In 1950 Thanksgiving fell on 23 November - my birth date, so this project will be fun to do because I am so thankful for all the blessings of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has blessed me all throughout my life. I will forever be grateful. This wall hanging will remind our children of how thankful and grateful it is to be at Thanksgiving and for family. Thank you Jenny for giving us this tutorial. I love it.
Thank YOU, Jenny, and Missouri Star Quilt Company! I often wonder if you know how many lives you have changed for the better just because you are here. Have fun at your birthday bash, I'll be watching all the activities.
I just finished this adorable wall hanging over the weekend and took it into my 3rd grade classroom yesterday. For the last two years I've been taking my finished quilts into school to show my kiddos how I use MATH in my real life (piecing the tops). My, how I loved this project! I used fabric from my stash, pieced the batting together from remnants, and finally was brave enough to quilt it on my own machine. When I see it hanging on my classroom wall I'll be reminded how Thankful I am to have a hobby that brings me such joy and Thankful to have found MSQ to help support my still-developing skills. Love you guys!!!
As far as 8-year-olds go, they WERE impressed. I'm not sure they believe me about the need to use math, though... I'm pretty sure they think I'm making up all the math stuff!!!
love, love, love. So many options of what we can do. What I especially like is the sharing of a seasonal activity in advance so that we all have time to choose fabrics and actually make the project....great job, Jenny and gang!
Love this, thank you so much. As a time saver, and because I have a hand tremor, I cut my heat n bond fusible paper into printer size, then print the templates straight onto the paper. It's a lot easier than tracing.
I have never done applique, but I think that I can do this!! You make it look so easy and give us novice quilters the push that we need to step out of our comfort zone. Thank you for the encouragement that you give all of your viewers. You are a wonderful person and instructor.
Thank you for your kind words, Jan! We hope you enjoy the appliqué parts of this wall hanging, and please let us know if you have any questions. We're always happy to help! :)
November 19th 2020: IAM thankful to have a teacher like you and your team. But, please, be careful with the COVID-19! Your Thanksgiving is near so be careful, please! The same for your family and team.
I just finished making this, and I have to say it was the most fun I've had in quilting for a long time, and I love to quilt, so that tells you how much fun this was. A little piecing, some applique, lots of choices with the scrappy fabric - it had it all, and it was not huge so I was able to finish it in time for Thanksgiving. I give this one 5 stars!!
I just LOVE your tutorials AND your wonderful supplies, Jennie! I just think you are amazing and I AM so THANKFUL for you and the people of Missouri Star Quilting Company!
A couple years back I’ve visited Missouri Star. I really wanted to see you but I realized how busy you were so I didn’t say a word. Then you walked out from the office. I’m pretty tall but you’re taller than I am. I felt like I was looking at a movie star and I didn’t say a word. Our GPS too is to the original store. It was a warehouse. Workers were getting ready to move to the new place. They gave directions and told us how wonderful you and the family were. They said they would have had to move away if it wasn’t for Missouri Star. You can certainly judge a person by the way they treat the people to work for them.
What a cute wall hanging. It reminds me of how I do quilt as you go. I love your tutorials. I do quilt as you go since I have a small machine and not much space. I follow along as you do blocks until it is time for me to sandwich them and later sash them together. I also can't get the hand of "quilting" the top so I do a top stitch around the pattern to hold down the batting and attach the backing. A finished quilt is better than a perfect quilt! This will be on the to do list for sure.
I'm going to chime in with all the other ladies. This is such an adorable project and what a wonderful surprise to see 3 in 1 video. Well done Jenny. I loved watching and looks like a project I can begin soon that won't over whelm me. Thank you.
One of my favorite pattern tricks especially if it's a pattern I'll use more than once is to use scrapbook glue in the little handheld rollers (double sided adhesive), on the back of my printed pattern with old file folders cut my pattern pieces out then use those as hard pattern to trace around. Gives my pencil or pen something to butt up against.
My mind is already thinking what I can do for this project. Thinking will make the little turkeys as part of Thanksgiving place mats. Family would love. Thank you for this tutorial Jenny.
Everyone of your videos are awesome however this one is extra special!. This one moves to the top of my list. I am sooo Thankful for you. Love the longer lesson.
I have had so much doing this with jenny doan...I'm not quite done...but I'm lovin every minute of it...thank you...this will be a hit at our thanksgiving...thanks again...a Christmas one would be a blast
I really liked this tutorial. A little different from the usual quilt blocks . It would be nice to see more in this vain. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏
Lovely video, perfect for a rainy weekend! I was really in need of making a quilt for myself (all my quilts end up going to family!) and this did the trick. Great use of dresden template for turkey feathers! All done and on the longarm waiting for a morning quilt! Thank you again and Jenny you are always so spot on!
I just adore this tutorial. I can't wait to dive in and create my own. Thank You for making this look possible, and fairly easy. I also loved that you put all 3 segments together. Fabulous!!! Thanks so much.
I just love that wallhanging. Love the autumn colours. I intend to make this, but will hand-appliqué as I love doing blanket stitch by hand! Still can’t master appliqué by machine no matter how much I practice! Thanks for your wonderful creation 🇦🇺
Wow! Wonderful tutorial. Love how you combined 3sessions into 1. Did your Thanksgiving turkey table runner way back when. I see this one in my near future to go with my runner. Again, thank you 🧵🧵🇨🇦
Jenny, I was so excited to stop by your store. I am from Arizona and never thought it possible for me to get there. Loved every minute of my buying!! Thank you 😄😄😄
Love this - Thank you for the free PDF'S! Could also put a pumpkin on the rectangle below the leaves. Would have to audition it first to decide how it looks 😆

so happy that they decided to release all 3 parts in one long video bc I don't think I could've waited for the parts to come out separately!
a trick : watch movies on kaldrostream. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Ignacio Drake Yea, been watching on kaldroStream for months myself =)
I think the turkey block and the geese on the side would make a beautiful placemat. Thanks for this tutorial.
Great idea👍
Thanks for suggesting that. I love it!
Thank you Jenny and Missouri Star. You are wonderful

Sounds like a great use of your math and quilting skills! Were the students suitably impressed?

Love this tutorial I used the small turkey, cloud and some pumpkins for a small Garden Flag.
Love this, thank you so much. As a time saver, and because I have a hand tremor, I cut my heat n bond fusible paper into printer size, then print the templates straight onto the paper. It's a lot easier than tracing.

You are amazing Jenny!!!
I love this quilt! Not just the design but the fabric and also the name of the fabric, Shelbyville. That is the name of my hometown, Shelbyville.
As a newbie Jenny , you give me the confidence to give applique a try, Thank You !
Your channel to me is the best of the quilting channels so far as your patterns and especially your mode of teaching is concerned! Thank you
Thank you Jenny. Adorable. I do a lot of appliqué and I draw the feet inside the circle background to save Heat and Bond.

I made placemats with just the turkey. Everyone loves them.

The centre of this quilt with the turkey and flying geese would make wonderful Thanksgiving placemats. Thanks so much.
