I had-I thought- a great relationship with my two daughters.
My Pinay wife and I are lucky because we have a European passport, so we can travel visa free to at least 186 countries; we’re still in the US, but plan on giving up the US citizenship as soon as we are abroad (we plan on splitting time between the Philippines and Europe).
I work for an airline company, so my staff travel will remain with me forever (the biggest gift I’ve ever given to my wife).
I lived in Massachusetts before, (most of my relatives are there), but have lived in at least six states (am in socialist California now). We can’t wait to boot out of here.
