- This is real, not a mock. Recorded on 14th April 2012 at 1406 hrs. BBC2 was showing a re-run of the Chinese Formula One qualifying round, when towards the end of Q3 an error occurred. A testcard appears, then an empty studio for "Final Score" which would be shown later on during normal programming. Eventually the breakdown sequence appears together with the announcer apologising for the fault.

I remember seeing this years ago and telling my mum how crazy is it to stumble across it
The days when films were ran off projectors in real-time certainly were interesting times.
Yes & it is looped. I remember back in the 80s they would play a record or tape to accompany the breakdown slide with different songs. Thanks for watching.
Did anyone else see the error at the Olympic Opening Ceremony (2012) the shot whent black then the testcard then someone running with a camera (you coud see the tarmac) then it went back all happened ina few seconds BBC One HD
YOU RARELY SEE TECHNICAL FAULTS LIKE THIS NOW DAYS
I REMEMBER BACK IN THE 70,S WHEN THEY HAPPENED FREQUENTLY.
Andy :O)
Music is Pandarus from the BBC Ceefax tape The Fourth Reason
Yes I did see that & it also happened on analogue.
I would apologise if I heard these problems, only if I worked there!!
I remember the breakdowns of the 80s, mostly they were either power related (outages) or tape-reel problems (tape winding up unexpectedly, end of the reel & the studio staff forgot to change it on time, or dirt & cracks in the film which would show on screen). Nowadays they are different & more to do with automation & advanced technology gone wrong.
It's the same music line-up every time now! I wish they still used Against The Clock by Murray Munro...
It’s the BBC One technical fault Music.
Continuity announcer forgot where the race was for a second during one of those reads. Happens to the best of us, even those trained to use our voices to give out info. xD
Then at 2:33 he didn't even try to say where it was.
Was this because of the launch of Sky Sports F1 (occurring on March 9th of the year).
Tbh I don't know. This looked more like a technical error from the BBC itself though.
