A lot of the comments bothered me. Teamwork is one of the most important tools we can use in situations like this. Of course locals knew about this place first, they are now starting offical research to officially catalog & document things. This is a place that they've said has been unaccessible due to war for a very long time. So now scientists across the world are coming together to work together on this project. No one is trying to do anything other than show their respect for this very unique place in the world. The most important thing is to make sure to protect this region from development. It should be treated as a world heritage sight is. Where it proves that it's a rare ecosystem, habitat, place that deserves to be respected and not let toxic development occur throughout it.. I wish more people could see things from a different point of view.. All of these researchers respected & cherish this place

Incredible, thanks for filming this. The feeling of standing in a rainforest must be one of great awe. Without the collective effort of all involved in initiatives like these, so much more about the damage of climate change would be unknown to the public.
With the opportunity of preservation and protection, ecotourism will provide income for the local community, that will allow for education and sustainability.
@hitthedeck4115 "Evidence to justify the forest's protection "….. It's common sense to protect natural resources, why need a reason to not kill the earth? It bothers me more that Apparently this forest was a "secret", roughly translating to the western world hadn't taken notice, but now it needs to be "saved". Limited or no limited resources, the exposure is the beginning of the end... I can go further ahead and say this documentary is part of the problem. Now we all know of the "secret" forest. It's about time scientists/tourists/ researchers and grabbers do their thing and ruin it.... Just my simple take.
@@hitthedeck4115 That we even have to justify why it needs to be protected. We have destroyed so much of the natural environment without any remorse. We should not be in this position in the first place.

How about not "discovering" places for your greedy idea of "knowledge" and just leave some of this struggling planet alone?
The rigid news-style narrator ruins this short nature story. You are using a news reporter for a nature documentary. It does not work as the tone is all wrong. Let's leave this type of content for the nature department. Also, there are countless conservation success stories. They are not rare. You are just looking in the wrong places. This story is not new. It has been filmed before.
It’s news, it’s a report, it’s not trying to be a nature documentary. I thought it worked well, clear messaging and rly interesting. Also weird point about there being other successful conservation stories, does that devalue this success story? Should we only ever report things once? There’s nuance which makes this story unique and gives it justification for its own report. If you’re not interested then don’t watch it lol
