For those too lazy to look in the description, here's the music used, all by the same person, Rüdiger Meng: 1. Speed Up 2. Space Travel 3. Road User 4. PC Girl Or you could, you know, click "show more" lol. Who knew breakdowns had such great music.
All the breakdown music are bops and give me serious Michael Jackson vibes. If BBC was airing Frozen and it broke down, to fit the situation, the PAL version of the Frozen OST will play.
It's a still of a sequence that had a bunch of little 2s 'dropping' past the screen (i.e. they dropped some 2s in portrait shot and then turned it sideways!). So in reality that 2's actually mid-air. I like to imagine someone off-camera just yeeting it across frame. xD
This was 30 June 2001, with I Love 1975 airing from 9.00pm to 10.00pm. The power failure at Television Centre knocked all BBC broadcasts off air for 20 minutes. BBC One was showing the film Red Corner, BBC Choice aired Jennifer Saunders pilot Mirrorball followed by animated comedy God, the Devil and Bob and BBC Knowledge was repeating costume drama The Woman in White.
@@forwardgames4121 In case you're still interested, I decided to shoot the BBC staff an email asking about it, unfortunately they said they no longer have specific records about the music used back then, and the music they used would've been production music which is not available for public consumption.
Back then they could redirect networks to Birmingham's Pebble Mill - in this instance though they wouldn't have been able to continue the programme anyway
Wasn't there another failure during Battlestar Galactica during 6pm weekday on BBC2 around 2001 or just before? And afterwards they never showed the rest of that episode or any of the rest of the series of Battlestar Galacticca.
"We're hoping to get the programme back to you as soon as we can". But if we're unlucky, we'll get it back to you as slowly as possible.

Forget going back to the programme, keep on playing the tunes and having the announcements, LOL. Much better.

Do You Have The Breakdown Of The BBC Knowledge One
I can remember Jane Horrocks being in Mirrorball as Katy Grin, a character not dissimilar to Anthea Turner.
