As a defensive guy, are you bigger fan of showing pressure and forcing protection adjustments, then manipulating the blitz concept. Or not showing the blitz and coming either late or post snap?
Both!! I’m actually more conservative with what I would do. I love Rex and Wink because I wouldn’t have the guts to do some of that stuff because when it fails you look dumb…I’m a 4-3 guy who would probably run match-zone stuff similar to Seattle if I had a DC job…what about you?
@@TopBillinSports as a former offensive lineman, specifically a center that set protection, I would rather have blitz come late and trust my eyes to see the pressure come. The false fronts and forcing my had to slide coverage was always my nemesis. I never wanted my protection plans to be dictated by numbers, instead of personnel. I don’t want a running back picking up a stud DE, while my LT is sliding down to pick up a 3 technique.
Tim G I respect that✊🏾as a former RB/LB I appreciate my OLine sliding the protection to the strong side makes life easier for the RBs bc I rather block an MLB that’s 215-235 lbs instead of a strong side DE that’s 265-295 lbs it’s makes a big difference

Most definitely, as they don’t lack for athleticism up front. WFT’s secondary may not hold up, though…But they do some fab pressure as well, maybe not as intricate but Del Rio has some tricks up his sleeve. But WFT is rooted in organic pressure and spent all that draft capital on DL for a reason. They shouldn’t have to blitz as much as B-More.
