The technical difficulties slide just seems so bare and boring, I can only assume the reason for the lacklustre slide is because of BBC Two's new 'psychedelic' ident package. It leaves me with one question: If the idents are so cool and colourful, what about the breakdown slide? The jazzy music (which seems to be the only bloody piece of music that the BBC plays in a breakdown now as it happens seemingly very rarely anyway) helps but why the boring slide? It's like something serious has happened (more serious than not being able to watch the snooker anyway 😉) . Have they just not been able to create a new slide or something, surely there could have been something better than this slide. Would it really have been that bad to use the old slide from the previous ident package, would it? What do you think? P.s. Don't ask why I'm so interested and het up about this, I'm just curious.
@@yobelkcip I know, the one I've seen has a live version of one of their idents. Still, did they just not have a slide ready or something though? At least it's done now though. I just miss the old idents, but I do like some of the new ones however. I like ITV's approach to idents though, especially the sign language ident.

Phil Vowels: sorry for the snooker breakdown, we will get it back as soon as possible. No Shit, Sherlock! Dean Lydiate: I’m glad to say the problems are now fixed, and we can rejoin the Crucible. No Shit, Lemmy!
Never mind the technical problems, I can barely see the BBC Two logo.
i agree should've been black
It's because of the re-encoding RUclips does. It's much more legible on TV.
MY EYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS - I mean, I'm glad it's not fluorescent yellow, but white - really? Like you said, it masks the logo too!
That's why you gotta remember to put the 20p's in the meter.
Good old Phil vowels. Hasn't he been doing bbc continuity for about 25 years? He was also on an episode of ready steady cook.

They recently changed the breakdown slide by adding a still of one of their idents next to the fault message.

I was walking through my schools canteen and saw this and I just laughed and said 'someone's made an oopsy'
Power cuts keep happening at the Crucible. Why?
That’s life
This new breakdown slide looks like it's from channel 4.
0:15 there the picture just stopped and the sound just plucked out
At least the continuity announcer didn’t get attacked by a ghost this time.
the breakdown slide kinda reminds me of the olden days of channel 4, when they used white on nearly everything.
You're talking about the 2000s Channel 4.
When the channel started in the early 80s, it was all black.
I probably saw the moment, idk forgot if I did.
The breakdown slide used for Inside No. 9 Live was much better.
What happened with the breakdown screen on this one?
Where the hell is the *CURVE!?*
Guess that broke too.
What did BBC Scotland do? Did they broadcast this BBC Two slide and announcement or did they do their own?
BBC Scotland doesn't come on until 12pm.
I saw this fault live.
Thank you for this. I love technical faults lol
The announcer sounds so depressed and tired of his job lol
Some of BBC Two idents: length 4:57 (please let me know what the name is it)
Ariel Sidiq Erdana That is Sparky.
We don't get BBC tv two down here in blandsville illonis over the air but it's on cable
I watched this when it happened!
BBC always breaks during the Snooker. Better then ITV 💀
