Fun Fact: Martin Scorsese actually saw the rough draft of Robot in the Family! He told the director that he wasted a year of his life! That really happened!
@@nikolajwinther5955 There's an article out there supposedly written by the director (just google Jack Shaoul, the link starts with "Insurances Fraud, Murder..."). Robot in the Family is like if the random nonsense of Ryan's Babe and Dangerous Men had a kid, and that kid was raised with crackhead energy by "The Scot" from Top Slots: Spotting the Best
Interesting, the plot in Showdown is kind of similar to the history of the freetown Chirstiania in Copenhagen during the mid 80s to mid 90s. Bunch of hippies, anarchists and collectivists moved into old abandoned army baracks and declared independence in 1971. The freetown had no police authority and open cannabis trade, so naturally a biker gang moved in and decided they were now the de facto authority and controllers of the drug trade, this eventually lead to a bunch of murders and a gang war.
@A J No shit, the bikers have arms even if you outlaw them, Australian bikers have all the machineguns they want, and it's not even legal to carry a handgun in that shitty country, much less using one to defend your life if you actually have one legally. Contact them at their web domain and they might get back to you eventually. They tend to pick their ‘best of the worst’ line-up at random, but carefully plan their other monthly segments.
I’m glad to see this is getting attention now and I’ll definitely email them and see what happens. Some fyi the crazy brother in the movie is my best friends dad who wrote and directed the movie. Joe pantoliano was told to closely mimic his fathers personality and the that’s the actual house they live in. One more thing the suit went through different actors and I think one of the actors got hurt in it.

@@nikolajwinther5955 There's an article out there supposedly written by the director (just google Jack Shaoul, the link starts with "Insurances Fraud, Murder..."). Turns out the movie was a vanity project where the eccentric millionaire writer/producer/actor got an NYU student director to film it. He happened to have classes taught by Marty and showed it to him and it went as well as you'd expect.
