If it sounds bad on Discord go to your Voice & Video settings and shut your Input Sensitivity off and move the slider all the way over to the left, turn off Echo Cancellation and put Noise Suppression to None. This fixed it for me.

if it dosnt work for you, you can try this: in the windows control pannel song : set your headset or what on pricipal device at all (communication too) then go in mic device set your mic has the device device and then selecte virtual audio cable has the default device communication :) cehck on OBS while audio is running and you will have the 3 audio device moving in OBS (Audio/Audio BETA/Mic) if it dosnt work again (unlucky boi) unistal voicemeeter or other stuff that you dont need.
This was perfect everything set up perfect, coming from just trying to set up voice meter and finding i just cant get it working your walkthrough for obs was perfect.

I NEED HELP... i tried the tutorial and it worked the first time, but then i closed all my tabs and kept my pc running for a while. afterwards i opened everything again and it doesnt work anymore. tried closing and opening obs again, looking at the settings, and even switching headphones :( the audio does seem to register in obs (mic + music audio) but its unable to work if i change my input setting in-game to vb cable output. how can i fix it?
Good question Im unsure and I dont think vb audio cable is compatible with apple software. You would need to find a different audio source similar to vb audio cable that works on a mac.

@@sgwigglysquid230 On Discord, if I test my mic I can notice a noticeable choppiness to the audio. Called a friend and they confirmed that the audio is choppy for them, too. I can hear the audio fine but I think anyone else listening to it will hear the stuttering.
@@sgwigglysquid230 I'm three weeks off but I found that Discord is the only app that seems to suffer from this. This is noticeable from friends and myself. Tinkering with the audio settings in control panel eventually solves the issue but generally I just keep my mic settings to default on the app so I don't have to do that every time. this is so weird. everyone is complaining about how theirs worked on the first day but second it would just completely stop. make sure vb audio cable is not disabled in settings. Also try reinstalling obs and cable if that doesnt work.

Thanks for the video, but that program sucks. It is severely delayed. I was playing some music through it and it was delayed by 7 seconds and repeated itself until it faded. I had set it up how you did and turned the desktop sound of like you did. But it still was delayed.
I got to about 3:35 in the video then it came up with I need to run with administration. I'm horrible with computers and want to play music in games. looks like a good video and reviews but didn't go over the problems I'm having, now I have a bunch of stuff downloaded I'm never gonna use.
No worries. So the reason we use VB audio cable is it acts like its own audio source that you can use to route audio through. Its safe to doenload and useful for playing music through your mic😊

I had to help someone with this eatlier. You may have a bad installation of vb audio cable. Go ahead and uninstall the program. Aftwarwards reinstall it, reboot pc then see if that works
Hi there try to disable noise suppression and automatic inoht sensitivity in discord settings and see if that helps. Also make sure only 1 source in your obs is putting out your voice so your voice is not being duplicated

Go to your windows advanced sound settings, go to the recording tab, scroll doen till you find the cable, right click it, go to its properties, then click on the listen tab and disable listen to this device
In obs go to your mic, click on 3 dots, click on filters, then click on the plus icon on the bottom left, then add a gain filter. This allows you to increase mic sensitivity making your voice louder
Before you comment a reply just know I fixed the issue I had 2 OBS’s running somehow and closed the one that caused my bad mic so now my mic is clear and music is clear thanks again for the video very useful and works✅
Hi there!!!!! Yes you would need to install the program in administrator mode. To do that right click on the file, and you should see the option to "Run as administrator". Then it should let you install the program 😁

You can disable noise cancelation and automatic input sensitivity on discord to have it work better
It shows up in obs as if everything is working but in vrc it doesn't have any audio at all including my own mic when its on vb audio cable :/

help! when I open obs and create a scene for game and display capture, the mic/aux option isn’t there

Every time I try this, the output starts making loads of random throbbing noise as soon as I turn on spotify, and never stops. No clue why

@3:31 when I’m at this step of the video it tells me to install it again and switch to administrative mode to switch the set up program

Yes you would need to install the program in administrator mode. To do that right click on the file, and you should see the option to "Run as administrator". Then it should let you install the program 😁

@@Kem_sama_G yes. For your mic/aux select the voicemeeter input and set everything up like normal

what happens if i don’t see ( CABLE AUDIO ) under the audio tab in the obs settings ??? i extracted but i still don’t see ? any help
