Better not over blitz, will work against average to poor teams but as we learned from dr.Blitz Don Brown, the elite teams will defeat that scheme.

@@lucasf8144 The comment was a homage to the 2 great D Line leaders, that they themselves are freak talents, (did I word this wrong?🤔)and could bulldoze their way through any opposing O Line, the "not so hypothetical 2 vs 5-6, draw double teams"...let alone the other great talent the opposition should fear. (I did not include Josiah, or any ultra Edge talent..that was the point) mentioned by you. Everyone misreads a statement once and a while, so you must have skimmed it. Not "the entire", but a compliment to the 2 undisputed DL leaders. There is no such thing as too aggressive... The whole purpose of an aggressive defense is to sell to the offense is "it's not going to go down the way you think"
I played corner, they call it today, when I played coming up out of Ann arbor, I'm kind of giving my age away - but there were no such thing as cornerbacks you were just the defensive back assigned to the edge.
Then eventually being courted over to the offense, as a slot receiver, and that's where I flourished...
I know this for the time that I played cornerback, the quicker you can scare the offense into making dumb-ass decisions, on a completely repetitive basis - the quicker the game was over period.
I'm thinking Martindale has the muse at the college level having come from the pros - light em up quickly, and have the depth to cycle through the whole game - all four quarters.
I tell you this, I am looking forward to seeing Martindale's defense!
    M Go Blue 🏈

The public school system has neglected Ann Arbor football. Growing up in Burns Park, it was played in the playground, at Tappan we had 2 light wt., 2 middle weight, 1 light heavy weight and 1 heavy weight. I learned more about business, loyalty, respect and overstepping reticence than in any course. I improved the culture by weathering hardship. Now with NIL, it's a shame A2 football denies local talent, esp. for African/Americans.

@@dankennedy8266 yeah Michigan is kind of shooting themselves in the foot because they're under the delusion that you only have to pay for what you import.

Its great having Wink- BUT he needs to scale back the blitzes. His blitzy D's with the giants were weak. He should learn from his students, who surpassed him- McDonald and Minter. Michigan will have a great seconday. Our D line will be fantastic.

Giants didn't have the horses to run with the competition... Had to manufacture pressure with bringing heat. I'm sure he recognized the talent on this team before signing up and he doesn't have to go as heavy blitz.

I'm not going to lie. As a fan of the Champs. I love the Wink hire considering the thought of maintaining the same system that made us successful, but it is a part of me that's thinking about the Don Brown system. The same system that Ryan Day killed us with. We can say what we want about Ohio's head coach, but his offense makes me hold my breath when they take the field, and that's simple the truth.

Yes Albany isn't Michigan but good play translates to any level of play. You might be right but for a person who has a picture of denard as your pic, why not think positively about what could happen. You could be wrong too and the secondary will be the best, will you still be so negative and say well he's from Albany and that guy only played 47% of the snaps the yr before. Just trying to make sure you keep the same energy. You probably wasn't high on the kid from Massachusetts that transferred in last year either, or liked any of the 2* or 3* recruits who out played other teams 4*& 5* recruits.
