Considering Africa's history with colonialism and empires, taking the side of Ukraine is necessary to show Africa's growth.

USA and Ukraine says pick sides, Russia says that they are glad that African countries stay neutral and are trying to help find a peaceful solution to this war. I say leave Africa out of this, they have suffered enough. I would only thank them for trying to solve this problem.

Majority of Africans are well aware of the root causes of this war, and their past experience with the West is what makes them to avoid siding with them. Even Libya is yet to heal from the NATO invasion.
I would love to compare all the positive things the West and Russia have done for Africa. I think the West should pull back completely when I see how unhappy Africa is with us. Zero appreciation so WTF are we doing. It will save us a lot of money. And space. Close the borders completely. There is enough space in Russia.

Again Africa is taken here as ‘country’ approach. Africa is a continent, just like Europe, the East, the West. It is highly diverse and each country has it’s own relationships with other countries around the world. The approach to the war is different for each country regardless of the continent they belong to.

Nope, it wasn’t. Travelled widely in Africa. Enjoyed sharing a house with African friends/ colleagues in Europe for years. Absolutely horrified by Africans indifference to civilians (including children) suffering in Ukraine. Russian imperialism/ colonialism is no different from other imperialism/ colonialism - it is just wrong.

In africa culture our forefathers taught us to seek for peace first between 2 people . When 2 brothers fights, your duty is not take side, but to settle their differences.

Too sad to see peace efforts regarded as awkward positions and Nuclear Armageddon as an unawkward position. This is more than animosity.
Firstly there is only one country threatening to use nukes daily. How would you feel if someone invaded your country and then constantly alluded to nuking your country if it didn't just give the occupied territories away to the invader? Imagine the precedent. If you succomb to the russian nuclear blackmail then any country that has any nukes can just invade whoever they want and threaten to nuke if they don't get their way.
Secondly, it's not peace efforts that are akward, it's the plans that are proposed. Both the chinese and African ideas for peace is to just give Russia what it wants while at the same time claiming neutrality. The issue for many african countries is that Russia is backing up certain regimes that would collapse without it's military support, so those leaders are in the pocket of Russia and still claim neutrality.
I'm perfectly fine with africa trying to broker peace, i'm ok with anyone who does it. But when the peace plans are tailored to just one side it's pretty normal that they are laughed away.

Soviet Russia and China helped Africa fight Apartheid South Africa. So no awkwardness at all.

Africa cannot forget how Ukraine authorities chose to discriminate them when people were rescued from initial fighting. Their support for Russia is historic.
Of course everyone should have been taken in by neighbouring countries without any hesitation in such an emergency, no question about that. However, India 🇮🇳 and Taiwan 🇹🇼 seemed to be able to organise the evacuation of their citizens. Taiwan was super quick and efficient to get everyone out, very impressive. Modi dispatched special envoys to neighbouring countries, got himself involved with video conferences. China 🇨🇳 just didn’t do anything to help Chinese citizens leave Ukraine for ages. Three Asian countries, vastly different approaches to evacuation of their citizens from an active war zone. During the recent Sudan 🇸🇩 crisis, European countries had to organise the evacuation of their citizens with each other… and Europeans were putting pressure on their own governments to do more, faster, to do better. How come some people do not appear to hold their own governments accountable when it comes to their evacuation?!? Shouldn’t their country and government care about their safety, be competent, organise their evacuation?!? Why is everyone apparently responsible or guilty but their own country/ government? 🤔

Hence why indian had to step in , nigeria and south africa to bring there people home . Have you forgotten that ? You cannot blame Africa's position on this situation, for Russia has been a longstanding ally of many African countries since decolonization. Condemning Russia is far from the truth, knowing that this war is fought in the best interest of NATO. Africa lacks leadership and development; however, no nation is naïve enough to lose ground deviating from its stronghold (Russia).

We do care, but whatever we do you always have a way of saying it's wrong. If we intervene we are "colonising" again, if we don't then "we don't care about african lives". So what should the west do about the wars in africa, pls tell us, we would really like to know. It's easy to whine, it's harder to come up with solutions, especialy when you don't even try.
Also, it's time that africa learned to fix some of it's own problems and stopped constantly blaming everyone else for everything. Am I ok with that, nope, but reality is reality. What africa needs to do is get it's shit together so that it stops shooting itself in the foot. Africa has massive potential, massive. But what happens to it? One tin pot dictator after the other, who enrich themselves by selling out their own countries. And can you blame the world for taking stuff cheaper if possible? You wouldn't pay a cent more than you have to either.
As long as you don't get a grip on yourselves and start getting the governments you require you are going to stay weak. European history is full of rebellions which have lead us to a point where we have it pretty good. You could do the same. I don't see rebelions in africa, it's just one coup after the other or groups fighting for control over resources. You want us to come and kill those groups, i'm ok with that, but then, you know, we'll just be accused of colonialism again.
Also, it's not a matter of the west exploiting africa, anyone not in africa and not dirt poor is doing it. The russians, chinese, europeans, americans, south east asian countries, south american countries, everyone.
The world has done enough meddling in africa, and even if we tried to do what was necessary to give africa a push in the right direction, eg. by demanding that there is compulsory education in order to receive any aid, we will just be seen as colonisers.
Africa cannot be "solved" in a few years, not even decades. You need at least 2-3 generations of a well educated populace before africa stands a chance of reaching it's potential. But our hands are pretty much tied.
If you want to be treated as an equal, you need to make yourself one, china and many other countries pulled it off, it's your turn. But you are going to have to do that yourself. Nobody is going to shoot themselves in the foot to help you. It's up to the african ppl (not the leaders, most of those are absolutely terribly corrupt, you won't get help from them either.
So tell me like 5 things the west should do for africa now, that wouldn't instantly be seen as "neo colonialism" or whatever. Srsly, tell me, i really want to know.
But above all, if you want to have a better future, you need a few things, firstly: education, education and education.
There are other things like women's rights, which also have proven to boost economies worldwide, but i don't think big parts of africa are ready for that. There are other, but if you start with at least decent universal eduaction today, then in 20-30 years, you'll be able to change things.

They're some support from African countries, be happy with that. We live in a democratic society where countries can make their own choice. What Ukraine needs to think about is the way in which black people was treated when trying to escape the war. African and Caribbean countries are still angry about that! One should be asking who is benefiting from this war taking place? Is it possibly those manufacturing the weapons? Pushing for peace first, is the right thing to do.
