Carlsbad is about 30 minutes away from San Diego, perfect location to Travel to SD, and 45 minutes away from Mexico, and Also only about 55 minutes away from Disneyland and 1 hour 30 minutes away from LA.
We got a place on the Carlsbad/Encinitas border (just off of La Costa) and we could not be happier. We are 5 miles from the Alila Hotel and Ponto State beach, which has one of the best "non-commericialized" beaches in the area. From there we can go either south into Leucadia and the rest of Encinitas or north into Carlsbad village. Either way, this is a easy 15 minute trip we can do DAILY after my "remote workday" which ends at about 2:30pm (I am on East Coast time). No real issues with traffic or parking most of the time. And the people are incredibly nice and friendly everywhere in this area. As for where we live, it has the very temperate "coastal" climate year round (it gets much hotter/colder only a few more miles inland), and it has a number of canyon views (with far less people) all around with tons of trails, plus we can see the ocean as well. Really the best of everything we wanted.
Weather in SoCal is kind of like a fine wine ... so you can never go wrong, but it really depends on your mood. The marine layer burns off a little quicker in Costa Mesa, which is why Sean and Courtney personally prefer it :)
That's a good way to put it. With the current heat wave, everyone's gonna wanna live in Costa Mesa. I do wonder if cooler summer weather is growing as a deciding factor when moving.
Tell us where you're moving from!
Mira Mesa. Our situation is similar. I work in Sorrento Valley and my boyfriend works in Irvine

You said Costa Mesa has "the best weather in the world" in other videos. So which is it? Carlsbad or Costa Mesa?

You forgot to mention -people are real! As far as different from the O.C.
You guys are so cute I’m just a renter but vids are super helpful, It would be cool to maybe include air quality.
Or maybe a vid dedicated solely to air quality
Thanks for the feedback!
You must not be aware of Sage Creek and Pacific Ridge High Schools.
Is Carlsbad or OC better to live in ?
Carlsbad
I moved from Carlsbad to Laguna Beach. I hate Orange County with passion! It's like a retirement center here.
